Preparation (3.3)

The Emperor greeted Seraphine with wide arms, the princess giggled at her uncle's demeanour.

"Join me"

Zeno guided Seraphine towards the Emperor, the aid pulled out the chair while the princess sat on it.

"Sorry for waking you up, uncle…"

"Not to worry"

The Emperor happily says, the servants give them their breakfast, they start eating quietly.

'The man from before also has blond hair'

Seraphine's mind wanders around, her thoughts on yesterday's event.

'But Uncle isn't the only one who has blond hair, the colour of the hair of the people here ranges from, blond, red and brunette...it's going to be hard to distinguish who is who here...'

The Emperor glances at Seraphine who was lost in her thoughts.

'The most notable thing that caught my attention yesterday was his emerald eyes…'

"My niece"

The princess jumps at the sudden call of the Emperor her knees hitting the bottom of the table.

"Yes?!"

"Why are you so tense?"

"I am?!" She says nervously.

"Nevermind…"

Cailum shakes his head and continues eating, after they were done, the plates were taken away from the table.

"Why don't we visit the Rosé Garden together this time, my dear niece"

"Um…"

"It will be fine, I assure you that I would not abandon you there"

'I can't refuse now, can I?

"Alright"

"Wonderful!"

Cailum and Seraphine get up, but not before Cailum offers his arm to the princess.

"Thanks, uncle…"

The Emperor nods and they proceed to go to the Rosé Garden, the servants following behind.

-Rosé Garden-

The servants only follow them to the front entrance of the Garden not proceeding any further

"You know your way around, right? Uncle…"

"Yes, no need to fret"

They went inside the garden safely arriving at the centre of it, where a huge tree is in the centre, a table chair is prepared for them.

"Wait…" Seraphine raises a brow at the servants on standby, "I thought no one can enter but royalty?"

"That is what the servants of the Sun Palace, as well as the Corona Palace, has been taught, only the Core, as well as the Prominence servants, may enter, WITH the approval and permission of any royalty, I permitted these servants to be here, that is why we are standing before them."

Seraphine nodded, the servants greeted them with the usual greetings and they both sat at the table chair, but before the princess could sit, Cailum assisted her.

"You didn't need to do that Uncle…"

"It is a Gentleman's duty"

Cailum shortly says before being seated himself.

Servants pushed a trolley of sweets and tea towards the side of the table.

"Isn't having sweets a little too early, uncle?"

'Did I just sound like Gabriel?'

"They are just snacks, feel free to eat the snacks or drink the tea in your own accord"

"Pudding and Tea"

Seraphine kindly asks the maid, the maid serves the requested delicacies to her, she begins to slowly eat it.

"Just tea for me"

'Oh, should I wait for the Emperor to be served tea? Or sip his tea first?'

"Hm? Is something the matter?"

'I didn't even think of it…'

"Continue, don't mind me"

"Thanks…"

The princess proceeds to eat the pudding, the maid serves the tea to the Emperor shortly after.

"By the way, my niece"

'He's always saying 'my niece' I find it cute'

"Yes, uncle?"

"The money you have requested"

Cailum pulls out a pouch full of gold coins, the princess's eyes sparkled in delight.

"Thank you~"

"Spend wisely, my niece"

"I will!"

Seraphine happily receives the pouch full of gold coins, she sets it to the side, her lips curved into a smile.

"Uncle…"

"What is it?"

"Why did you ask me to spend time with you today?"

"Ah…" He gave a faint smile, "I missed Phoebe and seeing you, you are reminding me of her...I am filling the void of my longing for the sweet smile of my precious daughter on you…"

"W-What?" Seraphine looked nervous.

"Do not worry, I am not replacing you for her, I also want to get to know you as well"

"There's nothing to know"

"I doubt that, you have interesting words with you"

"What do you mean?"

"Like, 'See you later', and 'Chill' was it?"

"That's slang words from my world"

"May I have your permission to teach me?"

Seraphine blushes at his Uncle's request, she tilts her head looking amused at her uncle.

'He doesn't need to ask like that, just ask normally'

"What do you want to know?"

"Anything you can teach me"

"Hm"

Princess Seraphine began to teach the Emperor slang words from her world and the meaning of it, such as, FIRE, DANK, LOW-KEY, SQUAD, SAVAGE, SIKE, SALTY, SHADE.

"Hahaha"

"It's strange...but those are some, there's a lot, that's the basic of it"

"That's FIRE" His uncle tried the words that he was taught by his niece

"Yup, just like that"

"Your world is very peculiar and quite interesting"

'Says the Emperor of a Vampire World'

The Emperor chuckled, the princess raised a brow at him, but she shrugs and continues eating, while the Emperor talks to her, the princess eyes land on a window of the palace.

'That person looks familiar'

Seraphine focuses her gaze at the windowpane, a red-haired man that she realises is the Chancellor of the Sky Kingdom, looking very agitated.

'Who is he talking to?'

There's a silhouette of a man leaning on the windowpane but because of the curtain, she can't see who it is.

"What are you looking at?"

"Huh?!"

The Emperor looked at her curiously, she shakes her head and returns her attention to him.

"I wanted to ask"

"Yes?"

'This has been bugging me since this morning'

"Vampire's can change the colour of their eyes right?"

"To a shade of red, yes"

"What about other colours?"

"That's ridiculous when a vampire has a rush of psych energy within them, their eyes glow, the natural colour first, but mixed with emotion it becomes red, it's not just anger, it depends on the range of emotion"

"Wow!"

"The stronger the range of emotion a deeper shade of it, it becomes."

'Just like my powers…' the princess thought

"Can I ask you another question?"

"I don't see why not?"

"Is there another person in the palace that has emerald eyes?"

The Emperor looked at the servants on standby, specifically the blond one's.

"There are a lot of people with emerald eyes, the ones that have blond hair have either blue or emerald, why?"

"Uhhh…"

"Did someone bother you?"

"Well…"

Emperor Cailum waved a hand to one of the maids, the maid went to his side, her head lowered.

"Your majesty?"

"Call every single servant that has blond hair with emerald eyes in the palace, I do not care if they are servants or Knights bring them here, make them kneel before me and have them confess"

"W-Wait!" Seraphine hurriedly interrupt

"What is it?"

"Confess what?"

"Have them confess of the crime they have done to you"

"No!" She shakes her head "there is NO, crime happening, happened" she corrected "I was just asking out of curiosity"

"Is that the truth?"

"YES!" She firmly answers.

"Nevermind then," Cailum tells the maid, the maid bows and returns to where she stood.

'I feel like I almost got someone killed because of what I was asking!'

Seraphine anxiously says in her mind, her heart pounding.

'I should be careful, I don't want anyone to die because of my carelessness'

"Are you prepared for tomorrow?"

"You mean the coronation, right?"

Cailum nods, Seraphine fidgets at her seat in which her uncle notices.

"Nervous?"

"Very much"

"Even if you make a mistake it is alright"

"How many people will gather tomorrow?"

"One hundred and fifty thousand guests will be here tomorrow, witnessing your crowning and engagement ceremony"

'I feel like passing out, they are just going to watch a single person be crowned...is their whole family there?'

"You became a bit pale my precious niece"

"I'm overwhelmed at how many people will watch"

"The people who will watch is ranging to Barons to Marquess their whole family is there"

'I thought so'

"The Marchioness is already impressed with the result of the etiquette lessons that you have shown, there is no need to worry."

"I'll have an etiquette lesson later, I just remembered"

"Yes, I will be watching as well"

'That made me more nervous'

"You are fine" Cailum reassures with a smile.

"Uncle…" Seraphine looks down at her untouched tea.

"Hm?"

"What's the King of the Sky Kingdom like?"

Cailum stared at Seraphine for a brief moment before he gave a warm smile.

"He is a smart, reliable person, I wouldn't agree to his proposal if he wasn't, my dear niece"

'I'm worried that he's an ugly, fat man...I can't help think that since the history of royal families in my world are not pleasing to the eye or the personality'

"The King of the Sky Kingdom is maybe called a King, but he is a young male adult, that has handsome features, a very fit physique and a very kind personality, I should know since, I know him personally"

'You know him...unfortunately, I don't, I'm nervous to know him, I'm not good at meeting new people, I guess I just have to trust my uncle on this'

"Trust me"

"I trust you, uncle"

Cailum nods, he then looks at the sky and chuckles to himself.

"It's almost time for our dinner"

"That was fast"

"Let us return to the Sun Palace"

'I forgot to eat the pudding…'

"If you want I can ask the maids to bring the sweets with us" Seraphine looks at the servants.

"Sorry for the trouble"

The servants only bowed as a reply to her, she gave an awkward laugh at them.

"Please bring the sweets to the Sun Palace"

"Certainly, your majesty"

"Now then," Cailum rose from his seat and so did Seraphine, he offered his arm in which the princess took, of course she didn't forget the pouch of gold that she has set aside. "Let us return"

"We're going to head back the same way right?"

"Hahaha, Yes"

"Lead the way uncle"

While both of them walk the path to the exit to return to the rose garden where their servants are waiting, Cailum couldn't help but smile at his niece.

"I could never let my brother's daughter be in the hands of just 'some' man"

"What are you talking about uncle?"

"Daughters are more precious than the world itself" He mutters and places a gentle kiss on his niece's forehead.

"T-Thanks?"

Cailum chuckled to himself, while Seraphine just gave a curious expression at him, but before they exited the Rosé Garden the Honey Hornet greeted the two, in which Seraphine screamed in terror, but Cailum taught her that it was harmless, in the end, he convinced Seraphine to pet its head, despite the princess' protest.
