"There he is!" Soph shouted, pointing a finger in Noah's direction.
"Keep it down, Soph!" Caleb hissed, shoving her hand down, "we are already getting enough suspicious glances."
"What else do you expect?" I replied, drily, "We are wearing jeans and tees to some kind of medieval themed party. We are basically punks to them."
"And, whose idea was it?" Mia defended, "you should have read that invitation card carefully!"
"Nothing of this sort was mentioned there!" I responded, glancing around and glaring at some girls in gowns.
"I think this is some kind of royal thingy," Caleb said, "which is why I am going to try out the food, and you," he raised a finger at me, "go and get your man."
"Yes! Go, Chloe! See, he is talking to that pink glittery girl over there. I think she is the birthday girl," Soph mused.
My heart instantly fell and a bad feeling invaded my gut, seeing Noah standing there, talking to a pretty girl. "And, what if I interrupt something between them?" I asked, quietly, "What if he actually likes her?"
Mia and Soph gave me a deadpan look.
"Don't test my patience," Mia responded, "look at him! Does he look like he is even a least bit interested in her?"
I tried to get a better view of his face, but, I couldn't. All I could make out was that he was standing quietly, while the girl blabbered on and on.
