Idea #54 (Pokemon)

This story concept is around the idea that pokemon can now use combo moves. If a move is within a similar type of move or a compatible type of move then they can be merged together to make a much better move.

An example for a fully evolved pokemon's move lineup is listed below. (This example uses Shiftry as its base and it only uses moves that it can possibly know)

1. Rollout in combination with Leach Seed, Seed Bomb, and/or Dig

This is a fast paced move that spread out hazardous Seed Bombs interspersed with the draining Leach Seeds and Dig to give even more of a surprise to the enemy especially if it Digs and then starts Rollout so when it pops out of Dig it spreads the Seeds super fast because of Rollout.

2. Sunny Day combined with Grassy Terrain

This is a set up move that boosts the speed of Shiftry if it has Chlorophyll or sets it up for certain moves like Growth, Synthesis, Solar Blade, and Solar Beam. This also help heal them over time and boost the powers of Grass Type moves.

3. Growth combined with Synthesis

After combination 2 this is a great way to utilize the Sunny Day because it improves the health gained via Synthesis and boosts the buff of Growth.

4. Leaf Blade in combination with Giga Drain (if it must be touching the target), False Swipe, Night Slash, and/or Fury Cutter

This is a strong attack move that, with the combinations, becomes multiple different things. With Giga Drain it essentially becomes a Horn Leach, but attached to Leaf Blade. With False Swipe it makes it so the target can't faint from the grass type Leaf Blade attach. With Night Slash it becomes a multi-type attack that does extra damage to Psychics and Ghosts on top of the extra damage to Water, Ground and Rock. With Fury Cutter it becomes even better because multiple hits double the damage every time and it adds additional damage to Grass, Dark, and Psychic types. All together it hits across a almost half of the type spectrum, builds in power over time, it heals the user upon getting a hit, and it can keep the enemy just hovering at 1 HP.

5. Facade in combination with Aerial Ace and/or Feint Attack

This is a strong attack combo that is unblockable and cannot be avoided. With Aerial Ace it does additional damage to Grass, Bug and Fighting types. With Feint Attack it does additional damage to Ghosts and Psychic types. Together it hits across a third of the type spectrum, is unblockable unless Protect/Detect/Disable occur, and doubles in base power if they have a major status ailment.

These are just some examples that someone can use, but they span across all pokemon and there are certain moves that just work really well to combo into like Rollout, Rapid Spin, Gyro Spin, Dig, Facade, set ups like Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rock, hazards like Hail or Sandstorm, Punch moves like Drain Punch, Ice Punch, etc., Seed moves like Bullet Seed, Leach Seed, Seed Bomb, and Worry Seed, buff moves like Flash and Double Team, Kicking moves like Low Kick, Stomp, or Low Sweep, Energy ball moves like Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Electro Ball, etc., Beam moves like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, and finally moves that are a different type of set up like Toxic, Venoshock, Venom Drench, Yawn, Acid Spray, Snatch, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Thunder Wave, etc.

Something to remember is that Round is a great move because it can merge with any Sound type move, it can also be learned by almost every pokemon available, and it boosts in power the more that it is used by the group.
