"What?" I asked Avery in confusion.
"Did I stutter?" he deadpanned. "It's not really rare for a supernatural god to have a mortal offspring."
I turned to my mates, then at Avery, then at Brent, “S-Supernatural god? What does that mean?”
“Babe,” Aaron said. “There are beings who are much stronger than us that’s living in the realm that’s beyond this one. They are called the Supernatural Gods.”
Stephen nodded, “And they form a court that’s ruled by the Moon Goddess. With every species of supernatural creature, a god or goddess rules over them.”
"Yes, and it would explain your white eyes, your memory loss, your odd smell that reminds us of the moon and Olivia's obsession with you," Brent added.
"Oh," was all I could mutter. “Wait, does that mean I'm not really a werewolf?”
The room was silent for a few seconds. I know that they know the answer to that. I'm just scared that our bond would somehow change because of this revelation. Even the thought of the change in my mates’ feelings for me kills me.
"Baby," Stephen said, holding my hands and made me look at him. "No matter what you are, we will still love you. You could be a poop for goddess' sake."
"Thank you," I whispered. Both my mates wrapped their arms over me and gave me a warm hug.
"That's sweet, Stephen. But a poop?" Avery deadpanned.
Seriously, he really looks like a bratty kid. Klint laughed.
"It was the first thing that came to mind!" Stephen defended. We all laughed it off and went for breakfast.
My thoughts about them leaving me vanished. That was even a weird thought. I know that my mates love me more than anything in the world, and I love them both equally. No matter what happens, our bonds will remain strong.
The day went by smoothly after our conversation in the bedroom. Although it was weird without Kaitlyn but I promised myself to make new friends. I mean, how hard can it be?
"And then, I just," he snapped his fingers, "killed him just like that."
Erwin, as you can recall, is a high-ranking werewolf. He is one of the rare ones who has 2 designations, a Selsa and a Delta.
He is now narrating how he rescued a five-year old Aaron and Stephen. Turns out, Aaron and Stephen were best friends ever since they were little pups. Them being both future alphas and has the same work ethic, it wasn’t a surprise that they became mates.
What shook everyone was me. It wasn’t rare for alphas to marry more than one wolf, but a mate of three isn’t something you see everyday.
"Wait, how old were you then?" I asked him. Judging by how he looks, he is the same age as us, younger even. Frail, pale– oh.
I made an 'o' shape with my mouth and he gave me a wink, "But I thought Avery–"
"Is the first known half-blood of werewolves and vampires, yes. But I'm like, an eighth. Just a teeny bit," he said, a smile plastered on his face. “My ancestors are unknown. Their names weren’t recorded.”
I nodded. "But how old are you?"
"That's one of Earth's greatest mysteries," a man's voice said from the door.
"Sir Gaither," Erwin stood up and bowed.
"Oh, jeez Erwin. Don't call me ‘sir’, I should be the one calling you that," Gaither replied. “I'm not in any position right now. Just an retired alpha running errands here and there.”
It's only the second time I'll be seeing Aaron's dad. Aaron and Avery both got their features from Gaither. Tall, muscular, dark hair and a prominent jawline. He has a bit of gray hair considering he’s older than most recently retired alphas, but he still looks good for his age.
I didn’t miss the lingering gazes of both men. Like they have something to say to each other but are holding back. The switching of their pale gold and rose gold eyes wasn’t hard to miss either.
"Luna," he bowed his head. I stood up and full on bowed.
"Sir Gaither," I squeaked.
Gaither and Erwin both laughed at me. "Luna, you have a higher rank than Sir Gaither, well, anyone else in this pack except for the alphas actually."
"I-I, uh," I stuttered.
"59," Gaither said out of the blue. I looked at him, completely baffled but then realized what it meant when Erwin launched himself towards Gaither.
“I told you not to tell anyone that!” Erwin yelled but Gaither only shook his head.
Erwin gave Gaither a straight punch on the face, but the latter held the former's wrist. They both stopped moving, staring at each other's eyes, lips partially opened. There, their eyes completely glowed in their respective colors.
A ceramic mug broke behind me and saw that it was Margaret. Her eyes widened at what she’s seeing, slowly shaking head she said, "You've got to be kidding me."
I gave her a "what the hell are you talking about?" look. She only raised her brow at me with a "you seriously don't know?" look.
It was then I realized what she meant and looked over at the two men in front of me. The way they look at each other dawned a familiar expression. The air was filled with a heavy tension of desire and want.
It’s how I look at Aaron and Stephen, it's how they look at me, and it's how they look at each other.
My eyes widened at the next word that came out from both their lips.
"Mates."
