After that grand humiliating fiasco, I refused to step out of the carriage for one whole week, and I also refused to let Reuben pull a fast one on me any longer. Colour me brave or crazy, I did not care. If he insisted on making me the clown of his entertainment any longer, I threatened to go full on seduce mode from then on.
