Alto

“The point is that I need someone to rule with me,” Nile explained. Currently, Nile and Alto were sitting in a clearing in Nile’s massive back garden. Currently, Alto was speechless.

“Nile, I-I don’t know what to say,” Alto stammered. Clearly, this was the truth.

“I know it’s a lot to ask for, but we both want to take down ULTRASONIC and-” Nile started before Alto cut him off.

“Wrong. I want to take down ULTRASONIC. You want to take down the entire Commonwealth. I'm not here for your negotiation, Nile,” the older boy said, his jaw clenched. “My heart still lies there.”

“Alto, listen. Do you think you can leave without getting through us? There’s no way you’ll get out of here,” the prince threatened. Alto laughed.

“You wouldn’t kill me,” he smirked. Leaning in so his head was right next to Niles, “Would, you? My dear?” Alto added, whispering in the younger’s ear softly. He could feel a shiver going down the prince’s spine.

“Smooth, Alto. But you’ll have to do a lot better than that,” Nile said, moving away and straightening himself.

“So like this?” Alto smiled, leaning in once again. He told himself that he was better than this, but was he really? He didn't feel like himself anymore. Something was missing. Suddenly, he felt a cold hand grab his shoulder.

“Leave, Alto,” Nile said, glaring at him. He showed no emotion, but Alto saw the redness rising in his cheeks.

“Gladly,” the blond spat.

“Meet me at the fountain at 8 I have something to show you,” the brunett muttered.

“Of course, Prince. I would love to rule with the son of a king who exiled me for money.”

“You don’t know what my father had to go through at that time, Alto.”

“I think I do, Your Majesty,” Alto snapped, storming away. He was going to find Raelynn to get him out of this mess.

“Your friend is dead.”
