Sleepover

Third person’s POV

A few days have passed and the couples have been using their opportunities to bond and learn new things about each other. There was a sickeningly sweet aroma around them.

Alina thought that accepting and being in a relationship with Xavier was going to be more challenging for her, especially due to them both being alphas, but surprisingly she felt it pretty comfortable. She liked that they could talk freely about the pack, her thoughts about the politics, training and security were acknowledged seriously by him. She enjoyed his stories about his travels and how different each pack dynamic is in different provinces. She liked the fact that he always listened intently to her and always paid close attention to her, like how he always had a hair band ready when she kept on losing her own. It was all the little things. Even though it had only been a few days, it was clear how much he cared and how serious he was about their relationship and she knew that it wouldn't be long before she would fall hard, their bond only intensifying her feelings.

It had been a while since Alina and gang had all hung out properly so she texted their group chat organizing, a long overdue sleepover to catch up and perhaps increase the anti with another “A Team special” for the upcoming event, her birthday party.

As Alina and Xavier got out of their class, hands intertwined, she notified him of their plans tonight which meant no interruptions from said male or his friends. She bid goodbye to him and joined her crew with the challenge of the game ringing clear in their minds.

With that said, it was time to prepare and that meant it was about time that a certain sleepover was to be held.

Jason decided to ride with the girls in Thea's car, so Alina could enjoy the ride back home on her new baby. I think I'm going to name him Rage. Yeah, it sounds fitting. Guys aren't the only ones who can name their rides, and from this day forward this beast of a machine will be named Rage, Alina mused to herself. The engine roared as she made her way back home with the gang far behind her since Thea drives like granny.

The car and the newly named ‘Rage’ were parked and they made their way into the Alpha house. Alina’s parents weren’t home because they were at the pack house having a meeting with the pack’s warrior wolves and would probably stay there for the night since those meetings usually ran late. Alina and the guys would sometimes sit in on the meetings considering they are next in line to lead the pack but her dad let them know it wasn’t necessary for this one and he’d fill them in on it later if there were any major changes.

They raided the kitchen and stocked up on snacks then made their way up to Alina’s room. "Right guys, get yourselves comfy. I’m going to take a shower," she grabbed her pj's and a pair of clean underwear and ran into her bathroom. After a few moments she walks into the room, "Ok next one can hit the shower."

After everyone was settled for the night, they sat around on the extra fluffy Persian rug in front of the tv and nibbled on some snacks while watching their inspiration and favourite movie of all time: Home Alone, the movie that inspired their favourite past time. Alina thinks if they had ever met in real-life, they would be the best of friends.

Once the credits start rolling, they dive into action for the grand finale. "So, what's the plan?" Jason inquires with interest, shoveling popcorn into his mouth.

"I was kind of thinking of a food fight with a dash of water bombs. Classic and golden but still not a regular everyday prank. Perfect for the occasion," Alina suggests with a grin.

"Oh, and while we're at it, we can bring in the water hose too!" Riley says, eyes shining like a kid in a candy store at the idea.

"Not bad. Not bad at all," Thea says with a thoughtful look, nibbling on a piece of chocolate. Enthusiasm takes hold of everyone’s expressions at the thought of the upcoming prank. ‘Goddess I love these girls, my sisters, Jason included’, Alina thinks.

However, she wasn’t the only one having inner thoughts.

Now that his sister and friends have found their mates Jason sat there savouring his popcorn and couldn’t help himself when his thoughts drifted off to his mate and what she would be like. As happy he was for them, he felt lonely and wondered when his time would come. The girls always complained about how they don't want their mates to be over possessive and controlling or dare think about stifling their independent natures. I would never be like that. I’d give her freedom and love her more than I have ever loved anything in the world before. I’d try my best to give her everything her heart desires, do anything or go anywhere she wishes to do or go, he mused to himself.

'You say that now. Wait until we find her. We won't let her out of our site,' his wolf Ryder says in response to his pondering. I said I'll let her go anywhere she wants. I didn't say I won't go with her. I'll be right there...watching over her and making sure no one comes sniffing after what’s ours, he grinned. What do you think of me, a stupid fool? he asks. 'You said it, not me!' Ryder cackles away.

He snaps out of his thoughts and conversation with his wolf when Riley calls out to him."Huh, you were saying?" he blurts and looks around confused. She rolls her eyes and chuckles, "I asked if you were paying attention. Clearly you weren’t."

"I am! I just- I was just- Ryder was- you know what, never mind," he sighs in defeat. The girls laugh at his fallen, sulky expression. He cracks a smile and joins in too, never one to stay sulky for long.

"Okay the plan is great and all but we're going to need some back up on this one if we’re going to go big," Thea says pensively.

"I got it! Remember when we pranked Jason on his 16th birthday? That was hilarious by the way! We used my little cousin Andy and his buddies. We could call them in again. They loved working on that one with us, they'll go crazy for this prank!" Riley proposes as an option.

"Good idea, it’s perfect. Now that that's settled, I think a celebration is in order!" Ali cheers and runs to the docking station. Riley throws Alina her phone and she plugs it in and hits play on the ‘A Team's' playlist. Jason Derulo's Wiggle blasted out the speakers and the girls gave each other a knowing look before getting up and dancing funnily together.

Riley, however, can't dance for shit but that doesn't stop her as she threw it back, or well attempted to. She throws her hands up in the air and flaps it around in some funny movement and sticks her butt out and wiggles it like her life depends on it, looking like a dancing headless chicken.

They all burst out laughing at Riley’s attempt, Ali not missing an opportunity to take pictures. She stops dancing, throws them a pouty look and rolls her eyes, "You guys are mean!"

"But you love us anyways." Jason responds and tackles her into a hug. Alina and Thea join in, crushing her in a group hug.

The night continued with lots of crazy dancing, horrible singing and a movie marathon until they passed out from exhaustion, living their best life.

Unbeknownst to the girls and Jason, they were being trailed by a certain set of males, who were determined to somehow get them back for the paint prank. As their mates set out clear instructions for the night, they decided to do their own recon.

"Let's follow them." Aiden suggested eagerly, already missing his mate. "They're just going to Ali's house. I overheard them talking about a sleepover," Xavier says with a grin, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"That aliens have invaded and boggled with our mates' brains, making them so...so- what's the word?" Aiden asks with a scrunched-up face.

"Dysfunctional?' Alex supplied with a chuckle.

"Yeah, that." Aiden says with a soft laugh, shaking his head.

"No, you dumbass," Xavier says and slaps Aiden behind the head, "I was thinking we could spy on them and listen on to what their future plans are and get some ammunition," he smirks.

We arrive at Alina's house after grabbing a bite to eat on the way. We hear music blaring from one of the top floor rooms. "How exactly are we going to get up there without a ladder?" Aiden asks.

"Dude, you're a werewolf. Just use your speed and claws to grab the window ledge and hope they’re too distracted to sniff us out." Alex says exasperatedly.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that." Aiden replies sheepishly. Xavier just shakes his head and facepalms at Aiden’s usual silly antics. We all climb up and look through the window to find them dancing. Our attention instantly zeroed in on Riley. She's trying to twerk and failing miserably at it. She certainly can't dance for shit. ‘She’s so cute but that’s just plain horrible’ I thought, a smile stifling on my lips.

They all try not to laugh but fail miserably, hands covering their mouths to mute some laughter. “I'm glad the music is so loud and they’re too distracted or else they would have heard us,” Alex chokes out. Aiden takes out his phone and records the whole thing from the horrible dancing and horrible impressions, even the part where Riley falls flat on her butt.

“Hey, what if we showcase this tomorrow? Use this as a form of retaliation,” Aiden suggests with a wry smile.

“Hmmm, I mean, it could work, an eye for an eye after all,” Alex muses.

"Tomorrow boys, is going to be an interesting day. I can't wait to see their faces when they see what's in store for them." Xavier smirks.
