Chapter

I pulled out my phone to check the time, and it's 5:30 p.m. I have to be at the shop by 6:30 a.m. because that's what Mrs. Clara and I discussed. She also stated that she would enable me to work at her shop as long as I prioritized my academics. That's why she made me a schedule; my work hours are 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. I know it's unfair to the other employees in her shop, but there's nothing I can do because Mrs. Clara set the schedule herself, and all I have to do is follow it.

I abruptly came to a halt in the corridor when I noticed Seri standing in front of me, staring at me. I averted my sight from her and resumed walking as if I hadn't seen her.

"Are you not going to make an apology to me?"

After she said that, I stopped walking and turned around to face her.

"Sorry? For what?" I understand what she was implying, but if I hadn't done anything wrong, why should I apologize to her?
