Sacrifice

The obscuring darkness seeped through the room, but this time it was even darker and denser and Azemo felt his other senses being muffled. He had no idea where Kaede or Shade was, all he could faintly hear was the crumbling of stone.

"The time has come."

Shade's voice pierced through the darkness and Azemo could tell that it was deeper and more monstrous. The voice no longer had the hint of adolescence and contained more power than anything Azemo had ever heard.

Not even Amyon's aura could compete and Azemo could not help as he let hopelessness wash over him. It seemed that there was nothing he could do in the face of such infinite might and he let the darkness cover him.

As Azemo stood still, unmoving, around him the very walls were collapsing, but they miraculously fell around him leaving a small circle where he was standing.

"Ah it was worth the wait."

Winds rocketed through the cave and for a split second, Azemo thought he was in the heart of a hurricane.
