Chapter 15

"We have set the wedding date already," Rashid revealed sometime after the dinner, smiling broadly to my father who returned it equally as always but honestly, I was getting fed up with all the falsified gestures and actions.

"And when would that be?" I asked while my future wife sat so far away on the sofa, refusing to come anywhere near me as if I was some sort of plague.

"Why so early?" I asked once more.

"You should be asking why so late but anyway, this is why we have prepared this document. We can't give you anything till you walk down the aisle with her," Tijani further expressed, adamantly, while stressing his last words as if we in turn had been thriving on desperation and the need for help.
