The War on Fear

The capital was unusually quiet, in the middle of the day. The struggles of the nobles were escalating and still the streets were deadly silent.

The feeling of uncertainty and panic was echoed throughout the whole city as people waited with bated breaths for the conflict to start in earnest.

The emperor was desperately trying to spread the danger of the beasts, but it seemed like there was nothing he could do to stop the upcoming war.

The nobles had already set their sights on the rewards of a conquest and the emperor could feel the end of his reign. In fact, the capital was so set on war the emperor did not think even a demon lord could unite it.

The only silver lining was the commoners, they did not want to join in any battle and the ones that were not soldiers were distancing themselves from the nobles. The emperor hoped that he could somehow use the commoners to cement his place with extreme numbers.
