Halo

When Zhong Chen saw that she had finished eating, he told her, "You must be tired. Take a rest for today. Feel free to explore the house if you feel like it."

After he told Bai Shuixian all these things, he grabbed the empty platter and left the room. With his exit, this stumped her on what she should. She had constantly been on the move for the past days, she did not know how to handle the empty agenda.

However, once she stared outside the window again, she saw the beautiful garden with brilliant and vibrant colors. This was different from what was at the front of the house for this garden was in a greenhouse. Her window was not connected to an open space, but an isolated place meant for the growth of plants.

Since Zhong Chen said she was free to explore the house, she was intrigued to see what was in the greenhouse. Besides, it looked much different than the one at the Bai family estate. Before going outside of her room to see the greenhouse, she took another glance outside the window to see the man made waterfall and pond.

Once she saw the water elements of the greenhouse, she finally exited her room to find Zhong Chen. She did not know the way to the greenhouse and she was unable to find the door to it when she looked out the window, so she needed his help. Not only that, she was interested in the names of the many flowers in the greenhouse.

Though she had a plan in her head, she was still unable to execute it. She did not know where Zhong Chen was. Even though she could guess that he was probably in the kitchen or his room, she did not know where they were.

This left her troubled because she did not know if she should just go down all the halls to find the greenhouse or to open all the doors and try to find him. Then again, she had to open all the doors to find the entrance to the greenhouse in the first place, so she decided to go for the latter. Anyhow, it was hitting two birds with one stone if she was able to find the entrance to the greenhouse and Zhong Chen.

Having formulated the most probable action to take, Bai Shuixian took steps into the hallway and headed towards the way she saw Zhong Chen go. At the same time, there was only one way that Zhong Chen could have gone because the hallway that her room was situated at had only her room. There were lots of decorations in the hallway, but in the entire hallway there was only her door at the end of the hallway.

When she finished walking the length of the hallway, she saw that it was now divided into two different ways with what was in front of her being the staircase. She wanted to turn right, but realized that the greenhouse could only be downstairs. With this, she carefully walked down the stairs while holding onto the railings in case she fell down due to the weakness in her legs.

After she reached the first floor, she heaved a sigh of relief. Only the heavens knew how much she feared of falling down the staircase because her legs were shaking. They were shaking from not only being scared of tumbling down the stairs, but also because her legs were getting weaker the more she walked.

It was only when her feet touched the first floor that she started to regret coming out of her room. Her legs were so injured, so why did she have to exercise them when they were already overworked? She had no idea why she kept making dumb decisions over the past few days.

The only thing that made her happier was that this was her own choice. She did not feel anything or anyone controlling her actions or her speech recently, so she was increasingly happy with joy. Her hopes for the future were risen just because of this decision.

However, once she got downstairs, she was confused. The architecture of the house was too different from a temple and too different from the normal that she was used to. It was not even similar to the many confusing paths of the Bai estate.

Though, since she wanted to go see the garden, she decided to follow her instinct. While praying that going left was where the entrance of the greenhouse was at, she looked around the place. Since she was carried in by Zhong Chen earlier on and was distracted by the plants outside, she did not get a good look around the place.

Looking around while traversing the lit up hall, she saw many realistic paintings displaying the nature of the sky, plants, and the elements of earth. There were also many tables with vases that had floral designs on them with different varieties of roses filling them. For some reason, she felt like the temple should not have been called the Temple of Clairvoyance, but the Temple of Nature.

Shaking her head though, she continued on her way and when she saw an open door on the right side of the hallway, she went through that way. Once she did so, she saw Zhong Chen practicing martial arts with closed eyes. Seeing his skills, she marveled at the sight in front of her.

Not only that, the falling snow and running water of the pond with lotuses enhanced the scene in front of her. It was too sad though that a few moments after she came in, Zhong Chen stopped practicing and walked to her instead. Well, he still looked handsome, so she did not complain too much internally.

"Did you need something?" Zhong Chen asked, stopping in front of her and staring down at her.

As she stared up, she realized that the only way she could tell him what she wanted was to point it out. Though she did not say, she wanted to protest about her aching legs. However, as though he already knew, Zhong Chen immediately carried her in his arms.

Not having to walk anymore, her eyes instantly lighted up and she pointed towards her room. After pointing to her room, she made her hands into the same shape as her window. Right after that, she showed that she wanted to go to what was outside her window.

Thankfully he understood her sign language, so he started walking back into the house. Once they were inside, he walked to the opposite side of the house. While he was passing the rooms, she managed to recognize which rooms were which.

At the same time, she wondered why all the doors were open. Every single door was opened except for the front door that they came in through a long time ago and her own door. This surprised her and she turned towards Zhong Chen with curiosity in her eyes.

Once he felt her curious stare, he asked, "Are you wondering why I opened all the doors?"

Hearing the question, she nodded her head.

"I left them open for you. I thought that it would be a better way for you to navigate through the house and your legs are not healed yet," Zhong Chen explained.

After he explained, her eyes showed that she had gained the clarity she wanted. Satisfied, she continued leaning her head on his chest and just waited for them to reach the garden. She was excited to see the garden.

For the longest time ever, she had always been interested in plant life. Though she did not have lots of time to herself in the Bai family, there were nights when she would conduct her own experiments with the few plants that she knew and had learned about from Chang Xianling. She was always interested in learning what plants had healing properties and which ones were poisonous.

As Zhong Chen opened a door, Bai Shuixian felt like they had entered a new world. The greenhouse did not seem to show the glass she saw while looking through the window. Instead, it was full of sunshine and lots of exotic plants grew in the greenhouse with many cute critters and ponds.

There was so much to show that she could not keep her eyes in one spot. Once she looked at one area, there would be another that had something cool to appeal to her too. It was almost hard for her to keep track of how many times she turned her head.

Zhong Chen saw her eyes wandering around from place to place so he took her to sit under the pavilion that was floating on the manmade lake. Only, the pavilion was hidden under lots of vinery, so Bai Shuixian had not known nor expected it. As soon as she saw that there were chairs and tables with a guqin in the pavilion, her mouth dropped.

However, what made her even more shocked was that as soon as they entered the pavilion, there was a halo being emitted from the guqin. The guqin was different from what she always saw. It was pure black in color and she saw no strings.

As soon as Zhong Chen saw her attention on the guqin, he told her, "This guqin can't be played anymore."
