Revenge

One day after the explosion at Lab 4:

"What in the fuck has happened?!" After slamming the palm of his hand on the metallic table, Akuishi asked in a fit of rage.

"I-I-I don't know what could have caused that, sir. All of the world governments say that either the USA or Russia must have tested a secret weapon, or that the Heroes Government is covering something up and is hiding it from the rest of the world." A young and terrified researcher said as he was nervously sweating.

"I don't care about what they have to say! Did you contact Katsuri or Lab 1 about this matter?!" Akuishi asked in a voice filled with impatience.

"We tried, but all communication systems around the world have been greatly affected by that blast. We couldn't come in contact with Lab 1."

"Fuck! I have a bad feeling about this." Akuishi said before he held his head down in frustration.

"Why sir?"

"What you don't know, is that the blast's ground zero was exactly where Lab 4 was. I have a gut feeling that someone is responsible for it…an awfully familiar person that is." Akuishi stated in an anxious voice.

"You think it might be Biohazard?!" The researcher asked in a curious yet frightened voice.

"No, someone worse. Contact all guards and tell them to evacuate the researchers immediately. After that, the test subjects must also be evacuated but only after all researchers are out. All guards must be on very high alert starting from now and send all survey teams to scout the surroundings of the facility. Tell them to fire at anything that moves. Broadcast the message."

"Yes sir!" The researcher replied before he sprinted at full speed towards the broadcasting room.

"Attention all guards. You have to evacuate the researchers out of the facility immediately. All the test subjects must be evacuated after taking the researchers to safety. All guards must be on high alert starting from this moment. All survey teams must scout the surroundings of the facility. Fire at anything that moves!" The researcher broadcasted the message around the facility.

All survey teams responded by immediately taking an elevator out of the facility. The elevator door opened up and the survey teams exited the facility that was located under a hill.

The teams started scouting in groups, all being very cautious and at very high alert from anything and everything that moves in the dark.

After a couple of minutes of scouting, survey team alpha spotted a dark figure moving behind the trees. The leader of the team pulled out his handheld radio and immediately contacted the other teams.

"Beta, Delta, Zeta, Epsilon, this is Survey team Alpha. We have spotted a dark figure moving behind the trees." The team leader said on the handheld radio, but there was no response on the other side.

"Beta, Delta, Zeta, Epsilon, are you there?!" The team leader shouted on the radio, but there was still no reply.

"Fuck it. Fire!" The team leader shouted before all the men pointed their guns at the tress and rained down hell on them.

After thirty seconds of shooting non-stop, the trees were riddled with holes and the bushes were all ripped to shreds. The smoke filled the air just as the bullet cartridges filled the ground. It was dead silent for a few minutes.

While the team was taking a quick breath after riddling the forest with bullets, the sound of footsteps was heard coming towards them from those very trees.

-------

A couple of minutes passed by as Akuishi was sitting on his desk, staring at his handheld radio, anxiously waiting for anything that might happen. When suddenly, the radio started to static.

"Did you find anything?!" After snatching the radio in a wave of panic, Akuishi anxiously asked over the radio as he was nervously sweating, waiting for any response.

"Lockdown the facility! No one must enter or exit at all costs! Everyone must seek shelter in a fortified room as soon as possible! The threat level is S-Tier-...AHHHH—" The sounds of gunshots and screams can be heard in the background as the team leader was shouting onto the radio, followed up by an inhuman shriek of pain and horror just as the radio went into static again.

Akuishi was paralyzed with fear.

"Kaguru!" Akuishi shouted before he smashed the radio on the floor.

"Yes sir!" Kaguru replied in a panic, almost having a nervous breakdown.

"All researchers must seek shelter inside a vault, immediately! The subjects are not a priority. All guards must be ready to engage, now! Broadcast the message!" Akuishi shouted before he grabbed Kaguru from the shirt collar and pushed him out of the room, almost making him fall face first.

Kaguru used all of his speed and energy to dash towards the broadcasting room as fast as he can, almost tripping and falling many times as he made his way towards it.

"All researchers must seek shelter inside a vault immediately! The subjects are not a priority! All guards must be ready to engage! Now!" Kaguru broadcasted the message.

As soon as the broadcast ended, an explosion echoed throughout the facility just as the researchers were trying to seek shelter inside a vault. The guards took action immediately and dashed towards the explosion with their guns aimed.

Before anyone could enter a vault, the sounds of gunfire echoed throughout the facility, leaving the researchers, Akuishi, and Kaguru no time to reach the vaults. The researchers sprinted towards the chamber from the selection, two years ago, while Akuishi and Kaguru dashed towards Kurayama’s containment cell, which was the most durable thing other than the vaults themselves.

The sounds of gunshots and screams were clearly heard everywhere in the facility as the researchers were sitting in horror, waiting for what's going to happen.

Suddenly, everything went silent. The gunshots, explosions, and screams all stopped.

The researchers were sitting petrified as they heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming towards the vault. Suddenly, the vault door opened. Much to the researchers’ surprise, it was a guard.

Blood splattered from the guard's torn-off arm as he stood in the doorway, struggling to talk as he choked on his blood.

"S-Sa-Save me...P-P-Please...Urgh." The guard pleaded before a dark tentacle punctured through him, creating a gaping hole in his chest, and launching him towards the researchers.

The tentacle retracted, and standing in the doorway was a dark shadowy figure with a dark mist coming out of his body and a terrifying aura surrounding him.

He took a few steps forward and stood still for a couple of seconds, glaring at the researchers with black eyes with red pupils and veins, opposite of his empty white dazzling eyes from Lab 4.

Dark whips grew from Kurayama's arms as another pair of tentacles grew on his back. He dashed towards the researchers and started splitting them into pieces.

Every time he killed a researcher, his anger grew ten times more to the point where he retracted his whips and his tentacles and started killing them with his bare hands.

He kept bashing their brains in, puncturing their throats, and even grabbed a researcher and bit off a chunk of his head, just to spit it out at one of the other researchers before he grabbed him by the throat and ripped him in half.

After massacring everyone inside the vault, Kurayama grabbed the severed head of a researcher and squeezed until it cracked like an egg before Kurayama released a scream, that sounded more like a roar, filled with all of his anger, building it up more.

Meanwhile, Akuishi and Kaguru were sitting in Kurayama's cell, which was made of the strongest material in the entire facility. It was the safest place for them other than the vaults.

All the screams of the researchers and guards stopped for a few seconds.

"Sir, do you think we are safe here?" Kaguru asked in a terrified voice as snot came out of his nose as much as tears raced down his cheeks. The poor young man was sitting inside the cell, petrified.

"Kaguru, sit down and shut up, he may hear us—" Akuishi stated in an anxious voice before an explosion from behind interrupted him.

The explosion destroyed the wall and killed Kaguru instantly, turning him into an unrecognizable pile of blood and guts. The explosion tore off Akuishi’s right arm and left leg and made him fly towards the glass wall, shattering it from the force of the throw.

"Full healing!" After he released a shriek containing all of his pain, Akuishi said before he re-grew his lost limbs.

"I’m so glad to see you in good health, Akuishi. You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for this moment, to repay for ten year’s worth of tremendous pain." Kurayama said in a bone-chilling voice as he walked towards Akuishi.

"I knew it! It was you!" Akuishi shrieked in anger.

Kurayama stomped on Akuishi’s head, smashing his teeth and his nose inside of his head.

Kurayama grabbed Akuishi's shoulder with his left hand and used his right arm to punch a hole through Akuishi's torso.

"Full healing!" Kurayama said before Akuishi was fully healed, “I will enjoy every second of this!”

In a repeated motion, Kurayama used two of his back tentacles and his right arm to stab and punch multiple holes through Akuishi's body, riddling him with so many holes, mutilating him to a point where he looked like a pile of meat lying down in a puddle of blood, just to get reset and fully healed by Kurayama.

But that was not it.

He smashed his brains in and punctured through his eyes, then fully healed him. He grabbed hold of his throat, ripped it off, and fed it to him, then fully healed him. He twisted his arms and mashed until they turned into a pile of blood and meat, then fully healed him again. He ripped through his stomach, removed his intestines, and strangled him with them, only to be fully healed once again.

Kurayama continued his endless cycle of killing and healing Akuishi for three days. Suddenly, he stopped, and locked eyes with Akuishi. The look that was plastered on his face was unprecedented. His eyes were dead, and his face had an expression that way beyond that of a horrified man. He looked like he was dead, although he was not.

“Kill me…kill me…please…kill me…” Akuishi pleaded Kurayama, in a voice of total and utter despair.

Kurayama kneeled towards Akuishi and extended his arms towards his eyes. He carefully scooped out his eyes and shoved them into Akuishi’s mouth. He then tore off all of his four limbs and squeezed them until they were broken. Finally, he ripped his throat out, and left his gurgling on his blood, slowly until he died.

"I will see you in hell, old man.“ Kurayama stated as a sphere of dark energy formed on the palm of his hand. He then shot it at Akuishi and vaporized his horribly mutilated body into oblivion.

Kurayama was breathing heavily before he started laughing. His laugh was gradually getting louder and more insane by the second…until...he stopped...he sighed...then he walked.

Kurayama was walking through that familiar dark hallway when suddenly, he turned to look at one of the containment cells. His eyes fell on the sight of a boy with bright yellow-orange hair and golden eyes. He was sitting at the corner of the cell that was painted with dry blood, completely dead inside with no emotions.

Kurayama stared at the broken boy. The dark mist surrounding Kurayama cleared up and his face was now visible, but the mist was still covering the rest of the body.

He walked up to the glass wall and broke through it with a single punch before he walked up to that boy and placed his hand on his head.

"Full recovery!" Kurayama said before dark energy started coming out of the boy, climbing through Kurayama's arm, and into his head. The boy's eyes rolled back before he fainted.

Kurayama had tears racing down his cheeks after he finished absorbing the boy's mental pain. However, he was neither crying nor making a face. He only had a stream of tears running down his cheeks as he had an emotionless expression.

The pain that he saw in the boy's memories, lit up the last embers of humanity that he had, and made him have a little bit of sympathy and empathy towards the other subjects. He proceeded to do the same with the other subjects, all having their mental pain absorbed by him.

It was early dawn. After Kurayama has finished his monstrous rampage, he made his way out of the facility.

He stared at the bright and beautiful light of sunrise. He was supposed to feel accomplishment and happiness, but he only felt bitterness, emptiness, and sadness. Revenge was nothing but something that made his blow off some steam. It only made him calmer.

He claimed his revenge, but for what reason? Is it to live a pointless life? A life with no dreams, no passions, no family, no friends, no love, no joy, and no happiness?

Regardless of everything, Kurayama was finally free. He was finally in control of his life again. He finally got rid of his torturers.

Kurayama finally got his revenge.
