Stalker

Zane was sitting at the table by himself. He noticed that Ethan was having a good time with the waitress on the dance floor, and Johnny seemed to take an interest in a girl he spotted and was also on the dance floor.

An attractive woman approached Zane as he was watching his friends. "Hi, I noticed you're all by yourself. Do you want some company?"

Zane glanced up at the woman. She was beautiful by anyone's standards, but Zane had been there and done that. He didn't want to be rude, but he wasn't interested. "I'm actually waiting for someone," he said. He actually realized he was waiting for another glimpse of Destiny.

The woman said, "that's ok honey, I'll keep you company until your friend arrives." She had a devilish grin on her face, and Zane knew all too well what this woman was intending.

"No!" Zane scowled. He realized he was being rude, but he couldn't stand women that were overbearing.

The woman had never been spoken to that way, and it was clear she was shocked. She looked at Zane with bewilderment and scurried away.

Zane found himself glancing at the door off the stage, where anyone backstage would come through to enter the club. Every time the door would swing open, he got his hopes up, only to be disappointed to see anyone other than Destiny.

An hour went by, and there was still no sign of Destiny. Ethan and Johnny really seemed to be enjoying themselves on the dance floor with the women they'd been dancing with. Zane had begun to feel like Destiny was just a figment if his imagination. She had not appeared anywhere, and Zane's blank expression started to reappear. He took a swig of champagne and considered heading out for the night.

As he took a sip of champagne, he looked up towards Ethan to make sure he was still on the dance floor. He was preparing to tell Ethan that he was going to bail and to warn Ethan that he and Johnny would need to find a ride home.

As Zane looked up to find Ethan, he froze. It was her! Destiny had finished giving the waitress a hug and was scurrying out the front door! She was leaving, and he didn't even get to speak with her! As she reached the door, she turned around and spotted Zane. She noticed he was glaring at her, and she wasn't sure if he was under her spell. She had hoped he was different, but seeing him staring her way made her think she may have been wrong. She let out a sigh and quickly left the club.

Zane jumped out of his seat and ran towards the front door to catch Destiny. He was just seconds behind her, but as he got outside, she was nowhere to be found. He saw the valet driver and yelled, "where did she go?!"

Chuck was used to men who wanted to follow Sara and couldn't let her out of their sight. He shook his head and thought, poor idiot! Another victim to her spell. Just then, he noticed that Zane seemed to be different than the others. He pointed his finger towards the alley, and he saw Destiny pull out in a red Porsche convertible and started to speed off.

"My keys!" yelled Zane.

Chuck tossed Zane the car keys, while Zane chucked a wad of $100 bills at Chuck. "Make sure my friends get home tonight. They won't have a ride home," yelled Zane as he quickly jumped in his car.

Zane sped off before Chuck could respond. He could see the faint tail lights of the red Porsche and wanted to catch her tonight.

She was smooth behind the wheel. She was hugging all of the turns of the road tightly, and he was surprised that the angel that he heard earlier tonight was driving like a speed demon.

Her Porsche, albeit fast, was no match for his car. Zane was following her effortlessly, and he surely didn't want to miss his opportunity to finally speak to her face to face.

Sara looked in her rear view mirror. She noticed the black car following her from the club and was doing her best to lose the driver. This wasn't the first time she had been followed by someone who was smitten by her. She usually could lose someone following her with the driving skills she picked up. To her surprise, this car was keeping right up with her.

Her heart started to race, not knowing what was waiting for her if the driver was to catch her. Usually the men who were seduced by her wanted to shower her with everything they had. Some men, who had a darker side, would start to behave erratically, almost aggressively or violently if they noticed she wasn't reciprocating their interest. By the way this person was driving, she was sure she was in danger.

She didn't want to pull in her driveway even though she passed by her street two times now. She didn't want this madman to know where she lived. She was going to loop around one last time and give it her best to lose this driver before she would head towards the police station if she didn't lose the driver.

Zane looked around and noticed that the streets looked familiar. It seemed Destiny had taken him for a loop. He chuckled and realized she must have noticed a car behind her keeping up. How could he not realize his space craft of a car must have been intimidating to watch and surely scared her?

He decided to hang back, turn off his headlights, and make it appear that he was off her tail. With his headlights off, the sleek and quiet design, and the black tinted windows, he was sure that Destiny wouldn't see the car anymore and would feel safe.

Sure enough, within a minute, he noticed the red Porsche slowed down and seemed to be driving at a reasonable pace. He kept a good distance from her, just following the red glow of the tail lights to be sure that Destiny didn't see him. He couldn't believe he was feeling like a stalker at this point!

He saw the Porsche lights stay still, so he slowly inched up to see the car pull in to a driveway. The home was in a very nice neighborhood and seemed to be well kept. It wasn't over the top, but he smiled to see that Destiny lived in a nice home in a wealthy part of town, which meant she was able to take care of herself.

As he inched forward, he stopped the car and noticed her quickly get out of the car, close and lock her car door, and hurry up the steps of her driveway to the front door. Despite her rush, he realized she was still in that form fitting white dress from her performance.

She walked in the house and closed the door. This was Zane's perfect opportunity to knock on her door and get to speak to her. As he walked up the driveway stairs triumphantly and confidently, he suddenly realized, he was behaving like a stalker and probably would not be well received!
