The most infuriating fact was that despite his constant assholery, her heart seemed to stupidly skip a beat every time he gazed at her with those devilishly charming eyes. 
She knew she was making a mistake but that didn't stop her from sinking deeper and deeper into his charm. 


All she wanted now was to leave! But leaving hell was not nearly as easy as getting in.

The Tyrant's Wife

He scouted the room for Ximena. Seeing her at his parents' table, he pulled her aside and asked, "did you invite her?"

She frowned at him. "Invite the woman who tried so hard to drive a wedge between me and my man? Are you kidding me?"

He squinted. Who invited her, then? It didn't take long to make a logical guess. His parents. He sat down at their table while Abby made small talk with his friends as though she was close to them.

"I am going to pretend you didn't just curse at us, Liam." His father stared him down.

"It's bad enough you two had Ximena's parents cause trouble because of her. Do you ever know when to stop?" He gritted his teeth. If Ximena didn't spend so much effort making this party work, he would have walked out.
