Today's date is...she sighed. After thinking hard for the nth time, she still couldn't remember what today's date was.
Her mom and dad were home today, so she went to her parents room.
She was surprised that her mom gave her the phone, when she asked.
It was like a family phone. She moved to the parlour to relax whilst sitting on the long chair.
She opened the phone and checked the date. The time read 12 pm while the date showed Sunday, 7th. Wait…sunday, that means tomorrow is Monday.
School is going to resume tomorrow. It happens that she lost track of time, but one week flew by in the blink of an eye.
She felt like she didn't live through those days that had just passed.
'Oh my gosh!' A sudden realization hit her. She hadn't gotten ready for school yet.
She quickly dropped the phone on the center table and went in search of her school uniforms, especially the one for tomorrow.
She opened her wardrobe only to discover, it was nowhere in sight. She had clearly washed, ironed and folded it, so where did it disappear to?
Two hours had passed and she had succeeded in turning her room upside down, but still couldn't find her uniform.
'How can a uniform just disappear like that?' She found her other uniforms, but the one for tomorrow was missing.
She decided to go round the house asking everyone. Tade and Femi hadn't seen it while she almost received a slap from her mom, due to almost waking her dad that was asleep.
So her investigation turned out to be fruitless, the outcome left her extremely annoyed and a little helpless.
She went back to her room and surprisingly found it. The cloth was just sitting in the corner, near her bed.
'Can you imagine?' After the stress of searching, she finally saw the uniform but her room ended up being a mess.
She quickly arranged her room and gathered the things she would be needing for school tomorrow.
After this was done, she went downstairs to have her lunch. She delayed eating due to the fact that she was searching for her uniform. Now, she could eat peacefully.
It was getting close to evening; she couldn't wait to just jump in bed and sleep.
She had called Dami, Sonia and Lola a few days ago. They had talked for a long time, before they ran out of airtime.
She hadn't called Emmanuel, even though she said she would. During these three weeks of holiday, she hadn't called or messaged him. She couldn't give him her number, for fear that he would call when her mom was with the phone.
She picked the phone up from where she dropped it and proceeded to her room.
After getting to her room and shutting the door, she searched her memory for his number; she typed it in then saved it with an abbreviation of his name.
She took a deep breath to calm her nerves, then practiced her voice for a few seconds. So she wouldn't sound weird when she spoke, then she pressed the call button.
Ring...ring...ring...it rang three times, then he picked...
