Chapter 2: Ladies in Waiting

"My my Bella, is this the last minute relative you so said?" The girl with Auburn hair tied to a braided pony her eyes at me looking up and down

"Yes.... She's Amara Hollow my dearest cousin" Bella said as she shot me a look "This is my two Ladies in waiting Amara, The girl with Auburn hair is Roxanne while the girl with Same black hair with a strand of white is Emily"

I looked at Roxanne who gave me a warm dry smile while I looked at Emily, she looked back with a scowl and a unwelcoming eyes

"Are you sure about her?" Emily asked as she slipped her tea

"Yes Emily.... She is our only replacement to Anna" Bella said, Defending me while I stood there like an idiot

"My why does Anna have to get sick!" Roxanne complained, I got the feeling I wasn't welcome and tried to escape them.

"It seems like I am not welcome here" I straightforwardly told them which made them jump.

"Are you really sure about her Bella?" Emily kept pushing till Bella gave her a Menacing stare

"Yes Emily, and this is the last time I answer this" she said coldly and turned to me "Dear cousin.... Do you have any more day dresses?"

I was surprised of what she asked me All that was in my trunk was my Uniforms and one Formal Blue dress that was given by my mother

"Day dresses?" I said looking at her confused "I have uniforms from my school and one Formal Blue dress that was given by my mother."

Roxanne was sipping her tea peacefully till she heard I have no day dresses only the blue formal dress, and she Spat some tea out and dabbed the napkin on her lips

"Emily... Call the seamstress, Let's see what dear Amara had bought with her" Her voice was shakey and it was like she was scared for life on what's inside my Trunk

Emily grumbled and went outside to call a seamstress while Bella me and Roxanne went to my trunk and opened it

Roxanne was holding out a blue beautiful dress

"We will have to make due with this tonight" Roxanne said, I was confused

"Tonight?" I asked, clearly not knowing what's going on.

"We have a Ball Tonight" Bella interrupted, while I looked at my dress

While we were talking about tonight's Ball, Emily came in with the seamstress

"Ladies is there anything I could help you with?" The seamstress asked.

"Yes, we need a wardrobe for this lady here" Bella said pointing to me.

"Alright then Lady Bella, may she step up to me so I could take some Measurements?" The seamstress asked as Roxanne Gently pushed me towards her

"Her dresses needs to be done Asap since she only has one formal dress" Roxanne said to the Seamstress taking my measurements

"I'll see what I can do Lady Roxanne" the seamstress replied taking the last few measurements to my body

After the seamstress left the room I turned to them who was now enjoying tea

"You guys are going to give me Dresses?" I asked, while Roxanne gestured to sit beside her and I followed

"Yes, I suppose.... We cannot have you wear the same dress everyday can't we?" Roxanne said giving me a warm smile while sipping her tea

"Have she graduated?" Emily asked her teeth clenched and for some reason she hated me

"Is there something wrong?" I asked her since she was giving me an awful look

"I was just wondering" Emily shot back, then Bella cleared her throat

"She is about to graduate Emily" Bella said defending me

I have no intention to tell Bella and the others that I have been dropped out, since my unethical behaviour was a disturbance to the teachers teaching

Before Emily could protest we heard a knock on the door which sent all four of us to jump on our seats

Emily opened the door and I saw a maid giving her a bunch of letters

Emily went to Bella and gave it to them, Bella thoroughly checked them

"Some of these letters are from your school Amara" Bella said which sent terror down my spine

I can't let Bella know I'm a school drop out since I am now staying at the palace

Bella opened first the school letter and read the contents of it, her eyes widening as she read it, I could see she was trying to process everything inside her brain

"Amara dear.... Why didn't you tell me the school suspended you!?" Bella said, I came up with a good excuse only to be cut off by Emily while Roxanne was wide eye looking at me

"She dropped out?!" Emily said "we can't have a school drop out here Bella!!" Emily smirking at me for some reason

"Bella look I can explain" I pushed through the conversation, as Bella massaged her nose bridge

"Bella, I'm sure she learned a thing or two when she was there" Roxanne cutting in the conversation defending me, I gave her a thank you look and she gave me back an warm smile

"Tch~ I bet she doesn't even know table manners" Emily scoffed which ticked me off

"I believe I have.... You can ask me any question you like" I shot back at her

Emily's scowl turned into a mischievous smile

"Then what fork do you use when your about to eat salad?" She said gesturing at the front of her where the spoons and forks lies and for me to point out where

I hesitated a little but pointed at the Salad fork, which I was correct since Emily's smile turned upside down

"Next question..... How does a lady sit?" She said gesturing for me to show her

I smiled and crossed my legs sitting up straight and putting my hands on my lap which I earned a reassuring nod from Roxanne and an smile from Bella

"Like this.... If you want boys to notice your girly presence" I smirked at Emily whose now scowling at me

"It seems that I was correct" Roxanne said nodding at me I smiled back, she looked at the big clock next to us and it struck five, her eyes widened

"Come now Emily, Amara... We need to prepare Bella for tonight's ball and also prepare ourselves" she said putting down the tea and going to the wide closet

Emily spent no time to lose, she jumped up from her seat and walked or rather ran to where Roxanne was

While Bella was looking at me didn't move a muscle, Not another second we heard debating noises inside the closet, the two emerge with a grassy green coloured dress while the other with an Indigo one

Bella turned her attention to them while I did the same, Emily and Roxanne was debating about what should Bella wear for tonight's Ball and since they can't choose they chose me to spy at other Debutante to see what they were wearing

"Emily, The grassy green dress is perfect for Bella" Roxanne pushed Emily a bit to make her get out of the way

"Oh please Roxe! Indigo fits perfect for Bella" Emily said backing up a little

Bella had said nothing, she just looked at the two figuring out what to wear between the both dresses

"Why don't we see if any Debutante is wearing the same color" Emily said finally giving up on the debate and looking at me

"Good idea, Amara go and see what the other Debutante is going to wear to the ball" Roxanne agreed with her shooting me the look and tilts her head at the door to get a move on

"What?! Why me?!" I complained

"Because you are going to do nothing here" Emily shot back, glaring at me I groaned and walked out the room

"Emily This is the on-" was the last thing I heard when I closed the door, I looked at the hallway and it was quiet I only hear faint titers inside each dorm

I breathe deep and walked passing through a maid who was looking at me weirdly, I noticed her uniform, she was wearing black dress up to her knees and an white apron

I looked at myself and found out I looked exactly like a maid, now my question with why People was looking at me weirdly was answered.

As I walked passed down the hall I heard a lot of Debutante's talking about their dresses

I saw one of the Debutantes room was a bit open and decided to peek through it and go back as fast as I can

"That's is such Magnificent Green dress Lady Eagle" one of the girls said as I eaves drop

I peeked a little inside and saw a magnificent Green grass dress that was being held by a girl, I guessed was Lady Eagle who was dancing with it,

"Of course, and I am sure that this dress will make the Crown Prince and others turn heads" The girl laughed "They would be all looking at me"

I smiled clearly knowing what they are now going to wear and left the spot where I have been standing eavesdropping

I entered our room where I see Emily Bella and Roxanne eating food before preparing themselves to go to tonights Ball

My stomach rumbled at the smell of freshly baked bread, and I sat across them getting the bread from a plate

"Have you known what will they wear?" Roxanne said her eyes closed as she bit into her bread

"Yes, I heard this lady Eagle is wearing green tonight" I said rampaging through my bread

"Excellent!" Emily said putting down her half finished bread and her hands finding the Tea pot, apparently she was highly satisfied that Bella was going to wear her dress

I have no intentions on being pretty right now, I was concerned for myself if I was to die of starvation as I continued to rampage the food Infront of me

The clock stroke six and maids rushed in getting our plates that was used, Roxanne and Bella went into one room while Emily goes into another talking about something for her to wear

They told me where was my room, apparently my room was next to Bella, and I stood up going to my room getting ready for tonight's Ball

Five minutes have passed and I was wearing my Blue Formal Dress that was given by my dearest mother, while Emily emerged with a White one,

We went inside the room where Bella and Roxanne was, and saw Bella beautifully dressed and was now sitting Infront of her mirror her hair getting fixed by Roxanne

Roxanne hasn't been able to fix herself since she helped Bella to get ready

"Oh dear~!" Bella exclaimed "the seamstress seem to forgot my scarf!"

"Bella.... Why would you order a scarf?" Emily asked sitting on her bed jumping up and down like a normal friend

"Probably because she could freeze tonight Emily..... Use your brain" I said earning a scowl and a glare from her

"Since your so Confident" Emily said fighting her smirk "why don't you go and get it~"

I looked at her clearly hating her now, since the Ball was to start Seven and the royals would enter the Ball at eight I cursed under my breath

"Oh.... No need, we can't let Amara be late on her first day of the Ball can we?" Bella said waving her hand dismisively

"Oh no.... We wouldn't want you to freeze can we?" Emily chuckled shooting me an look

"It's okay Bella..." I said clenching and unclenching my fist to keep it from going to Emily's face "I'll go get it"

I left the room with titers inside clearly hearing Emily's triumph laugh which annoyed me, I walked around the hall clearly finding where the seamstress quarters is

I groaned as I can't find the seamstresses quarters which led me to wondering around the palace halls aimlessly
