Jayden

The roof was cold beneath Jayden as he sat with his legs dangling over the edge. Yellow and orange approached the pink and blue filling the sky. He felt himself lay down and relax. Deep, content breaths were leaving his mouth and he felt something that he never felt before. That large boost of euphoria that flooded his system. The kind that makes you want to do anything. Jayden slowly sat up and felt himself say something.

“Don’t you ever want to stay the whole night and watch the sunrise? I’d hold you the whole night,” he said, smiling at the sun. There was no response. He got up and felt a weight on his chest. Then a squeeze at his waist. A brush at his cheek. He flinched. Looking around, there was nothing there. Nothing in front of him. Nothing behind him. He could have walked back into the building but he didn’t. He jumped. And once again, reality had buried his confidence deep inside of him. Now was the time to reveal it.
