Chapter 8

                                                        Emily's P.O.V

"More like prison Leon", I said . "Really?, I on't believe you", he said. "uh-huh...", I said smiling. Leon was one of my friends from my old school . One of the best actually. I was always there for me. In the bad times, good, rough. He believes in me, more than I do in myself. "You just have to go with the flow, as long as you have friends, you're good to go", he said snapping his fingers and smiling. "You have Cindy and the other 'hot niggaz'" he quoted using his fingers. I laughed. " That's  what they call themselves", I said smiling. I was sitting at a table by myself. I wonder where Cindy and the others were. "I'll be back", I told Leon putting down the phone. "You're leaving me to talk to  the ceiling?", Leon asked. I walked away making my way up in the lunch line. "Em?", he asked.

After collecting what looked like dog food, I made my way back to my seat. If I'm gonna be getting the same thing everyday, then I can't stay here. Disgusting. Mashed potato with sweet and sour chicken. looked down at the chicken. Looks raw and potatoes, uh; looked like flies were eating it. I shook my head. No. I can't eat this. I walked over to the bin disposing everything including the tray in it. Disgusting. I made my way back to myself. I looked at the table. Looks like everyone's present now. What was Matthew doing doing there?. And. Talking on my phone, with Leon?.I sat down beside him taking up my phone. "Hey ", Matthew said. "Talking on my phone without permission?", I asked. "Actually, I was speaking to Leon", he said. " On my phone?", I asked. It's jut a phone, and I didn't start a convo, *he did. you left him staring at the ceiling. What you expect?", he asked. I looked on the phone screen. He was gone. "great, he hang up on me", I said. "Hey guys, which of these dresses do you think I should wear?", Cindy asked. She showed me some pictures of some dresses on her phone. I observed them. "The black one's cute", I said looking away. "You think?", Cindy asked. I shook my head. "Where are you going?", Matthew asked. "We're going to a party, you should come", Pheby said. "Um, sure.Yea I'll definitely come. I'll just sneak out of the house in the middle of the night when mom and dad are asleep, come home the next morning drunk and they'll end my life for sure. No. I don't think so.", Matthew said. "Such a baby", Clair said looking at me. I looked at Matthew laughing. "Hello......", I heard someone  said. I looked up at the person in front of our table. He's just always appearing. "Hi pastor boy", I said smiling. He looked at me smiling. "Hi red", he said sitting beside me. I could feel his warm breath on my face. And his perfume.Uh, it was heaven. Did he just call me red?. "What's with the name?", I asked. "You don't like it?", he asked smiling. I found myself blushing. I turned my face away laughing. This guy. What was he trying to do?. First it was the funny jokes, now it's name calling. "You're blushing?", he asked smiling. "No, I'm not", I said turning my attention back to him. " ok, so why's your face so pink?", he asked. "Because, you're colour blind", I replied. "No girl, you were blushing", Clair stated. "You like my little sis?", Matthew asked. I looked at Cody. "You don't have to answer that Cody", I said. He looked at me still smiling. "Why are you always smiling with me?", I asked. "Ok........I think you two need to be alone right now. I can't sit and listen to my little sister's love life", Matthew said getting up. "Come on you three thugs", Matthew said looking at Cindy and the others. Clair looked at him angrily. Matthew swallowed hard and spoke. "I mean 'hot niggaz' ", Matthew quoted using his finger with attitude. "Move", Cindy said walking pass him. Clair followed her. Pheby winked at at me before walking off. I smiled. Matthew headed in the other direction.
