The Heroes In Time

The old lady and the little girl followed the heroes at a safe distance as they walked up to the church.

The front door was slightly open and loud talking could be heard coming from inside of the church.

"Where is the treasury for the village!"

"There is no treasury, a feeble voice responded!"

"I DON'T BELIEVE THAT," shouted the voice. I will burn everything to the ground if you don't tell us where it is.

'Creak!!'

Luke opened the door and was the first to step inside of the church.

Ka-chaw…. Lightning strike and thunder rolled as the five of them walked out of the rain and into the church.

"Who the hell are you guys, asked the speaker?" There were five other bandits spread out in the church while there were about seven persons who seem to be villagers.

We were just passing by and heard persons where being taken advantage of. Seem like there are a lot of bullies in here, Greg stated.

All the other bandits turned to face the individuals who had just entered the church. The leader stopped his interrogation and stepped forward towards the heroes.

"Everyone seems to be getting on my nerves tonight. You want me to cut you up, bruh?"

You sound American, inquired Mr. Benjamin.

So what of it, answered the leader.

Tell me something, Mr. Benjamin asked, stepping forward. Why is it that Americans and Englishmen got together to execute such thuggery on the people of Europe?

Thu, Thug, Thuggery?

Mr. Benjamin brought his hand up to his head and then said "take advantage of". Why are you taking advantage of the people?

One of the other bandits in the group began to speak. The rulers of these lands plan to steal the wealth from the people anyway. If we take it from them then we would have delivered a severe blow to those rulers.

That's a terrible way of looking at things, Mr. Benjamin responded.

It is what it is!

The leader then butted in, you guys talk too much. If you are standing in our way, then I will cut you down. He charged towards Mr. Benjamin and swung his blade hitting nothing but air as Mr. Benjamin successfully dodged every blow that he tried to hit him with.

Frustrated he stepped back and said "kill them!"

The other bandit members charged forward towards the group.

This caused Greg and Fiora to bolt forward and intercept them. Greg incapacitate two of the attackers and Fiora disarmed one of them.

One of them passed Greg and ran towards Melinda with his sword forward, ready to execute a deadly blow.

Melinda drew her combat knife and parried his sword swing and then he immediately received a kick from Luke who was standing next to Melinda. The kick caused him to flip and crash into a church bench.

One of the village elders placed his hand in a fist and smiled when the bandit got knocked unconscious. Under his breath he said "Get him!"

The leader and the last bandit stood flabbergasted at what had transpired. A small amount of fear gripped their hearts as their numbers had now dwindled and it was now two against five.

Suddenly the last bandit distanced himself from his leader, and ran around everyone and ran out the front door and into the rain.

The leader, realizing that all hope was lost, dropped his sword and surrendered. In a prideful manner he said "a courageous leader knows when he is defeated!"

Mr. Benjamin was about to speak and tell him that "he chose wisely" when he paused and then said out loud, "it seems that we are surrounded."

"What," asked Greg, slightly confused.

Mr. Benjamin responded by saying "hold your breath guys!"

Suddenly the church roof began to vibrate and make a loud noise. The bandit leader hearing the noise, dropped to the ground and covered his head.

"Some man you are," stated Fiora.

The windows started to rattle loudly until all of them shattered and a river of water entered into the room to trap all five of the heroes and the bandit leader in bubbles of water.

Luke saw it and quickly reacted, stopping time and freezing all the water in the air.

"What's going on," asked Melinda?

Before anyone in the group could answer the front door blew open and footsteps were heard entering.

Slowly a woman dressed in battle attire, walked forward into the church. When her lips moved she said "I dispel all time and magical properties of the enemy in this area."

The frozen time casted by Luke dissipated and then the unknown woman's eyes glowed blue as she raised her hand. The water continued its movements, wrapping around the five heroes and the bandit leader trapping them in a bubble.

The inside of the bubble was surprisingly empty allowing them to be able to breath easily. As they were up in the air, suspended and unable to do anything, ten heavily armed men then walked into the church.

All clad in brightly shining, drenched, silver armor except one who wore black armor. "My Lady," he said. Please don't run off in enemy territory.

I have been taking care of myself for a long time Isabis. I am not going to stop doing that now.

"Fair enough," my lady was his response as he and some of his guards walked up to the individuals suspended in the air.

"What are your intentions," the black Knight asked?

"I was just passing through and heard people attacking the villagers so I came to help them," came the response from the bandit leader.

"Lies," Melinda jerked! Yeh, was the response in unison from the villagers who were now more relaxed.

Luke then began to speak, "We are just searching for a man named Lord Jamie. If you could point us in the right direction, we would gladly be on our way!"

The guards all drew their swords and raised it towards the suspended heroes. The black Knight, in a calm tone asked "and what business do you have with Jamie?"

"We just want to speak with him," came the response from Luke.

"Is that all," responded the black knight turning to the lady.

"Then I would speak with you first," came her response. Arrest them, she continued as she walked to the front door of the church and looked outside.

'The rain was now beginning to subside.'
