Chapter 2: Words Silent Yet Grieving

It's not that I wanted salvation or rescue; that's just too fancy for me.

I just wanted someone to look at me and smile—their voice melting away worries, their words making me forget about the demise that was waiting for me, and their existence assuring me of a warm place to return to.

Yes... That's what I've always longed for. Even if it is... a demon that responds to my desperation.

"What do you mean I'll forever be lost if I don't seek?" Arsh had a perplexed look, gripping the edges of the covers. He asked in an upset manner. "What if I do my best in seeking? What if I do everything I can and still do not get anything? That wouldn't be so fair now, will it?"

Tears started to form in his eyes, and he looked down. "I...did everything to make them happy! But..." As his bubbly tears fell on his hands, he loosened his grip, just like his pent-up feelings.
