The soft feathery touch against her cheek caused Emily's lips to stretch as a beautiful smile bloomed on her lips. The warmth and familiarity of the touch made her body react on its own as she snuggled closer to the person.
She was about to return to the world of dreams when a sudden realization hit her, making her eyes fly open immediately. She sat up on her bed and looked around the room only to find that no one was there except for her.
Her eyes landed on the clock on her bedside table and she noticed that it was barely a couple of minutes past midnight. Letting out a small sigh, she settled her back against the headboard of the bed as her thoughts returned to the feeling that had woken her up in the very first place.
It was so weird. That touch and warmth felt too real and familiar for it to be just a dream. But there was no one there beside her and as she tried to recall why the touch felt familiar, she couldn't think of anyone.
