Patron of light

Onicent joined dinner late the night Alora disappeared. Both Serse and Airabella questioned him on their sisters whereabouts. He explained patiently that they had had a quarrel and she had stormed out. He assured them she'd return soon.

The next day Airabella and Serse walked out into the forest together. They called their sisters name but at last they found no trace of her anywhere. She had seemingly disappeared. Serse was not aggressive in nature so she didn't inquire any further to Onicent. Airabella on the other hand pressed on the matter repeatedly, but with little success for Onicent dodge her questions. Everyday for a week Airabella and Serse searched together, they became more and more desperate to find their sister, yet they came back empty handed.

Then one day Airabella didn't come to search. Serse went out on her own. Without her sister to contend with she was quicker, she made her way to a massive pond where she stopped to rest for a moment. That was when Dauntice found her, he had heard her voice and remembering what had happened just a week before appeared next to Serse. She recognized him instantly.

"Dauntice," she greeted. "Alora, my sister, has gone missing, have you seen her?"

Dauntice told her everything he had found out from Alora. When he finished Serse looked horrified.

"Where is she now?" Serse begged. Dauntice showed her to the cave entrance.

"Follow the tunnels till you reach three blocks of grass, there will be a pool of lava there, that is where I know Alora went."

Serse thanked him and took off through the cave alone. She reached the chamber quickly, there was grass but no lava. Only an empty pool remained. She bent over where the pool had been and whispered for her mother, she asked where Alora was. In reply there was a barely a sound, Serse made out the word 'safe' and that was all. Serse having no more clues to where her sister may have fled, ambled on her way out of the cave. She had no desire to be back with Onicent, and Airabella, she was sure would hold her own. When she reached the surface it was from a different tunnel, and she was in dark forest.

Then she heard a sound. She tracked it down to a cluster of closely spaced trees, and found two others who resembled her. Only they were much weaker in aura, and not completely like her. Their skin was the colour of tree bark. They both stepped back when they saw her. She was perplexed by them but kind in nature, so she introduced herself. They explained they were lost from their homes, because night had fallen, now they had no idea where they were.

Serse felt deep pity for them, she wished to help. She instructed them to stay where they were. She made her way to a nearby cave and searched till she found a spotted black block. Feeling it was the right thing to do, quickly she mined it out and using wood in her inventory she combined them. What she created was glowing warmly, yet could be carried. She called it a torch.

She knew it to be light, and instantly a power surged through her. She took it back to the others and presented it to them. They were amazed by it and fell to their knees before her. Serse gave it to them and explained how to make more. Thats when the day hit Serse, she had no where to go back to. When they offered to let her stay with them for a time she accepted quickly.

Serse found joy in being with the others, they called themselves humans she found out, and they had come from the same cave she had. Serse was still helping them build their village up when news arrived to her from Dauntice, Onicent was getting married.
