The Brunt Of One's Mistake

While he was explaining in the background, an exclusive video had been playing on the screen showing Sarah beating the five men outside the Bar.

Then, the screen split up in two showing another video inside the bar. She was looking enraged in both videos and was beating sh*t out of them without any mercy. The luxurious bar had been turned into a great mess.

The music had been stopped and everyone was standing in the faraway corners, protecting their girlfriends and friends. Some drunkards were cheering for Sarah while some were busy recording the incident on their cell phones. What was most horrifying was her way of fighting. The four youths were practically flying from one table and crashing into another.

Sarah's heart almost jumped in her throat.

'Oh no! I nearly exposed my skills! I am in deep trouble now!'

Then, the third window-screen on the TV popped up, in which some reporters were standing outside of the building's gate and trying to sneak in. In front of them was a wall engraved with a big 'Tulsi' in shining golden color.

'Wait, isn't this the building where I am living right now?'

She sighed helplessly. So the commotion she heard under her building earlier was actually reporters...

"..The police arrived at the Bar after twenty minutes and arrested Miss Sarah Deshpande." As the news Anchor continued, the earlier videos changed to Sarah being arrested and led to the Police Van.

'I was arrested by the Police!'

Her mouth formed in the shape of 'O' as she sprang up from the chair, shocked by what she was watching.

Thud! The hockey stick she was holding fell on the floor.

"Our representative is now under the Tulsi Apartment, waiting for Miss Sarah, who was bailed out at midnight by some unknown person. It was neither her family members nor close friends. According to the sources, it might be one of her fans."

Sarah sneaked a peek at the man lounging on her sofa.

Before she could ask him something, he said nonchalantly, "You have misunderstood. I am not your fan." He took out one of Sarah's book-Adventure of Seven Wonders-Part 7' from nowhere. "This is just trash and nonsense. I can write better than this."

Sarah's corners of lips twitched.

'Trash? But if he is not my fan, then why he helped me get the bail?' The thought puzzled her.

When Sarah was about to retort back, she heard News Anchor continuing his reporting,

"All the injured men are between the age group of twenty to twenty-five. One of them, who had suffered from a severe head injury was immediately admitted to Ashalata Hospital in Central Mumbai for brain surgery, where he underwent surgery for six hours. According to the news provided by the hospital staff, the young man's critical situation has been stabilized but he is still in a coma. The remaining four people have received some fractures and are all in the city hospital. Our representative Ananya is associated with us directly from the Tulsi apartment. Let's go straight to her."

Now the face of reporter Ananya appeared on the TV, who was standing under the Tulsi apartment with a mike in her hand.

"Ananya, tell me, what's the current situation there right now?" He asked.

"As the audience can see, we are currently standing under Sarah Deshpande's rental apartment. No one is allowed to go inside because of tight security. We have not been able to talk to Miss Sarah yet. Nobody knows about what happened between her and the five boys at the Paradise Bar last night. When we went to meet the injured youth in the city hospital, their parents refused to meet and said that they want to drag Miss Sarah to Court."

"Ananya, are anyone of Sarah's family members there? The Deshpandes are well known for supporting each other in critical situations like this. Where are they right now?"

"Not a single member of her family is visible here at the moment. But according to the news we have just received, her elder brother, Dr. Samar had been seen coming out of the Ashtalata Hospital, to infer that he was the brain surgeon specially called by the hospital at the dawn for doing emergency surgery on the young man beaten mercilessly by Sarah. This is similar to the saying where the other members of the house suffer the brunt of one's mistake!" She was nearly yelling on the mike.

Sarah cupped her cheeks in her palms. 'Oh no! My poor brother! To talk about my family members, where are they? Have they forgotten about me? I hope these media channels are not harassing them.'

Frustrated and anxious for what she was watching, Sarah started biting her nails nervously. The main point was she didn't remember what she had done the night before. It felt as if she was watching a different person on the TV screen.

She slumped back in the chair feeling low. She was hungry and wanted to eat something so she can think properly over the situation and find out the solution to it.

'How could I do such things carelessly? Was it just for venting out my anger on Saket? Or something really happened at the Bar causing me to act in such a way?' She thought to herself, still biting her nails of the right hand while rubbing her left hand over her belly. It started grumbling!

"I'm hungry... Couldn't at least you have just made something to stop my hangover?" She asked the man.

"I thought about it once but decided not to for some reason." Without glancing at her, the man replied coolly.

"Heartless.." Sarah mumbled through her teeth, sucking her thumb.

Suddenly, the man picked up the remote and turned off the TV. Sarah stopped biting her nails and looked at him, bewildered. That was when she noticed a shiny metal piece in his left hand and bolted up from the chair again, ignoring that her body was still in pain. Her mind went blank for a second and cleared immediately after that.

"This.." Sarah stuttered. "This is... Why it is with you?" She remembered putting it inside her jacket before she went to the Bar.
