As inexperienced as he was, even the youngster knew that a realm as majestic as this would attract all manner of terribly powerful beings. And even if there wasn't one already here, sooner or later there would be a fight for its ownership and they did not want to be here at that time.

But Elder Khadim was unnaturally relaxed.

"Child, you have already made the most difficult choice," he told the youngster before gesturing towards the sky, "Look there, what do you see?"

The youngster turned his gaze towards the sky which was filled with hundreds of fissures just like the one they had come in from.

"I can't see anything, great father," he dispiritedly muttered, "I am not strong enough..."

The elders around him let out a laugh or two, shaking their heads at his naive comment.

Elder Khadim smiled as well, "Peer beyond what is in front, child. You cannot see because you tell yourself you cannot. It is all there, waiting for your eyes."
