Endgame

The air around them exploded as the boys jumped from different points in the sky and landed on the road all around Ashe. They looked refreshed and not as dazed from before. Surely, they had taken their rest while Ashe and Adrien were gone.

Adrien's jaw dropped as he saw the five of them.

Ashe smiled and crossed her hands, "Welcome, boys." She couldn't believe it worked. But now that they were here, this was going to become even more interesting.

Kai walked forward first and frowned at Ashe, "What…how are we suddenly here?"

She placed a finger on her lips, "Questions later. For now, look behind you." Confused the five of them turned around and Romeo was the first to scream, "What? Not these things again!! My life was so amazing after I thought we had left them!"

"They're here too?" Ethan asked in disbelief.

Ashe nodded, "And with your help, we can take them down. Otherwise they'll only keep wreaking havoc and causing panic around here."

"But there are so many of them…" Kai breathed in surprise, looking at Ashe and the nonsense she was spouting. How were they supposed to take down a 100 Inexas being the normal, powerless boys they were?

That's when Ashe also didn't think through. If Adrien and Kai's powers were activated, wouldn't the powers of the other four also been activated?

"Ethan," Ashe called first, "What was your skill in the game?" The Inexas were slower now because of the U-turn and their snake legs but time was slowly running out. If they didn't figure something out, they's have to run again.

"Uh…" Ethan tried to remember, "Invisibilty…but why—"

Seeing the other four confused, Kai and Adrien stepped forward and in a second, Kai kindled fire between his hands and tossed it from hand to hand like a ball. While Adrien bared his canines and showed his Blood Sucker proof.

Romeo pointed at them both, "You…you both…Blood Sucker and Dragon Scales!"

Ashe nodded, "Their skills got activated yesterday I think. Yours should have too. Do you know if you could bring them out?"

Lucas's eyes flared at this. What the hell…she had called all of them to the area? He didn't expect that. But how had she done it? He didn't know. Now he really started to doubt himself. He needed Ashe tonight on his bed! He won't let her go. But now, he could only wish for that card to fall in his hand.

He also wondered if it was just him who could open the system screen or if Ashe didn't know that she could too. Well if she could, he wouldn't tell her that.

"Uh…" Ethan was confused. He was sleeping nicely in his room and suddenly here he was. Thank god he didn't wear his pyjamas to sleep that night. He could almost imagine what he would like if he did and the thought made him want to shit bricks.

He imagined the air flowing through him and his body floating with it like feathers. He felt himself disappear into the shadows…unseen.

"YES!" Ashe jumped in the air and laughed, looking at Adrien in happiness. He was smiling too as they all watched Ethan turn invisible. Awestruck, the other three tried it too.

Jae-suk walked over to a truck and held its under part. Almost effortlessly, he toppled it over, "Ha! Super Stamina!" He turned to Romeo to see if he had figured out his power. Hesitantly, Romeo clapped his hands together, but nothing happened.

Jae-suk sighed and walked over to him. Romeo looked up at him like a lost baby and pouted. "Hey, just think you're back in the game, okay?"

Romeo nodded and this time, more determined, he looked up at the stars. He felt its energy seep through him and clapped his hands once more and suddenly, lightning shot from his fingers.

Adrien jolted from the sudden reaction and pulled Ashe from the line of impact, hugging her close. Ashe breathed from the sudden rush and looked up at Adrien who was still holding her. He realised what he was doing and let her go, stepping two miles away from her.

Romeo couldn't control it at first but after a few tries and calming words from Jae-suk's side, Romeo finally got the lightning travelling between his fingers, "Star Breaker…yup, Ashe, my power is back!" Romeo looked up at Jae-suk and smiled.

They had just fought but somehow they had made up. Well, that's a long story. But fow now, only Luca was left. He recovered from the shock quickly and ordered Jae-suk to break open the fire engine's water storage. Jae suk did as he was told and Luca lifted his hands and lifted the water until it was floating in a big blob above him, "Water Bender, check! Let's take those uglies down!"

Ashe laughed in joy and nodded, "Yup! Those Inexas will pop up any moment now."

"Guys," Adrien ordered, "Focus on taking out their Core. Once that's done, crush it and we'll be done."

"AYE!" they all shouted and for once, the Death Six was back together again, just like the old times.

She watched them all charge for the Inexas ganging up on them. Jae suk toppled the first Inexa on its head and Romeo sent lightning shooting through it. The Inexa twisted and Adrien flew from the side and pounced upon the Inexa and tore through its flesh. Once he got the Core out, he dropped it to the ground and the Inexa floated away with the air.

On the other side, Kai was throwing fire balls at an Inexa. While it was trying to defend itself from the fire stacks, Ethan climbed on its back and poked it in the eyes with a rod he had found from the debris and rendered the Inexa blind. Jae-suk rushed over and toppled that Inexa too and crushed its Core.

Two down, hundreds more to go.

The boys were crazy, as they went all bonkers over the animals as if they knew their weak points and strong points perfectly and were in sync with their movements. And it was very clear that they had really spent 10 years fighting these creatures. It wasn't some fake memory or some stupid excuse that Darren made for some reason.

Among all this, Ashe was still standing in front of the supermarket and watching them do their job beautifully. She felt a wave of embarrassment.

"Uh…what am I doing here, standing simply? Hehehe," she looked around for something to do, "I feel awkward." But what could she do? She didn't have any superpower and she was complete human, whatever she did won't hurt the Inexas.

She hadn't realised that the card in her hand has disappeared. She sighed and stared at her empty palm, "Seriously, though. That card is so weird. What was Da—"

"EW!!" She screamed as some Inexa goo splattered on her face. She opened her eyes and looked at the dead Inexa right in front of her in disgust. Adrien popped up from behind the monster and smiled crookedly, "Sorry about that!"

But Ashe couldn't help but smile when he said that. Who smiled during a war? She nodded for him to carry on and watched him dig in and crush the Core. After that was done, Adrien walked towards Ashe and stood in front of her.

She was confused, "Wha…what are you doing? There are still Inexas left to fight?"

"Are you okay?"

A breath escaped her lips. Among all this, he actually came to ask if she was okay. She felt her inside melt. 'How swee…what was this? Is this how girlfriends felt when they had boyfriends? Wait so what were they?"

"Of course I'm okay," she punched his shoulder awkwardly.

"About what you said earlier…"

"What thing? AHAH….I didn't say anything! Oh My GOD, Adrien!!" she screamed as she saw an Inexa zero in on Adrien. Adrien sighed at the frustration inside him caused by this girl and turned back to pounce on the monster and rip it apart into a million pieces.

He came back to continue her conversation with her but more Inexas came to interrupt them. Adrien was all calm fighting these monsters, he could take them down even in his sleep.

But this girl was driving his head and heart crazy. She had said he had loved her? Was it true or not? If it was…what were they now? Adrien was going mad among all this.

Lucas clasped the card in his hand once again but this time, he was resolved. How many ever changes he made to the system, Aseh would change them back again. At the end…all he ever wanted was her. So he had to change tactics now.

Slowly, the Lucifer from the shadows stepped out from the darkness and into the light and held Ashe's mouth close. Her eyes went wide and tried to turn around to look at who this was. Instead he just leaned closer and whispered into her ear, "Stay quiet and you'll be safe. Speak a word, and I'll kill you."

"Mhmnghh," she shook under his grasp but he took her back into the darkness as quickly as he had stepped into the light and no one saw them disappear. He dragged her to the back door of the supermarket and tossed her into his car.

"You're mine tonight, sweet heart," he mumbled happily and hit the gas. The car sped off into the night with Ashe thrashing in the back.

Adrien had decided to focus on the Inexas to avoid the storm raging inside his heart. He screamed as he stabbed the Inexas with his canines one by one, killing them one by one. He looked up, his mouth dripping with Inexa goo, "Kai, here!"

Kai whipped his head to look at Adrien and ran over to him and shot a beam of fire and the Inexa screeched. Jae-suk saw the two boys and walked over to them after single handedly killing another Inexa himself.

He climbed to the centre and crushed the Core with his bare hands and it shattered to pieces, taking the Inexa along with it. They all assembled into the circled and assessed their work. That was the last Inexa.

The sun was slowly rising and by then, all the Inexas were gone. They were tired and drained but they felt more energetic than ever. It had been a while since they last did this and suddenly teaming up again really reminded them how much they meant to each other.

They came together and hugged each other, smiles lighting up on their faces. Kai met Adrien's satisfied eyes and gave him a tough bro hug too. Pulling away, Adrien looked for Ashe.

But she wasn't there. Adrien gripped Kai's shoulder and looked at him in fear, "Ashe. She's missing."

Kai's eyes widened too and his heart pounded in fright, "What…"
