The moon goddess

Nathan POV

It doesn't take me long to find the shed building, after finding a rogue dead outside I instantly know Jamie has gone inside. All of a sudden I drop to my knees in pain, it feels like my heart has ripped out. 'Nooo' I scream in the back of my mind as I struggle to get back to my feet. I walk into the building and I am instantly struck with the smell of blood, as I walk further into the house I begin to hear screams coming from down the stairs. I follow the screams as I run down the stairs.

As soon as I get to bottom they stop so I take a sniff of the air. I scrunch my nose up 'blood and lots of it.' Trip says to me in my head. I follow the scent of the blood which takes me to a door at the end of the hall, as I open the door my heart drops. There are body parts everywhere and there in the middle are my two mates. I walk up to the pair of them, checking for a pulse, I instantly find Payton's, letting out a sigh of relief. 'She's alive' I say thanking the moon goddess.

I place my fingers onto Jamie's neck to check his pulse, panicking when I can't find it, I place my hands around his neck and notice his neck is broken. My eyes begin to water and tears begin to fall down my face, 'he's dead' Trip whines in my head. Placing my forehead on his I let the tears fall, lifting up slightly I kiss him on the forehead, "goodbye, my love." I say as more tears flow down my cheeks.

It's been five days since I brought Payton to the hospital from that shed building, she was in such a bad state. Her whole torso was covered in deep cuts, her wrists and ankles had burns around them and she had silver running through her body. The past three day though she has been healing really well and the silver is almost out her system but, she still hasn't woken up.

I still don't know what happened to Jamie or the other wolves. I haven't left the hospital since I brought her in to afraid to leave her alone, I don't know if the person responsible is still out there or still in that building dead. Chloe is on high alert with the children and so is Chris, he has told the pack no one is aloud in the house unless I give permission. To be honest I'm grateful for them both because thanks to there help I don't have to leave Payton's side. Chloe brings the kids here twice a day so they can see there mom, but they cry every time they enter the room. Chloe thinks it's due to there mom being in this state but I just don't know. My wolf is beginning to become restless which causes me to panic more, I just wish she would wake up.

Payton POV

I wake up to the sun high in the sky beaming brightly on to me. I sit up as I realise I am in a beautiful field full of daisies, "hello is anyone there." I shout out as I begin to stand, there no reply. I begin to walk through the field for what seems like hours until I reach a beautiful blue lake with a waterfall. The water flows from the waterfall glistening as it pounds onto the rocks below it. "Hello there." A sweet voice says startling me, I look around but don't see anyone.

They laugh, "up here my child." It soothingly says causing me to look up at the top of the water fall. There stands a young woman, she's in a beautiful white dress that hugs her curves in all the right places, her hair is a bright white that flows to her hips. She has bright blue eyes which compliments her pale complexion. She jumps off the waterfall, diving into the lovely blue lake, causing me to gasp out in shock. She emerges from the water as she takes a deep breath in, smiling up at me as she begins to swim to the shore. I sit on the edge of the lake dangling my legs into the water as I wait for her to swim to me. She pulls herself up to the edge and sits besides me. Taking a deep breath I look over at her, "who are you?" I whisper as I look into her eyes. "You know who I am." She soothingly says as she arch's her eyebrow up. "The Moon goddess." I gasp out as a shocked expression takes over my face.

She nods, "yes my dear." She says giving me a small smile. "Am I dead?" I ask looking at her in amazement. She lets out a little giggle, "no your not dead." She says shaking her head. "So why am I here." I ask her confused at what's going on. "Well my dear, you unlocked majority of your powers becoming the one and only true Luna." she starts making me look at her weirdly, "the true Luna?" I ask confused, causing her to giggle "yes my dear you are a direct descendent from me, you was born from me and given to your parents for protection." She says smiling causing me to scoff. She looks at me questionably, "my parents was never around I was always alone." I say as her smile fades. "I'm sorry I didn't know." She says Before she becomes serious again. "You also witnessed a great loss Payton.

Right now your heart is broken and your body is exhausted my darling." She says as she gives me a sad smile. A memory flashes in my mind as I remember Jamie's neck being snapped and his body lying on the ground dead. My eyes begin to water as a tear drops down my cheek. "Jamie." I whisper as my head begins to hang low as I look at the ground trying to hold back the sobs. Placing her hand on my shoulder I look up at her with watery eyes. "You have a choice my dear." She soothingly says. I arch my eyebrows up to her, confused at what she is on about. "When one mate dies the other soon follows, in your case Payton you have two mates, I can let you live and continue your life with your other mate or you can come with me." She says calmly.

I look at her shocked, a image of my children crying flash through my mind, "what happens to Nathan and my kids if I stay?" I quickly ask. "I think you already know that." She says raising her eyebrow at me. I nod as I look at the floor, I do know what will happen, Nathan will be heartbroken and won't be able to cope. As for the kids, I know first hand how hard it is to grow up without parents. With my decision set in my mind I look up at her. "You don't have to say my darling, I already know." She says before she surrounds me in light.
