It seemed their love for each other grows by every passing moment, and it seemed there was nothing at all that could stop that love from growing, it was becoming a stronger feeling for them, and if the adults and even their parents noticed, they never talked about it or confronted them with it. How intriguing, that at a very young age they fell in love so hard, so strong, and even the young lovers were scared they would never be able to pull out when such a time arises.
School was already in full session and the students were already exhausted in two weeks, they had so much work to do since it was their final year, not to talk of the final exams that was due in three months time, every student was preparing, the brilliant and serious ones were revising , putting much attention on the topics they weren't familiar with. Those who had difficulties and were classified as average students, were preparing much harder, always seeking help from the good ones, some had already given up and decided they couldn't do anything to change their destiny, they were bound to fail, so why study? or so they thought.
Ariana was one of the very best student in her school, she was mostly praised in school and at home for her exceptional brilliance. Perry didn't bother too much about his studies when he started junior high, after all he was to take over his father's company when he was of age, but now, things have changed or the way he saw things had changed, he was much fortunate that he was smart, if not, he would have lost all hope, he had just three months , he was going to work hard and go to a good senior high, maybe apply for scholarship.
He just wanted to be independent, work hard and get good grades, and get a job of his own, he was planning to call off the stupid marriage as soon as he knew he was stable and had his grounds, he was never going to marry someone he didn't love, who would have thought that Ariana could just change everything, he had this plan already, he just needed a push , something to make him stand for himself, a sort of drive that would make him more determined to free himself from his parent's strong grip.....
Ida had already left, since school had begun, she had to also leave for school, it made home much boring for Ariana, she had no friends in school , not because she wasn't socially accepted, she just did not like too much people in her life, besides making friends in junior high is just pointless, unless you and your best friend or friends decide to go to the same senior high school.
She sat in front , her back slightly hunched as she concentrated on the maths question in front of her ignoring the noise her mates made, her brows knitted as she begun calculating in her head, she didn't know how, but her thoughts soon drifted to Perry, lately, they had not been able to see each other, both were busy, but that didn't stop her from thinking of him every single moment, all the things they had done together, he was the only one she could share her problems and feelings with without even trying and she felt so comfortable around him...
She snapped out of her thoughts as she begun solving the maths problem.
She studied too much, she knew it very much, and that mad her the best in her school, but she couldn't still sit back and let her self confidence overwhelm her, she knew she had to study hard to get that excellent grade she dreams of.
A gentle tap on her shoulder made her raise a brow, another friend request, she thought to herself, she turned towards the girl, and realised it was Jessica, the "queen bee" of the school , the girl beamed at her before taking a sit beside Ariana.
"Hey Ariana. I was hoping you could help me with the maths assignment " She said sweetly , Ariana was surprised, Jessica was one of the best students too, right after Ariana, and she was very good in mathematics especially, the best even.
"How can you not solve it, you are even better in maths than me" Ariana said.
"Yes I know. But I'm so confused , the question is tricky" She said, Ariana sighed , she gestured for Jessica to move closer, she explained the solution to her slowly, it made her understand the topic well herself.
Jessica soon left thanking her, she focused back on solving more questions tuning out the noise....
Ariana was exhausted , she groaned loudly as she dropped her bag on the rugged floor slumping on the couch. After a while, she decided to change, her uniform made her uncomfortable sometimes.
As she returned to the living room, she heard a knock on the door, she frowned wondering who it was, she knew Efe was in school, she was in her final year in senior high just like Ida.
Her heart beat faster as a smile spread on her face, he didn't wait to be permitted to enter. He barged into her apartment hugging her tightly, like his life depended on it.
Meanwhile, Ariana was struggling to breathe, she slapped his back pushing him slightly.
He frowned confused, but then Ariana spoke up.
"Jesus Perry, you knocked the breath out of me"
She said.
"Oh. I'm sorry, I just missed you so much" He said softly, Ariana stepped forward hugging him, her head rested on his chest, she could hear his heartbeat, and it was surprisingly slow, a steady pace.
"I missed you too" She finally said into his chest, he begun patting her head as they stood in the corridor.
She pulled away from him, taking his hands into hers, she led him into the living room.
"Your house is cozy" He said looking around, taking in everything, he finally sat on the couch pulling Ariana down with him, this made Ariana chuckle.
"What time is it?" She asked.
"Thirty minutes past three" He said checking his phone. He pulled her closer to him a smirk on his place, he cupped her face their lips almost touching.
"Why do you ask?" He whispered, he tilted his head to one side, his thumb caressing her cheeks, he dropped them to her lips , caressing it slowly, this made Ariana close her eyes.
"My mum won't be back till seven" She told him wrapping her arms around his neck, she sat on his lap facing him, their foreheads touching.
He closed the gap between them kissing her lips, he held her waist, pulling her in, she responded to his kiss. Dropping her arms which was around his neck , their lips parted as they were out of breath, she hugged him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"How has it been ?" She asked him.
"Very tiring, I just feel like giving up already" Perry sighed deeply , Ariana pulled away from him sitting next to him.
"It's going to be fine, you have me" She beamed , the boy looked at her, a smile playing on his lips, he felt better around her, he felt a wave of emotions run through him as he looked at her, one was dominant, it gave him strength and made him want to fight for a better future, he felt hope, he knew he could hope, with her by his side, and so he hugged her tightly making her chuckle again.
