Only a breath away as my lips grazed over hers, teasingly and when I was finally about to take the bait and delve in, the redemption came too soon.

“Jacob, the door was open and I-,“ Bankole said, stopping short when he drank in the scene. Shade had jerked away from me at the sound of his voice, like she had been seared. Her cheeks were flushed and we both looked uncomfortable as if we had been caught in the middle of something reprehensible but Bankole was clever, I knew he would catch on dreadfully.

“I uh I was just leaving,” she announced in a shaky and breathless voice before walking away.

Our both eyes watched her leave hastily through the way she had entered and once she was out of sight he turned back to me, looking dismayed.

“Are you crazy!” He shouted, his tone sounding through the room.

“It's not what it looks like,” I responded, letting out a frustrated sigh while gesturing with my hands also.
