Silvie's POV
"What's so important about a circle moon?" I asked, shrugging my shoulders. "Sweetie, it's not a circle moon, it's a full moon" The man explained, not taking his eyes off the window. "That doesn't answer my question" I pushed, trying to get an answer out of these people. "Silv, a full moon for people like us is very important, we need to do special things that nobody else does" I was confused, what special things? Derek came over to me and placed his hands on my shoulders, crouching down to meet my small height.
"You know when I told you about the different coloured eyes people have?" Malia's eyes widened at this, about to stop him when the man from earlier held her back. "Yes, you told me that while you have blue eyes, Scott has red, Mommy has gold, and Max has normal" I explained, confused as to why this was relevant. "Well... we're werewolves" I stood there, stunned. "What?" I whispered, not being able to snap out of my trance like state. "We're different from everybody else, being a werewolf means that you're half wolf-half human."
"Then why are you so sure that I'm one too?" I questioned, wanting to know more about this so called power. "Because your Mom is a werewolf too, and her parents, me, and then my parents" So both my parents are werewolves. "Ace!" I yelled, walking into the hallway in search of my idiotic twin. "Here!" He yelled back from the lounge. I rolled my eyes and continued to where Ace was sitting. "Did you know that Mommy and Daddy are both werewolves?"
His head snapped to mine, and I felt someone staring at the back of my head. I turned and saw Derek gazing at me, with an odd look in his eye, almost...proud? "Wow, but Daddy told us that there's no such thing as werewolves or supernatural creatures?" I heard Derek let out a small growl. I went over to my brother and sat down next to him, taking away his toy truck and placing it on the arm of the chair. "Ace, Max isn't our Daddy" I swear Ace's heart stopped beating for that second. He ran out the room and out the back door. "Ace!!" I yelled, running after him, but being caught by Derek.
"Shh, let him go, he needs time I promise, just let him process everything" I nodded and he let me down onto the floor. I scramble back up onto one of the sofas and looked around for the remote. Eventually I found it and switched the channel from basketball, to paw patrol. "Paw Patrol!!" I squealed in excitement, singing along to the theme tune. I heard a chuckled behind me followed by a dip in the sofa. "So this is what you've been upto?" It was Max.
Derek's POV
After leaving Silv with her precious Paw Patrol, I strolled back into the woods to find Ace, even if I hadn't knew the kid very long, I knew where he'd gone. All Hales do it, I followed his scent to the lookout point and sat down next to him. My large frame making his look tiny. "Who are you?" I heard him mutter, that's a first, shy Hale, not something you see everyday. "Your father" His eyes snapped to mine, "But Max was-" I cute him off with a look. "Max was somebody that your Mom dates, and she thought that if she told you he was your father, you'd never ask about me."
I could see the wheels turning in his head. "Why did you never visit us?" The same forest green eyes that I saw everyday looked up at me, glassy from unshed tears. "Well... a long time ago, I knew a little girl called Trudy, she meant so much to me, and then she got sick" I covered up the gruesome truth. "So the black hole took her from stopping her getting any more pain. After the black hole took her, I wasnt a good person, and I became a mess, and your Mom wasnt happy about that. So one night, she packed up and left.
We had an argument on the way to the train station, all I can really remember was the last thing she said to me for the last five years, 'Trudy Wouldn't Have Wanted This' and she was right, Trudy wouldnt have wanted that. So I got myself together, cleaned up and became a much better person that your Mom would've liked. I told her that I'd changed, but she didn't listen, and after I tried so hard, she blocked me out, and it took a serious strain on me, so I gave up after I found out she was with another man."
Ace looked taken aback by my statement. "She really just left" I nodded at him. "Life isn't fair kid. But, when I found out that your Mom had you, I thought they were Max's kids. But to my surprise, you were my kids, and I was ecstatic that I got a second chance, not many people get a lot of those." Ace looked up to me, "Mommy said that Grandma Talia would have said that, about getting second chances" I smiled down at him. "Well, Grandma Talia was an amazing woman. Now, how about we go back, and you can watch something on tv?"
He nodded and we both walked back to the pack house. As we came closer, I saw Echo, standing on the porch, with her arms crossed. "Oh come on Echo, the kid needed space!" I yelled, fully knowing that she would hear me anyway. "Ugh! Just give me back my kid Derek" I rolled my eyes at her, Ace is our kid. "Our kid!" I corrected. She huffed and went inside. "We need to get the basement ready"
I rolled my eyes, once more, and trudged inside behind her. "The basement is always ready!" I yelled back. Ace came up behind me and grioped the bottom of my sleeve. "What's in the basement?" I lifted him off the floor and onto my shoulders. "Its where we keep safe", he seemed confused at my statement. "From Who?"
"Ourselves"
