Chapter Fifty-One: Hit me, Cadet

(Levi's POV)

The sound of pouring rain hitting the glass window stirred me awake. I opened my eyes and slowly looked over at the empty space in the bed next to me. "Emi?" I mumbled as I sat up, the covers sliding off my bare chest as I looked out the window, seeing Emi in the pouring rain. I got up and quickly pulled a shirt over my chest as I walked out of the bedroom and outside. The rain was pouring down as the sound of thunder rolled through the sky.

"Emi?" I spoke loud enough so she could hear me, but she was to busy doing push ups to answer. I sighed deeply and walked out, the rain soaking through my clothes as I stood in front of her. Her golden eyes peeked up at me as she stopped and slowly got up, the rain gliding down her curvy body.

"I thought you'd be asleep." She muttered as I placed one of my hands on her cheek. "I was, until I realized that you weren't there. Emi, your shoulder is still recovering you shouldn't be out here." I stated as she sighed, tilting her head to look up at the sky.

"Kami is barely here..I don't have her strength to rely on. I need to get stronger if I'm going to beat Erwin." She explained as I I sighed deeply. "Emi, I told you before were in this together." I spoke as she shook her head and turned to meet my gaze.

"Levi... I can't allow you to come with me..." she muttered as my eyes widened a bit. "Emi, what do you mean? I'm going with you." I stated, my tone becoming a little harsher. "Levi I can't risk you getting hurt, or worse." She spoke as I grabbed her arm and took a step closer to her. "Seriously, Emi? You can't expect me to sit by and allow you to get yourself killed." I raised my voice, tension slowly building in the air as she furrowed her brows.

"Thanks for having any confidence in my abilities, Levi." She mouthed off as I rolled my eyes. "Emi, your being ridiculous!" I growled as she pulled her arm away forcefully. "I'm not some little girl you need to protect, Levi." She stated as my eyes widened.

"Emi, you can't seriously..be thinking about sacrificing yourself..can you?" I breathlessly asked as she sighed deeply. "Right now, Kami isn't at full power, She never has been. Because she has to share a body with me only part of her soul is connected to me. If something goes wrong..and she gets full control of my body who knows what she would do.." She whispered. She was right, no matter how much we were all a team at the end of the day, Kami was still a powerful goddess.

"Emi, I can't let you do this alone. I'm sorry but I can't loose anyone else, especially not you." I stated, my voice cracking as she kept her gaze on me. "Levi, I have too. It's my destiny..." Emi muttered as I could feel my emotions begin to take over. "FUCK DESTINY EMI! I'M TIRED OF GIVING EVERYTHING I HAVE FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY! FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE I WANT SOMETHING FOR MYSELF!" I screamed as her eyes widened. I felt my body begin to shake from either anger, or the chill of the rain I couldn't quite tell. Emi clenched her fists as I raised my eyebrows.

"What? Do you want to punch me?!" I yelled as she scoffed. "Maybe I do." She answered as I closed the gap between her and I, our faces only a few inches apart. We stayed silent for a moment, as the sound of the pouring rain was the only thing heard. We both were soaked, my eyes trailed down from her gorgeous golden eyes to her soaked white shirt.

"Hit me Cadet. Do it, I dare you.." I growled deeply in her ear as she inhaled sharply.
