Margaret and Sophia

I saw a mixture of hope and fear flashed before Margaret's eyes. Her hands trembled in fear, but she did her best to suppress it. Her presence I also fluctuating, like she was in distress because of what she heard.

"W-What?" she asked me, her lips parted in sheer shock and confusion.

"Hold on."

'Klint, what's her name?' I asked Klint.

'She says her name is Sophia.' Klint replied.

"Sophia," I muttered under my breath.

Margaret held my shoulders, desperation was splattered across her face. Tears started to well her eyes as she looked at me in pain.

"Why do you know her name?!" she asked me as the tears she was holding slowly fell.

"W-What?"

"Tell me how to bring her out," she pleaded. This time, she's crying. "Please. I need her back. I need my partner back."

I asked Klint how everything has been, about what happened, and about how to get her out.

"She said that after your mate rejected you, Sophia was slowly eaten by darkness," I said to her just as Klint said.

"She is now weak but she's still fighting. She's weakened by time, but she's still alive."

"Oh, my goddess," Margaret muttered, letting my shoulders go as she did. "A-Ask her how do I make her come out."

'Got it.' Klint heard Margaret and asked Sophia. For some reason, I couldn't get through to her but Klint could.

"She also doesn't know how," I replied.

Margaret's eyes almost lost all hope. I feel sorry for her. And I hope I could do something.

"I want to help you, so I'll do what I can. I have never seen you became happy, and I wanna see you experience happiness again. I want to see you smile."

I heard Klint sighed so I asked him what's wrong.

'Tell her to come here tonight,' he said with a forced tone.

'W-What?'

'Do you want to help her or not? And don't tell her I told you so.'

"Hey, uh, come over here tonight," I said to her. "We'll figure this out.

She only nodded in response. Margaret retreated back inside the packhouse, still sobbing as she did.

'Okay, what now?'

I finished drawing the symbols on the wooden floor of the large balcony. Just as Klint ordered.

It was a huge circle with one small circle and a smaller circle inside that. Letters that are oddly familiar were written in the middle of the first and second circles, while a crescent symbol was on the smallest circle in the middle.

Klint nodded in satisfaction. 'Let's wait for her.'

Margaret arrived at the balcony. As instructed, she was wearing a white cotton dress that trails down like a train. Her red hair was tied to a bun and a white gold flower hairpin was attached to the bun.

Klint instructed her to stand in the middle, so she did.

'Let me take over.'

I did as was told and let Klint take over. I felt myself being pulled down as if my whole body was being pulled. I closed my eyes, then opened them. I could still see what was happening but I know that I am not in control. I'm just watching as if I was on a dream.

Klint muttered some words and made the markings on the floor glow. It sounded weird for me to hear my voice in a deeper tone. The one he used when he was talking to me was different.

"By the power of the moon, you will regain your wolf!" Klint yelled. A gust of wind blew hard as the light of the moon shined down upon Margaret.

Her eyes turned to a brownish-gold color. She started flinching and mumbled incoherent words.

"Welcome back, Sophia." A soft woman's voice said from nowhere.

It was then that I felt my energy drained and passed out.

"Hey," I heard Aaron whispered.

"Hey," I said to him.

"Someone wants to see you," Stephen said.

I sat up and saw Margaret sitting on the couch, looking down. She looked up and I saw the dark gold tint of her eyes.

"Hello," she said.

"Hey, Mar-"

'It's not Margaret.' Klint cut me off.

'Oh, what?'

"Oh," I whispered. My mates chuckled at my reaction.

"Hello, Luna. My name is Sophia."

"H-Hi," I greeted.

She stood up and bowed. "Thank you for helping me resurface, Luna. We owe you a lot."

"N-No, it's no worries," I replied, waving my hands in disagreement. I inhaled deeply, taking everything in, "It is my duty as your Luna."

The eyes of my mates widened, jaws hung open. "B-Baby," both of them whispered seductively on my ears. They like it when I say something that exudes my title.

"Margaret– err Sophia, would you please give us a minute?" Aaron said.

"Make that an hour," Stephen yelled in excitement as he straddled himself over me. "Two hours."

"Are you ready for The Lunar Conference?" Avery asked. The Lunar Conference is an event for all packs in the continent. Pack Leaders will meet each other and will interact, discuss business and have fun.

Aaron and Stephen weren't so excited about it. They said it was time-consuming and was really useless. Every pack knows the news about other packs. We were required to update weekly.

"I'm not really sure," I said to Avery.

"You have to be," a wolf, named Daisy, said.

We were in the living room of the packhouse. Since my mates wanted me to socialize, I kept on staying here and talking to other people. Lounging on the sofa while eating popcorn and watching crazy 90s movies was my new hobby.

I made a lot of friends as I enjoyed my time here. There's OId Mr. King, Daisy, Arnold, Penelope, and a lot more.

As time went by, we all got closer. It was true that respect is earned and not given. Even when I was the Luna, I still had to work hard for everyone's respect.

The rumors of the Luna being in the packhouse scattered throughout the entire pack and the neighboring packs. The GSIC and the allied packs already knew my existence but have never seen me.

Perhaps the time will come when they will.

And I hope I'm ready for that time when it comes.
