Chapter 44: City Hospital

Inside City Hospital spacious and neat dermatologist consulting room.

"You're lucky it isn't blistering yet, otherwise it'd not be good. Take some medication home to apply and use it on time to avoid your wound from becoming inflamed. Also, for the next few days, don't let the wound get wet."

After the doctor helped Elizabeth apply some medication on the back of her hand, he issued her a prescription as he reminded her about all this.

Elizabeth nodded slightly. "Thank you, Doctor."

"No worries, just be careful the next time. Get your medication timely and it will be healed in just a few days."

The doctor handed the prescription over. Just as Elizabeth was about to take it, the man beside her was quicker and his long fingers confidently grasped the doctor's prescription.

Nonchalantly skimming it, Aldrin then gave it to the assistant who was behind him as he said, "Get it we will see you in the car."

The assistant nodded obediently accepting the prescription, "Yes, Boss I will get it right over...!" Then he vanished into thin air taking large strides.

"Let's go"

The two of them walk silently in the corridor and no one spoke. Elizabeth was guilty she knows it's her mistake for not considering his previous concern he must be angry. She was walking with her head down following his shadow.

The sudden ringtone breaks the silent atmosphere. Aldrin stops in his tracks by his sudden action Elizabeth's head bump into his steady back.

"Ouch.." She rubbed her forehead.

"Where were you looking?" he frowned reprimanding her softly and also helped her rub her forehead. Then took a glance at the caller I'd looking at the familiar name.

"Hello? Brother! I just landed. Can you come and pick me up?"

The call was just picked up when Natalie's sweet and high-pitched voice immediately came through. Aldrin had to move the phone slightly further away and even beside him, Elizabeth could hear everything.

Aldrin took a deep breath and then answered in his cold voice with some gentleness, "Hasn't the family arranged the driver for you?"

The other line was silent for a moment then replied, "I don't just come to pick me up. I will not take any excuse." then the phone was cut off immediately without giving a chance to decline.

Aldrin sighs helplessly.

Elizabeth had looked up and met Aldrin's eyes. She knows it was about half an hour's drive away from where they were to reach the Airport. She had just heard her best friend's voice was quite nostalgic about it.

"Airport?" Amidst Elizabeth's voice questioning him.

Aldrin was looking at her hopeful eyes he knew they haven't met for a long time and will be eager to meet each other. He nodded, "Natalie has landed and asked to pick her up from the airport the family has arranged the driver but she must have declined it..!"

Elizabeth didn't know what to say now Natalie has asked Aldrin to pick her up. She won't know if she is ready to face her, nervousness brewed inside her. She bit her lips and said, "I will go to the Johnson Mansion, you can go and pick her first."

Aldrin indifferent gaze looked past the gloomy drizzle and stared at that delicate figure, "No."

He swiftly declined she raised her eyes to met his, then he continued, "We have the same destination and Natalie will be happy if you get over to pick her up."

With that he moves inside the car, Elizabeth was in a trance for a moment and then decided to follow him as she hadn't driven out of her car today and with these gifts, it will be quite troublesome.

After the assistant paid and walked to the car with the bag of medication, he noticed that only his boss and madam was in the car already.

Aldrin was focused on checking something on the laptop across his lap. The blue light from his screen complemented his extremely handsome face, making him seem even more mysterious. On the other hand, Elizabeth had her head down looking at her phone in absenteeism.

The assistant was stunned at the sight as the boss seemed busy and the lady was also on her own. Most of the ladies try to curry favor with the boss but this lady seemed different.

He hesitated for a moment and then waved the bag of medication in his hand. " Boss medication!"

Aldrin look up and said, "Pass it to her." Elizabeth accepted the medication politely putting it inside the handbag and thanked the assistant with a slight smile.

The assistant nodded and turn over.

"Boss, are we going home right away now?" the assistant asked softly.

"Airport," Aldrin said simply. Then, he slowly closed his laptop and gently massaged the fatigue between his brows away before he leaned back and shut his eyes to rest.

"Okay!"

Elizabeth also didn't say anything she emerged in her memories with Natalie. She knows that Natalie must have many questions waiting for her.

The car headed to the airport in silence.
