I sit up, the pain in my neck a burning realization that I was alive. They were really a surprise. Not to brag but it was basically impossible to knock me out in one hit, and it's never happened.
I open my eyes, the colors of the room coming into view. I was in a dark room with a window mounted on only one wall. Next to the window was a door. Next to me was Axel, still passed out.
I tried standing but the tug of rope around me held me down.I bite my lip already not liking what I was thinking. Taking in a breath I throw myself with the chair to the floor, the wood breaking. I untangle myself from the rope and go to Axel. I unite him and place him on my back.
I go to the door and notice it was unlocked. I open it and see guards at the end of the hallway. I duck into the room again and look around me. I fix Axel on my back and grab one of the legs of the chair I broke. Sneaking up on them I knock them out, the sound of metal hitting wood loud and clear.
I knew people would hear so I start walking as fast as I could with Axel. Eventually I found a staircase and go all the way down. On the main floor I could hear metal clanging and going to the higher floors. I smirk. "They made this too easy." I say and reach a large door that seemed to be the exit. I open it revealing knight after nights their spears and swords aimed at me. From behind I heard someone clap laughing happily.
I turn around seeing a man seeming my age in royal clothing. I drop something heading it clang on the floor. I stare at the knights my eyes shining blue. Watching as one by one the knights fall over, leaving the prince unprotected.
"You know if I was my father I would have you killed by one of those knights." He says pointing at the men on the floor. "But as I Can see you aren't your father. Much too stupid." I cock an eyebrow. He looked offended but as he was about to say something a red fog emanated from the ball I dropped. It covers everything and blocks the view of all.
I run away as fast as I could jumping through the knights and leaving the castle. I remove the spell and I felt the consciousnesses of many, awaken. The clangs of metal filled the streets and people parted as the loud bangs got closer to me. I zoom into a cottage shutting the door.
Peeking through the window I watch as masses of men in metal run past. I sigh turning around to see a startled family of four. Though I noted none of them seemed to be very old.
"Who are you and What are you doing here?" The tallest one asked standing up from his seat. I put my hands up in surrender. "Not to worry. I came in on accident I have no ill intentions for you." I smile but his face doesn't change. "If you don't leave right now I can't say the same."
I giggle at his seriousness and his demeanor changed from worried to annoyed. "The hell is so funny?" I look up to meet his eyes, a smile on my face."I just thought we'd get a more warm welcome Jerry." His eyes widened. "No fucking way."
"Yes way." He came up to me and wrapped his arms around us. "What the hell...? Didn't think I'd see you again!" He was confused but you could hear the smile in his voice. I look up at him a smile on my face. "I did. Just didn't know when. Missed you 'brother." He let out a breath, content.
After a few minutes I heard someone clear their throat. I look over Jerry's shoulder and see a woman a little older than me. She was blonde and had really green eyes. Jerry turned to look at her and gasped. "Right! Anika, this is my girlfriend, Gwen." A smile spread upon my lips as I saw Jerry wrap his arm around Gwen. "You two are so cute! I'm so happy for you." I smile once more then go to the couch where I put Axel.
Jerry loomed over my shoulder. "Is that Axel." I nod plopping down on the floor air escaping my exhausted body. "He looks handsomer. He still a lightweight?" A smile immediately went spin my lips at the amount of times Axel got crazy drunk with Jerry and I. "I don't think it's possible but im pretty sure his drinking tolerance went even lower." He snickers pulling out a chair and sitting down. Looking at the table I notice a little girl sitting there, silent.
Biting my lip I pulled myself up and walk over to my table. "Hey. What's your name?" I ask my usually playful and cocky tone, gone and replaced with softness. She looks up at me, not saying a word. She had light skin and really blue eyes. Her hair was brown and it settles on her head in a what I called a cabbage(a bun). People said it looked weird though.
Jerry answered instead. "Her name's Julia. We found her a long time ago in the woods. She was a 6 then, now she's 7." I nodded listening to Jerry. I brushed a piece of her hair back and looked at the birthmark that was revealed on her neck. I stared at it for a while then back up at Jerry. "Mind if we stay here? Some... issues came up. The prince wants to pick a fight but I'm not that prepared for it yet." I take one last glance at Julia before sitting down next to Axels sleeping self. Jerry nods.
"No problem."
