Chapter 10

BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND? ENEMY?

It's been a week since I've gotten out of hospital and that meant going back to school today. As I walk out of the house I realise Christian is waiting there with his grey coloured sports car looking amazing in his white shirt, black suit pants and jacket, and in his white and black sneakers. I ask him "Christian, why are you here?" Christian starts to walk toward me, I then realise he's not alone he has the 17 year old boy that I met at his place the first time I went there and I realise how simular they look, both pale white, both deep dark brown eyes except the 17 year old has deep dark brown hair almost black hair. Christian is now in front of me and says "Hello Grace if you don't mind Lannan here will be joining us on our ride today. Also I'm here because your mum and dad said to me while you were sleeping in the hospital that you're gonna be riding with me to school every day now." I sigh and roll my eyes, ever since the accident at work mum has forbidden me to go anywhere without Christian there with me or his security. I nod and Christian takes my hand and leads me to the car. Lannan opens my door and says "Good Morning Miss Rose." I respond with "Hey Lannan, can you call me Grace?" He nods and says "As you wish Grace." I realise Lannan is wearing a white shirt like Christian and the same pants and jacket, but instead he's also wearing a black tie and black polished shoes. I get into the car and Christians in there already waiting for me. Lannan closes my door and is in the front of the car starting it, and in seconds we're moving. Christian takes my hand and strokes my knuckles as he says "Grace just so you know Lannan is not human he's a vampire and has been alive for more than 300 years. Isn't that right Lannan?" Lannan says "Yes indeed sir." And that was the last thing anybody said during the ride to school.

As we arrive to school I'm nervous of what people might think about me taking a ride with the most handsome looking guy in the whole school, and richest guy. Lannan opens my door and says "After you Grace," I nod and I was right as Christian takes my hand everybody starts staring at us and at Lannan with their mouths wide open with shock.

Ana is waiting at the front doors of the school for me, and as I walk to her with Christian holding my hand and Lannan next to me she gasps and comes running up to hug me, she then looks at my face and says "Whoa Grace, what happened to your eye? You have a bruised eye." Before I can answer Christian says "Grace just got into an accident Ana, okay." Ana looks at Christian then at me and does that over and over again and then asks "Grace are you and Christian together as boyfriend and girlfriend?" Christian nods and Ana glares at him, I answer the question "Yes Ana we're together I would believe so." And with that all four of us walk into school for our first class of the day that we're all in, which is my favourite class, Art. Like I predicted people are staring at us excpecially Christian and I, but Christian just ignores them and holds me close to his chest in a way of protecting me. "But from what?" My subconscious asks in a worried voice and tone.

In Art class people are whispering and staring at Christian and I, and behind us at Lannan in the corner of the classroom looking on his phone scrolling, while the teacher Miss Buckles shows us how to draw cartoon characters and actual portraits of ourselves. Christian can see I'm tense and he says while I'm listening to Miss Buckles "Grace just ignore everybody, it doesn't matter what they think." I look at him and then back at the teacher, Christian interrupts the teacher again by saying "Grace talk to me, please." I shake my head at Christian and smile as I go back to work. Christian gets the hint that we should be listening and not talking.

As we head to the canteen for once and not the library, Christian seems more tense than usual and is crushing me to his chest. We head to our table near the window, when Christian all of a sudden pushes me behind him and growls as Lannan comes in front of me and Ana as well, and it's like I'm trapped in a cage not able to get out. I look under

Christian's arm and see a 19 year old boy with the exact same hair as Christian except its red and black, I also see he's got clear red eyes with tints of black in them. Christian growls again except its deeper and I think it's a warning to the boy. I manage to say "Christian let me out," Christian says "No way Grace I'm keeping you safe!" I then say "Christian I'm not in danger for god's sake I'm not!" Just as Christian was about to say something the boy spoke "Christian there's no need to keep Grace safe from me same with you Lannan. The names Michael." Christian growls again but I manage to push him out of my way same with Lannan. And I shake Michael's hand as I introduce myself and my friends "Nice to meet you Michael my name is Grace these are my friends Christian, Ana and Lannan." Michael smiles and says "Nice to meet you Grace same with you Christian, Ana and Lannan." Christian comes up to take my hand and says through gritted teeth "Thanks Michael and to be exact I'm not Grace's friend I'm her boyfriend so don't try anything." I sigh overprotective Christian is back. Michael says "I'm sorry to interrupt I need to go, but it was nice meeting you Grace same with you Christian." And with that he heads out of the canteen and everybody's staring at us. Christian sighs and says bitterly "I don't trust that guy one bit and Grace you're not to talk to him at all. You hear me?" I nod and as we head to our table where Ana and Lannan are sitting waiting for us, I nudge Christian in the chest with my elbow.

After that scene in the canteen Christian has not let me out of his sight, except for the bathroom even then he makes Ana go in with me and stands outside the door with Lannan by his side, it's sort of getting annoying with not having any privacy.

When I get out of my only class without Lannan, Christian or Ana in it with me I actually notice that Michael was in PE class with me staring at me for the whole class, it was weird the even weirder thing is, instead of Christian outside the door with Lannan it was Michael and his friends they were talking about something but I don't know what. As soon as I was about to leave and head to my locker Michael came to me and surprised myself by saying, "Hey Grace sorry I left at lunch today I just had something I needed to do. I hope you understand." I nod and continue walking and was expecting him to just go back to hanging out with his friends but he walks with me and asks me all sorts of questions like, "How old are you? What is your favourite song? How many friends do you have?" But he then surprises me with a different question that is really none of his business, "How long have you and Christian been together?" I look at him and say "That really is none of your business Michael." He nods and I've realised I'm at my locker and I see that Christian is coming towards Michael and myself with an angry expression on his face. Oh boy! Fast and furious coming. I then say to Michael "Michael I think you should go before Christian gets here and rips of your head." But he's too late and Christian is next to me and grabs me by the waist and brings me closer to him than I expected. And says after he kisses me on the forehead "Hey Grace sorry I'm late I had to talk to the teacher after class. Oh hey Michael what did I say about leaving my Grace alone. Enhances on the mine Michael" I look at Christian and say "Christian he was just saying hello and also, where is Ana and Lannan?" He looks at me totally ignoring Michael and says "Oh those two lovebirds truth be told they're boyfriend and girlfriend now, it's really bugging me, anyway we should be going. See ya later Michael." Michael nods and Christian takes me out to his car and I step in and fasten my seatbelt. Christian is soon in the car and is driving over the speed limit, but I decide to stay quiet and let him drive it considering he has a licence and I don't, also he's furious.

Christian pulls up in front of his house, pulls me out of the car, takes me up to his room and then he locks the door to his room and says through gritted teeth, "What did I tell you Grace about you not talking to Michael. I know he seems like a nice guy but he isn't, trust me. And because of your actions you are staying at my house from now on until I figure out something. I've already talked to your mum and gone to your house to pack the essentials and their over there." I stutter "But Christian…." "No buts Grace you are staying here and that is final! And because I can't watch you or where you're going all the time at school you'll be home schooled starting Monday and I've figured it all out." I sigh, I can see that I'm not going to win and I go to my school bag and grab out my favourite novels to read, which are Twilight 1, 2, 3 and 4. And start reading on his bed and start doing homework.
