Leah and Angeline

I woke up and checked that the Sun was just rising.

"It's the day." I said to myself. I got out of bed and prepared myself to meet my teachers.

I wore a shirt with suspenders and black shorts. I wanted to have an easy time moving and if need be I could remove the suspenders for more movement.

As I left my room I could hear my parents getting ready for the day. Downstairs, I could hear breakfast being prepared by our chef, Daniel.

We ate the eggs and ham Daniel made and Sherry cleaned up the table. Just after the breakfast was the knock on the door.

Sam opened the door and welcomed the two visitors. I looked to see who was outside and it was two girls. The girl standing on the left wore a greenish brown robe and a mage hat. She had green hair and brown eyes. To describe her, she was a beautiful petite young woman.

The girl on the right was taller by a head and had a more muscular frame but still having the beauties of a woman. She wore a leather vest and tight fitting pants, along with leather boots. Her hair was a brownish red, scarlet eyes, and there were freckles on her face. Strapped to her side was a sword and sheathe.

"Greetings to you two distinguished women." Sam said with a bow.

My father also welcomed them with the same respect.

The green haired girl on the left spoke, "Hello! Hopefully we weren't too early. My name's Leah. I'm a light green mage and this brute to my left is Angeline."

"I can introduce myself thank you. My name is Angeline, I'm of the sword expert rank as well as being a practitioner of hand to hand combat." The woman on the right said.

"You guys are right on time. Let's introduce you to our son Brandon." My father assured them.

I walked over to the door and said my hello's.

"Hello. Nice to meet you, my name is Brandon. I am 5 years old and will be in your care for now."

"Well first, we must find out whether you have the aptitude to train." Angeline said.

"Yes. I understand. I will do my best and work hard."

We talked for a bit more but my parents had gone back to do their paperwork. We had walked out to the yard while talking to each other. Leah had set up a schedule for the training times.

"From 9 am to 12 pm are your magic tutoring and from 1 pm to 4 pm are the swordsmanship training."

I nodded in agreement. The time currently was 8:30 which I could tell by looking at the clock. There seemed to be clocks in this world that were powered by a small magic stone.

"I've got a question. I heard Master Leah and Master Angeline introduce themselves with titles like light green mage and sword expert. What do those mean?" I asked with a hand on my chin.

Angeline answered, "Well, I can tell you about the rankings of a swordsman. Sword users are ranked on the strength and techniques that they display with the sword. The rankings are Sword Apprentice, Warrior, Swordsman, Sword Expert, Swordmaster, Sword Saint, and finally the Sword God. There have only been 3 humans to attain the rank of Sword God in all of history. Even the current Grand Holy Knight is only a Sword Saint."

"That's a lot to take in. But it's nice to have everything divided into classes. What about mages." I asked.

"For mages, it's a lot easier to differentiate the level of power. Within each and every person exists a mana core. The color of the mana core demonstrates the level of power a mage has. The colors go from red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, then lastly white. There are many mages in the world but I've heard there are less than 20 white mages in the whole world. In fact, my own teacher was a blue mage" Leah explained to me.

After their explanations, it had already turned 9. The time for my first lessons.
