Then she saw...Emmanuel, "Emmanuel?" She was surprised to see him.

He smiled and sat in the chair closest to her, "Hey, Isoken. Why are you still here?" He asked.

"My mom's picking me up late today, what about you?"

"My driver's running a little late." He said then she nodded.

"So..."

"So..." He said.

"How did you find me?"

He smiled then said, "That's a silly question Isoken, this is your classroom. I just went for a walk round the school compound and on my way back I passed your classroom, seeing you here I decided to grab my bag before coming."

They stared at each other for a few minutes before Isoken turned then coughed, 'Is it just me or is it hot in here?'

"Are you alright?" He asked with his brows furrowed.

"I'm fine, I'm fine, nothing to worry about."

"How was your holiday?" He asked.

This broke off the awkward atmosphere between them. They chatted for a while then left the classroom to stretch their legs.

On their way back from the stroll, they saw that his driver had just arrived. They returned to her classroom together, then he took his bag and said goodbye. Stepping one foot out the door, he was no longer in her line of sight.

Her happy mood was gone, as he left. Just as she was about to sit down, she heard a noise at the door of her classroom.

She turned around and saw Emmanuel at the door, "Emmanuel? Why are you back? did you forget something?"

He moved towards her and threw his arms around her waist, bringing her in for a hug. He ended the hug after 15 seconds, "See you tomorrow." He said then flashed a smile at her.

She saw that his smile reached his eyes, but doubted if she saw correctly, due to his glasses in the way.

She sat down daydreaming for some minutes, before her mom arrived and she went home.

...

The next day.--The population turnout at school was better than that of yesterday.

Assembly was held, but the teachers delayed in going to teach their classes. Because some of their fellow teachers also resumed today.

The activity for the day was not much.

Time flew by and one week passed in a flash.

...

It was the second week of school after resumption. School activities returned to normal, people with flashy hairstyles as the school liked to call it, still had one week of grace left.

In the one week that had passed, Isoken had a growing impulse to confess her feelings to Emmanuel.

After he hugged her that day, things seemed to change between them, especially for her.

Normally he only occupied half her thoughts, but now he occupied almost all her thoughts.

Her conscience had been troubled with all these thoughts about him, so she concluded on telling him about them.

It's just like the saying, "Tell the truth and it will set you free." But she wasn't lying in this case, just that her body and spirit wanted her to say it out and not bottle it up.

So she planned for it during her evenings, she thought of several scenarios about how he would react.

She wasn't sure if she had a place in his heart, but she wanted to try her luck.

But she wondered, 'What did she want from him? Was it for him to just know about her feelings or for them to be in a relationship…'
