Sometime later, Qwen slowly stirred.
"Ah! Son-of-a!"
The bright white roome temporarily blinded Qwen when he tried to open his eyes. He sat up on a hard metal floor that was weirdly warm. He was in a massive white room that seemed to have no wall or at least he couldn't tell. The place ruined his depth perception and he quickly shut his eyes to calm himself.
After a while Qwen stood up holding his head while looked down at his clothing. He noticed was wearing an all white suit that covered everything but his head. He was looking around trying to figure out what was happening and where he was.
"Hello! Can anybody hear me!"
Qwen was hardly listening though. His head swung left and right as desperately searched for a way out out of this situation. Where was he? How did he get here? He couldn't contain himself anymore and his fear had finally over taken his reason.
"HEEEEEELLP!!"
The loud voice reverberated through Qwens whole body and he shuddered as his eardrums rung. He was instantly silent and frozen in fear.
You were chosen the moment you attempted forfeit your own life. Now I don't care about an insignificant human but you foolishly tried to commit suicide, within the timeframe of pre integration. It was actual your saving grace and a curse all the same. This is the systems way giving this newly soon to be integrated planet a chance at survival. Not that it usually affects the out come very much. The universe tries to be balanced in all things. Mana radiation has already begun bathing your planet and mutations will soon occur. Every planet is different so the changes are also vastly different. What you humans thought of as global warming is actually mana radiation beginning to make changes to the planet. An object called the dimensional cube was sent from outer universe space to your atmosphere to choose 1,000,000 worthy candidates to battle for your planet's survival. The problem is, you are one of the 1st few chosen and the only one who had survived his encounter with tutorial monster, so far. The voice tone be came more serious. These incidents of monsters appearing will continue to happen so be warned. We on our part, *cough*, may have made an error in sending a system monster that was too powerful. Of course by no fault of your own! Normally, the starting beast are giant slime, goblins, lesser 6 legged arachnids, or lesser Wolfkin. Somehow in your case you spawned a level 3 orc. You had a 1% chance for survival and overcame even those massive oddsbso congratulations! Even the universe had to acknowledge your outstanding luck. At least for the tutorial. So rejoice! Qwens face was blank and last thing felt like doing was any form of celebration but he half-smiled anyways as to not offend the terrifying voice. You will be granted a system upon returning to your body. If you have an issue with that. Tough luck. You should have made better life choices or made some friends and not be a lonely depressed bastard. Now your life belongs to the System and its rules. Maybe you should value your worthless life human life more in the future. It may be a gift or a curse. This is entirely up to yourself. Any who, the system will provide you with basic starting functions. Granted to everyone with a system. It is higly complex and adaptive to its user or host.> Qwen's mind was numb at this point and he just stared at the slightly golden talking light that he noticed appeared in front of him sometime during its explanation with a dumbfounded expression glued to his face. Qwen was excited to hear this although he continued to pretend to be calm. "Well, I don't know what I'm choosing for. You only told me that I'm choosing a skill. A skill for what? What's happening you just want me to accept all of these things and I'm pretty much a fish out of water and helpless. Now please tell me what's happening!" Qwen shouted the disembodied voice. Of course he was terrified, but with no great risk their is no great reward. Qwen was still trying to keep his shit together so he played along and tried to not freak out. Right now definitely wasn't the time to figure out what's real or not. Currently his is only survival and knowledge was survival and getting back to his body. "Thank you, I am honored by your kindness great GM." So what did Qwen know. He had to make a decision based on just this tiny bit of knowledge he had. He was obviously dealing with aliens, gods, or something or another. The strange beings weren't completely perfect and also made mistakes apparently, which is terrifying. Extremely flawed beings that has unimaginable power over countless lives but can make mistakes. He was granted a system with video game type boxes that fed information inside of his brain and body. He obviously had to fight beings for whatever reason, based on how he arrived here. "What limitations are there for my options?" "I want to be able master anything that I learn instantly or in the shortest amount of time, if I cannot learn it instantly." <...Your request has been granted with exceptions. I also left you a small gift. I'll take flak for it later but I sense something special in you. Go forth, grow strong, make bonds. I have given you all that I can now. Go forth and survive!> Before Qwen could think, a bright light surrounded him and his body was overcome by whiteness and he disappeared. The disembodied voice of the GM disappeared to begin the same process on the next planet. 'After all, mana evolution waits for no one'. The voice thought before vanishing. Qwens mind slowly came back to his body. Of course, Qwen had no idea what transpired except fragments. Everything seemed like a dream to him. Qwen could hear birds chirping outside his bedroom window. Qwens alarm clock went off and he slowly opened his eyes. He lay in his bed and stared at the roof. His mind was still a bit groggy but he was able to sit up. He looked around his room and stopped his alarm clock. His desk, his room his plain and ordinary room and the feeling from his boring life crept back into mood. His fear and and excitement instantly dissipated. Today was a Saturday morning. Qwens vivid dream still had him shaken. The pain and blood all were seemingly very real. Qwen never felt pain in a dream. Maybe he was finally losing it. Shaking his head, he needed to get to work on a project that was due soon. Maybe he just drank too much last night, even though he thought hadn't even finished his glass that he poured. At least he hadn't remembered doing so. He groggily got up to head into the bathroom but quickly froze. He was hit with a rancid smell coming from downstairs. His fragmented thought quickly pieced themselves together and Qwens eyes went wide. He quickly and clumsily he ran downstairs to see his living room a mess. He slowly turned around and looked down the hallway he say a puddle of green and red slimy looking goop. A mixture of his and monster blood. It was releasing a gaseous looking fumes into the air. Qwen stumbled back and fell over a downed chair. He hit his head hard on the ground and was slightly dizzy but that strangely helped him come to his senses some. 'So it was all REAL!' Qwen thought to himself. The voice the orc, all of it! Qwen was terrified. A massive chill went down his spine. What if more of those things come? I'll be dead meat! He frantically thought to himself. If it all was real then how was he okay. His body was supposed to be mangles and under the body. He needed to think. He he shot up to his feet and ran back upstairs into his room. Shutting and locking the door. Qwen knew it was a useless gesture but it made him feel safe anyways. "Think, think, think, what did the voice say...I have a system and some kind of rewards. Okay well how do I access it?" Qwen long ago got into the habit of talking to himself. Who else was there to talk to growing up the way Qwen had. "That damned GM didn't tell me how to open the damn thing. System! Nothing. Hello! System answer me!" "AH!" A transparent screen appeared in front of Qwen's vision effectively scaring the ever living crap out of him. He could even see the invasive words with his eyes closed. Qwen took a deep breath. "Status." Qwens eyes rolled into the back of his head and he passed out. His mind was being flooded with massive amounts of information, far too much for the human mind to handle. His body being writhing in pain. At least a normal human mind. A half hour later Qwen woke up on his back with even more words win his vision. <1 HP left death imminent!> Qwen was shocked to see everything that had transpired. His mind was being filled with mountains of information. Everything that he had ever seen and learned had come rushing back into his mind. He could recall his own disgusting birth! He remembered everything! The next thing that popped up was the status screen.
