Rainbow

Currently confused about how she ended up on the bed, Bai Shuixian wanted to ask Lu Lianhua and the others if they took over her body while she was asleep in the hot spring. However, since they were all busy creating things for Xuan Yueji and her, they were barely at the front. Sometimes, Lu Lianhua would walk around in the dimension waiting for her to call his name, but right now, he was taking the time to calm the aura from Xuan Yueji.

Although all it took for Xuan Yueji to be able to get rid of his murderous aura was to sleep, in order to make sure it disappeared fast enough to help Bai Shuixian, Lu Lianhua had to constantly cast a spell. If he did not cast the spell, Xuan Yueji would be asleep for years instead of for weeks. Considering the many things that she divined, Xuan Yueji was needed more often than any other person as he was the only person to be able to handle society and attack others with no repercussions.

Lu Lianhua was skillful in attacking others, but he was bound by the heavenly laws. If he attacked humans, his soul would disappear. This would be devastating for Bai Shuixian as she was the shell that held them.

Losing Lu Lianhua, a piece of her soul, would be like getting a part of herself destroyed for eternity. She would feel immense pain or if not that, Bai Shuixian would become a disabled person. Either her physical body loses a certain mobility or she becomes a mentally ill person.

However, seeing as she was not harmed, Bai Shuixian did not see the importance in finding out how she came to sleep on the bed. Instead, she thought about what she should do for the day. Back then, she was always busy trying to learn about the world and could stay locked in a room for long periods.

Now, Bai Shuixian was trying to familiarize herself with the capital. She was trying to follow what Zhong Chen told her and find Su Guang. Having all the time in the world was something she was unfamiliar with.

Still laying on the bed, Bai Shuixian got up and walked out of her room. When she saw the shining sun rays and the rainbow that was in the sky with the sprinkling rain, she sighed. Would she be able to go out or would be called crazy?

Just when Bai Shuixian was still in thought, Steward Lang quickly appeared from somewhere and called out, "Miss Bai. His Highness would like to speak with you. Please follow me."

Bai Shuixian thought that she would be having a moody day today, but it seems that was not the case. If Lin Dalong called for her, then something interesting must up. At the very least, that was what she thought.

When they reached the master study, Steward Lang greeted, "Your Highness, Miss Bai is here."

"Come in," Lin Dalong acknowledged while looking at the note in his hand.

"Miss Bai, please enter," Steward Lang gestured before leaving as he knew Lin Dalong wanted to have a private conversation with her.

Hearing Bai Shuixian enter the study, Lin Dalong informed, "My men found out who it was that managed to sneak into the palace."

Surprised at their speed and intrigued to find out who it is, Bai Shuixian quickly sat down on a chair, asking, "Who is it?"

"Xue Zhelan. The crown prince of the Xue Empire," Lin Dalong told her. "Also… Sigh… I don't know how he managed to get rumors going around already despite only a day having passed, but the citizens now know that there is a young lady in all white living in the palace that can cure all diseases."

With his first sentences, Bai Shuixian already knew that it was about her. The only thing that she did not expect was for the rumor to be so exaggerated. How could she possibly be able to cure every single disease in the world?

Frowning, Bai Shuixian said, "That rumor is over-exaggerated."

"Yes, I know that," Lin Dalong replied. "But, it is hard to kill a rumor. Especially in the capital."

Bai Shuixian frowned even more, her brows scrunching up. She did not know if it was the fault of Xue Zhelan or the fault of the citizens. After all, they could not possibly be so stupid to believe it, right?

"What can I do for you?" Bai Shuixian asked, knowing that Lin Dalong would not tell her in such a heavy tone for no reason.

"I originally planned to keep my promise to you and show you around the capital. When you wanted to leave, you could leave and we would pretend that we never met. However, since there are rumors about you in the palace now, I can only help you and force you to join me," Lin Dalong answered as he walked up to her. "What do you think about becoming my friend?"

At his question, Bai Shuixian froze. Friend? Was this person trustworthy of becoming her friend?

Seeing that Bai Shuixian was tense and frozen in deep thought, Lin Dalong said, "It's fine if you can't choose now to side with me now. You can tell me whenever you want."

Staring at Lin Dalong in the eyes, Bai Shuixian asked, "Why does it have to be friends?"

"Well… I'm not sure of any other relations we could have that would allow me to help you. Not only that, you seem like someone that needs an affirmation of what your relationships must be," Lin Dalong answered, averting his eyes to the side as he was a little embarrassed for assuming such a thing.

Looking downward towards her hands placed on her lap, Bai Shuixian quietly said, "Well, you're not wrong."

"Huh?" Lin Dalong hummed out in confusion as Bai Shuixian had spoken too quietly and fast for him to hear.

Ignoring his confusion, Bai Shuixian agreed, "Alright. Friends. From now on we're friends. You can't ever betray me. If you do, I'll get my brother to kill you."

Lin Dalong gave a nervous laugh at her last sentence. Bai Shuixian seemed like such a cute, gentle and soft woman because of her calm and kind voice. However, when she wanted to be scary, he felt that she could be like a devil from hell.

Coughing to hide his nervousness despite knowing that he would do no wrong, Lin Dalong said, "Alright. I'll tell them to make an announcement about you and that the rumor is far too exaggerated. At the same time, I'll bring you to visit the imperial physician hall and the medicine stores in the capital."

"Why?" Bai Shuixian asked, not understanding why she had to help others.

"I don't know how, but that damn prince really got you famous overnight. There's going to be lots of stigma around you if we don't try to show your good side. Especially because you're considered as an ally of us now," Lin Dalong explained. "Are you free now?"

A little enlightened, Bai Shuixian nodded to show her understanding while answering, "Yes. I just went back yesterday to handle some things."

"Alright. Come with me then. Father's going to give you a title," Lin Dalong told her as he walked out of the study, leading her at the same time.

"Why give me a title?" Bai Shuixian asked, shuffling behind him.

"You ask a lot of whys," Lin Dalong chuckled while they were in the hall.

"I apologize," Bai Shuixian immediately said when hearing his remark.

"It should be me who apologizes. You helped me, but yet I've brought you trouble instead," Lin Dalong responded while secretly looking at her appearance as she walked.

Lin Dalong could not get over her cuteness. He always thought that the person he would fall in love one day was a beautiful girl. Not a female that looked almost childish with her tiny height and small girth.

Wait… Fall in love? Lin Dalong became shocked at his thought.

It has only been three days. How could he be in love already? Lin Dalong refused to believe it.

However, while he kept on walking with her tailing behind him, he could not stop thinking that she was extremely cute. Bai Shuixian was extremely short. Lin Dalong could estimate that she was probably about one hundred and fifty two centimeters tall.

Lin Dalong was one hundred and eighty two centimeters, so compared to her, he was a giant. When he thought about how it might look like when he was carrying her to her room, he once again started swooning. Was he really in love?

Was it possible to fall in love with someone at first sight? Was it really possible to fall in love with someone as cute as her? Was it possible to fall in love with someone that did not look to even be at the age of puberty?

With his thoughts in a craze, Lin Dalong did not answer her question until they were already at the entrance of the hall for the morning sessions. Even though it was raining, it was not heavy rainfall and could only be considered sprinkling at most. Since there was even a rainbow, everyone decided that today was a lucky day.

It was unknown since when, but rainbows were considered a sign of good omen. The very first record of rainbows were associated with dragons coming out to give rain to the people. This has long stayed with them and continued to be passed down as a good thing, so people would go out and about even more than usual in hopes that they would receive that good luck.

Before entering the hall, Lin Dalong answered, "Because father believes that you are someone special."
