Enter SimpleMMO World: Chapter 13

"Huh? A letter from Balthazar?" The sudden letter that reaper and the team received gave them a bad vibe. With another problem right in front of them, they couldn't make any suspicious move that would make Hanz think of them as an enemy so they couldn't open the letter yet with Hanz present.

"(What's this? This is too weak for a Titan monster. Sure this one is hard to kill, but still...)" Standing on the World Boss, Hanz felt unsatisfied with the end without much challenge.

"Well then, now that we sent this big guy to its eternal slumber, you guys... Who the hell are you? What are you doing in this mysterious area?" asked Hanz, surrounded by reaper and the team.

"Wh-what now? We can't just tell him a random lie. He will become more suspicious of us," BlackRaven whispered nervously to reaper.

"Damn, we're stuck with this guy now. I don't know if he is a good or bad guy but at least he did help us in defeating Horror Fang. Though I doubt he will believe us even if we tell him the truth," reaper replied to BlackRaven. While they're contemplating, a vexed blonde woman, Trisha, suddenly appeared from the bushes via wind magic.

"Hanz! I told you not to act recklessly! You're the Moon's lea...der? Huh ... D-did you defeat that monster by yourself?" asked Trisha as soon as he saw Hanz standing on top of the monster corpse, as if he proclaimed himself as the champion who killed it.

"No, I defeated it together with them," answered Hanz, throwing his gaze to Reaper's team while Trisha gave a suspicious look at them.

"Hi, good evening, Miss. I'm known as McGreed and we are travelers from a distant land. The truth is, this monster suddenly showed up near our camp and to protect our camp, we don't have a choice but to fight back. Fortunately, Mr. Hanz came to aid us in defeating this monster," Mcgreed introduced himself and explained what happened. He mixed a little bit of lie with the truth to avoid further suspicion.

"I see. That explains why you didn't know me. But why are you camping inside this mysterious area?" asked Hanz, still suspicious of Reaper and the team.

"Excuse me but we're not quite familiar with this place. We don't know what you mean by mysterious area since we're from a secluded rural area. While we're traveling, we found this place that is similar to our homeland so we decided to enter here to find some ingredients before we continue our journey." Mcgreed answered vaguely.

"Hmm... Then, do you know anything about what happened to that mountain?" Hanz pointed at the mountain destroyed by Khelgarr.

"(That's the mountain Khelgarr destroyed earlier. Then he must be one of the authorities sent to investigate what happened here. What now? Should I tell them the truth?) T-that is-" Before Mcgreed could answer, Khelgarr showed up with Azlanc.

"I'm the one who accidentally destroyed that mountain. My apologies, I was fighting a monster at that moment," Khelgarr told Hanz the truth.

"(Wh-what the hell with his stats!? All I can see is his name. I've never seen anything like this for a long time. Could it be that his level is so high to the extent that I'm not qualified to see his stats? Me!? One of the S-Rank adventurers can't even see his stats!? Moreover, the guy beside him.. His level exceeds 3000. He must be the one that Trisha told me about before. Anyway, this is outside of my expectation, these two are dangerous.) Wh-who... What the hell are you!?" Hanz started trembling but he kept his composure.

"As he said, we are just a traveler from a distant land. I don't know if you will believe me or not but we are definitely not your enemy," said Khelgarr, trying to convince Hanz and Trisha.

"Hanz... I saw a monster with similar stats like him on the way here. I can feel that the monster is not like any other monster we ever encountered before. So, I don't think it's a good thing to make an enemy out of him. Besides, if he didn't attack us despite having that much advantage, I think it's alright to think that they're not our enemy," Trisha whispered to Hanz's ear, voicing out her concern.

"Yeah, I have a bad feeling with his stats. He doesn't feel like an ordinary traveler either. If he said he is not our enemy, then that's what we're hoping for." Hanz agreed with Trisha.

"You can rest assured, we are not your enemy. So let me ask you, are you our enemy?" I asked Hanz with a little intimidating tone.

Hanz sighed. "Of course, we are not your enemy as well. Let me properly introduce myself. I'm Hanz, S-Rank adventurer and this is Trisha, A-Rank adventurer. We come here to investigate the mountain that was destroyed today. Since now we know what happened to that mountain, I guess we can conclude our investigation for now. We initially thought it was the work of a monster, that's why we hurried here to stop it. Fortunately, that was not the case. But can I ask you guys to come with us to make a report on this? Of course we will give you compensation for that. A place to stay for one night and a meal for all of you. How is it?" Hanz asked for Khelgarr's cooperation with his investigation.

"I don't mind but can you give us a little bit of time?" With Khelgarr agreeing to help Hanz with his report and the compensation that Hanz wants to give us, we decided to accept Hanz offer after discussing with everyone. The reason why we decided to go with Hanz's offer is that we need a guide from local people and Hanz who's a veteran adventurer is the most suited for it. Moreover, sooner or later we would need to get into the local town. So rather than blindly going without a local guide, we would have Hanz as our guide into the local town.

"Alright, thank you for your cooperation. I'm sorry about this but we need to get back to Elicia town immediately. My partner here said she sends our comrade to retreat to Elicia and prepare to evacuate people out of Elicia town. So we need to inform them that there's no longer a threat," said Hanz as he prepared to depart.

"I see, that's fine with us." We agreed to Hanz suggestions. Since there was no ride available for us, we just had to run to the town. Fortunately, when we came into this world, our body changed according to our stats so our stamina is totally different than before.

"By the way, do you guys know who is responsible for what happened to those bandits?" asked Hanz while running past the grave that Khelgarr made for the bandits' victims.

"That's also me. Is something wrong with it?" Khelgarr admitted it nonchalantly.

"No, it's just that there are bounties on their head. We will give it to you when we settle this," Hanz said with a little smirk. To be honest, I was relieved when Hanz said that there are bounties on those bandits. Although those people robbed travelers, I still couldn't say for sure who the actual victims were. It could be that they robbed those travelers because of revenge but if there were bounties on their heads, it means that they have been doing it for a long time which makes it more likely that they're just lowly bandits.

"I see, thank you. It's always good to have more money when you're traveling." Khelgarr gave his thanks to Hanz for informing him about the bounty.

Looking at Khelgarr and reaper's behavior, I could say for sure that we have changed both not just physically but also psychologically. Khelgarr who killed the bandits and admitted it nonchalantly, reaper who offered himself as a sacrifice to test the immortality theory as well as myself... This world is changing us!

After a few hours' sprint, we arrived at the town's gate. In front of the gate, a couple of guards and adventurers were holding tight onto their weapons, ready to counter any threat that may come towards the town.

"Look! It's Sir Hanz and Miss Trisha! They're back!" One of them shouted when they saw Hanz and Trisha.

"Sir Hanz, h-how was it!? Did you defeat that titan monster!?" asked one of Hanz's subordinates.

"Yes, we have exterminated that monster. There's no longer a threat. You can spread this news to everyone in the town." Hanz eased the tense guards and adventurers with the news.

"OHH! YOU GUYS HEAR THAT!? AS Expected S-RANK ADVENTURER! LET'S INFORM EVERYONE ABOUT THIS!" They started celebrating as they felt relief. In the middle of the celebration, we headed straight to the guild. Fortunately with all the fuss, no one was suspicious of us. When we entered the town, most people were prepared to leave their houses and shops the moment they noticed, but when they heard the news, they were so happy that some of them fell on their knees crying. From the scenes, I can feel how much they love this town and how much effort they put to be part of this town called Elicia. The more I see this scenery, the more I could feel how much love they poured for this town. As I witnessed people hugging, crying, laughing with their families and neighbors, Hanz suddenly stopped in front of a building that is different from other buildings that we saw along the way. The building design gave a vibe of a typical lair for the 'violent' adventurer. When Hanz opened the door;

"SIR HANZ IS HERE! OUR TOWN SAVIOR IS BACK!" The guild's staff started celebrating Hanz's return.

"Sir Hanz and Miss Trisha.. You're back. I'm glad you're safe. I received the news, on behalf of the people in this town... Thank you very much for saving this town." The Guild Master, Brian gave his gratitude to Hanz and Trisha.

"About that Guild Master, we have to report something. It's also regarding these people who are with me right now. Can we talk somewhere else?" said Hanz with a serious face, definitely not the face of someone who was celebrating victory after saving a town from a threat.

"Hmm. Alright, follow me," Brian said, taking us to the second floor. It seems that nobody is allowed to be on the second floor except for Guild Master and Vice Guild Master.

"First, let me introduce these travelers to you. From my right, Khelgarr, Mcgreed, Reaper, III, BlackRaven, Cleidious, and Azlanc. Actually, the disappearance of the mountain inside the mysterious spot was not because of the monster but it was Khelgarr who accidentally destroyed it while fighting the monster." Hanz introduced us and started reporting to Brian. Then, Khelgarr continued with the report. Of course, he only told them what happened to the mountain and monster that he was fighting. Aside from that, they didn't show any interest in us who were just 'collecting ingredients'. Although they did ask some questions to me who is higher level than an S-Rank adventurer, but it's not as serious as Khelgarr who destroyed the mountain.

"I see. I know that you're not trying to lie but it's hard to believe that someone can destroy a mountain with their bare hands. Except for S-Rank adventurers, no one has the ability to do that especially when you mentioned that you 'accidentally' destroyed it. Hmm... How about this, if possible, can you prove it to us by fighting against Mr. Hanz?" As a Guild Master, Brian couldn't just blindly believe the report. His motto was 'seeing is believing'.

Upon hearing that, Hanz started to tremble but this time it's not because of fear. The excitement that he longs for fighting a strong opponent was something that he almost never felt after he was promoted to S-Rank adventurer. The suggestion that Brian gave him is a golden opportunity for him to ignite his battle spirit. "That's a wonderful idea, Guild Master! Let's do it. I've been itching to fight you two ever since I saw your stats. A traveler with a level twice higher than me and a traveler whose level is too high that I can't even see his stats. I CAN FEEL IT! THE BATTLE THAT I'VE BEEN WAITING TO HAVE EVER SINCE I'VE BECOME S-RANK ADVENTURER!" Hanz couldn't hold his excitement any longer.

"He-hey, what's wrong with this guy? Is he okay?" Cleidious started to feel off with Hanz's sudden change.

Trisha sighed. "Why do we have this kind of creature as an S-Rank adventurer? I'm sorry about this. We will add another compensation for this since it won't be fair if you didn't gain anything from this. We will give you 20 gold for fighting this battle maniac," said Trisha with her harsh words towards Hanz.

"That's mean, Trisha. You can't say that to your superior, especially since I'm your husband as well." A sudden confession from Hanz revealed their relationship.

"EHHH!!!" Everyone in the room was shocked by the unexpected confession.

"Y-you guys are married!!? Why didn't I know this!?" Asked Brian, who was probably more shocked than any of us.

"No, why are you also surprised? Aren't you supposed to be Guild Master?" III retorted to Brian's reaction.

"T-that's... Ahhahaha... Ehem, that aside. She's right. It won't be fair if we're the only one who gains something from this. So the adventurer guild will give you 30 gold if you prove what you reported to me." Brian added more rewards for Khelgarr to fight Hanz and prove that he really did have the power to destroy the mountain.

"Wow, that's 60 gold if you add the bandits' bounties. Urmm, by the way... What can you buy with 60 gold in here?" asked BlackRaven.

"With 60 gold you can buy a lot of things. Horses, a full set of high-quality equipment, and if you're lucky you can buy a small house," replied Trisha.

"A h-house!? Seriously? Khelgarr, you can't reject such a nice offer," said BlackRaven with his eyes shining like gold.

"Ye-yeah, I don't think I have other choice anyway." Khelgarr accepts Brian's offer.

"Great. I will arrange the arena for you guys. For now, it's already late. You guys should have some rest." Brian let us rest so that he could prepare the arena for the S-Rank stage.

"Alright, I will show you guys to your inn." Hanz led us to the inn that he promised for compensation. It was not far from the adventurer guild. From the looks of it, it looks like a place for nobles. According to Hanz it's the most comfortable inn with decent security and facilities. Hanz rented us two large rooms and one room cost about 100 silver coins for one day. Before he left, he gave Khelgarr 10 gold for the bandits' bounties. Although we don't know the exact value of gold coins in this place, but if we can buy a house with 60 gold coins, then that means even 1 gold coin is worth a lot.

"Khelgarr, can I see that gold coin?" I asked Khelgarr to confirm something. Khelgarr handed one gold coin to me.

"So this is a gold coin for this world. Well then, let's compare it with SimpleMMO gold. TAKE OUT: 1 Gold!" I took out one gold from SimpleMMO and after we took a look closely, surprisingly...

"Th-this is... Exactly the same!" With our gold coin is the same as in this world, we are essentially FREAKING RICH!

To be continued...
