The Confession

The morning sunlight filtered inside the hospital room through the gaps in the drapes covering the glass windows.

Emily stirred in sleep as the sunlight attacked her face, making her groan as she turned around and bury her face in the pillow only to push it away when the strong smell of disinfectants and alcohol greeted her.

Her eyes flew open and it took her a couple of seconds to adjust to the light before she finally got the chance to look around the room. The unfamiliarity of the place had her sitting up on the bed in an instant but the sudden moment sent pain throbbing through her temples which ultimately resided after a few moments as she sat there on the bed with her palms massaging her temples.

When the pain was finally gone, she took her time to look around the room and realized that she was in the hospital. Thankfully, no IV was attached to her, and other than the slight throbbing in her temples, she felt almost fine.
