"I'm bored"
I cried out, lying down on my back on the seat of the carriage, I don't know how long it was already when we drove away.
"At least, I'm not alone, but still human company would've been good"
I said looking at the lion cub that was just staring at me.
"Let's see what Lucianus packed for me…"
I rummaged inside the baskets, there was food, fruit sandwiches, salads, fruits as well…
The second basket is also food, I guess Lucianus still knows that I love food more than anything in the world.
The third basket, food, and books, I scratch my head internally sighing. I wish I had my phone right now, but that's wishful thinking on my part I guess.
"Should I read the books?" I asked the lion cub
"Meow!"
"Alright, I'll take your advise"
I pretended that I could understand the lion cub taking out the black leather book with beautiful golden cursive writing on the title. I read the title.
"Maculata and the Five Suitors"
I seated myself comfortably and opened the book. It was like a storybook when I opened it, it's interesting.
"The author is pretty funny…"
I snickered, I was reading the book until a knock caught my attention, I didn't notice that the carriage stopped already.
"Your Highness, we are momentarily stopping so that the Knights can rest"
Doctor Edgar informed me, I looked behind him, and it was pretty dark already.
"Would you like to step outside?"
"Yes"
He offered a hand to me in which I took, he carefully guided me out of the carriage and down the steps.
The moment I was outside I looked up.
"Wow"
My eyes widened and my breath got taken away. I haven't seen the stars in the city because of light pollution, but I truly wished to see it one day.
This is finally the day that I would see the stars. In another world, in an unknown place, and it is beautiful and breathtaking.
It was a vast sea of twinkling gems, I could see the stars and the galaxy clearly with my own eyes lighting up the night sky.
"It seems the stars have caught your attention, your highness"
"It did and it's beautiful"
"Why don't you sit with the Knights?"
I didn't listen to him walking away from where we were standing, I also noticed fireflies were flying around.
"I've never seen a firefly before…"
I said stepping forward to the field of tall grass, I didn't notice that I was wandering away from where the carriage is.
"Your highness!'
Someone caught my wrist, I turned around to see who it was, a young Knight, he had the hardened expression of seriousness
"Please don't wander away from the carriage your highness, it's fine to follow the fireflies but being too occupied and not being aware of your surroundings is dangerous. The fireflies can also make you lost your highness"
"I didn't notice"
The Knight says that word and a powerful gust of wind made the tall grass bend down, you can clearly see the path, the carriage as well,
I am genuinely surprised at what he did.
"Let's return"

He smiled at me and gave a slight nod looking behind me, I looked to where he was gesturing and fireflies appeared everywhere.
"Whoa"
I looked at the fireflies in awe, it started to fly towards me, it's like Christmas lights blinking on and off, or the stars twinkling, hovering towards me and in front of me.
"It seems that fire is your affinity that's why they are also attracted to you"

"Let's return shall we?"
I smiled at the Knight, the Knight stared at me for a moment before clearing his throat looking away. He leads me out of the tall grass and back to where the carriage is.
"I see the young Knight has led you back, very good job"
"You weren't doing anything Doctor"
The Knight seemed somewhat annoyed for some reason, the Doctor gave a smile at us.
"You are the ones that need to protect her, I'm here for her health"
"You are also obligated to protect her"
"That's enough, Julius"
The commander of the first order of the Knights stepped in between the two men.
"Doctor, I know that you are a carefree man but please cooperate with us so that this escort would go smoothly"
"Very well handled commander"
"Sit with us Princess"
Tents we're already set up, the Knights are also gathered around the bonfire, it's like a camping trip!
I excitedly sat down beside the second commander of the Knights, he welcomed me and gave me a bag of marshmallows and a stick.
"Do you know how to roast a marshmallow, your highness?"
"I do! But I've never tried it"
"Then this is your chance to do so"
I pierced the marshmallows with the stick, then started roasting it, when it turned brown I blew on it and began eating it, it was good!
"How does it taste?"
"It's good!" I answered Sir. Raulyn
I forgot about them indulging myself with the marshmallow, I got preoccupied but then Doctor Edgar suddenly spoke.
"It seems you aren't a regular Princess"
"What do you mean?" I asked him before eating again.
"Princesses won't usually eat with the Knights let alone sat with them, it's prohibited to seat with their masters"
"I'm not their masters though"
"You are, and yet you are fine with them sitting with you"
"We're travelling together, and I don't want to annoy anyone being a whiny Princess, I'm a chill girl"
"Chill?"
"You are cold?"
"Bring a blanket out!"
"Wait! No!' I immediately said
"Chill means, I'm fine with being around you not being cold"
"Interesting word...but Chill means cold here your highness, so please refrain from speaking casually about different words, it may confuse people"
"I'll keep that in mind"
Note to self: Be careful of the words you will say from now on since this is a different world not everyone can understand you.
"Regarding what you have said, Doctor Edgar about us sitting with our master, it is true but if her highness is fine with it then there is nothing to worry about"
I gave a thumbs up to the second commander that said that all of them stared at me…
"This gesture means, that I approve of what you just said"
"This kind of gesture?"
Every Knight looked at their thumb and brought it upwards. They looked very intrigued
"Interesting"
They muttered and nodded in approval, I shrugged and continued eating. But my eye caught something.
"Your ears…"
"Yes, your highness?!" One of the subordinates of the second commander of the Knights replied.
"Is it real?"
The ears on top of his head twitched, I am piqued.
"Yes it is"
He nods, I want to touch it! I stood up, but the Doctor stopped me.
"Your highness you will embarrass yourself I suggest you keep your curiosity to yourself"
"Huh?!"
"I can read minds, remember?" I flushed at the realization.
"Sit down and save yourself from embarrassment"
I sat down again glaring at the Doctor, he chuckled and continued eating. His ears got my attention. I wanted to ask these guys.
"Do Vampires sparkle?"
"No, your highness we do not sparkle"
"Does the Sun hurt you?"
"If it's hot yes it would burn our skin and cause sunburn"
"You don't ignite and turn to ash?"
"Why would we ignite?"
They all looked puzzled at my questions, I proceeded to ask them questions in which they patiently answered and replied.
What I've gotten is a boring answer though, I've expected more from them, like transforming into bats, but they can't, they said they are just like humans.
Although more powerful and amplified, humans and Vampires are closely similar.
"What about running? Do you guys run fast?"
"The same pace as a human could run"
"Huh…"
"We are similar to you than you think your highness"
"What about a werewolf?"
"Wolves is the right term for us, your highness"
The Knight with the dog ears said I gave a short apology and continued to ask.
"Are you similar to Vampires?"
"In psych energy, we only have a partial amount of power compared to a Vampire but when it comes to physical strength there's a difference"
"So you guys can transform into a giant wolf?"
"Only in the season of Blue Moon"
"Season of Blue Moon…" I looked at him strangely "what kind of season is that?"
"Um"
They suddenly became quiet, did I say something strange for them to suddenly fall into silence?
"The season of Blue Moon is where the snow starts falling, it's cold and white."
"You mean winter!" I smacked my head in realization
"???"
All of them looked puzzled yet again. Right, they don't know the terms I'm using
"I should probably learn words and terms from this world"
"Yes, you should" All of them said in unison.
"So you can transform but Vampires can't, what else can you do that Vampires can't do?"
"Run as twice as you"
"So you guys can run fast!"
"Yes, but we also tire out quickly whenever we do that, so we prefer running normally like humans"
"Can you give me an example of how fast you are?"
"If you are for example, far from me, and you are about to fall in a pond, I can use my ability to run fast and catch you before you fall, that's how it works"
"What's the range of distance for you to catch me"
"6 to 5 Kilometres"

"I can spot you from that distance as well but your scent is the one thing that I will catch first, we do rely on our noses than our eyes"

I glared at the Doctor, he just chuckled amused at what was going on.
"May I ask why are you asking us this, your highness?"

I looked at Sir. Alfonso and smiled at him, I explained to them that the human world thinks of Vampires and Werewolves as fictional characters, they laughed at what I said. It looks like I've become a comedian.
"We apologise for our rudeness"
"It's fine, I'm not offended by it or anything"
"We still apologise for our show of discourtesy your highness"
"Hm…" I hummed looking at them "You do have souls right?"
"Isn't it common for a living creature to have a soul?"
"Fair point," I shortly say "But what about crosses or silver stakes?"
"Crosses? Crosses are fashion designs, your highness"
"If you get stabbed by a silver stake would you die?"
"Vampires and Wolves are not immortal your highness we do live longer, but we are still mortal, we can also die when stabbed or hanged we are strong, but we can still die"
"It's getting pretty late already, you've stayed for far enough" Doctor Edgar interrupted
"I'm not sleepy-"
"Yes, you have insomnia I know, but even so you need to try to get used to sleeping early for insomnia to go away now."
I groaned, he led me to the carriage. Everyone told me their good nights before I entered the carriage.
"Good night your highness"
"Night"
The lion cub jumped from where he was sitting a moment ago and curled up to sleep. Doctor Edgar, closes the carriage door, I laid down on my seat.
"Did you follow me around?"
"Meow…"
"I didn't notice you follow me"
"..."
"Good night to you too and sweet dreams"
