CHAPTER ONE

"Summer! S.O.L. just released the BEST song ever! You have got to listen to it, I swear!" Summer hummed in response while finishing her pile of homework.

It was another day of Cadence's loud blabbering about her favorite boy band. Summer had a pile of books in front of her while her auburn-hair friend, Cadence sat on her bed, pretty much squealing. "Oh, and Jett changed his hair color! I can't believe that He went from his wonderful black hair to mahogany! He looked so good in black, but he's sexy in mahogany!" Summer furrows her brows. 'How did she even differentiate his hair color? Mahogany could still look black in front of the camera,' Summer thought. She sighed. She knew that Cadence probably had sources all over the internet, which was somehow quite scary too.

"Aidan changed his hair color to a black clean cut too!" Before Summer knew it, Cadence's phone was right in front of her face. The photo was taken pretty much shakily, but you could tell it was Aidan with his tan skin and eyes that everyone knows.

"Where did you even get this, Cay?" Aside from the photo being blurry, it seemed like the boy in the photo didn't want to be taken pictures of. He had an annoyed look on his face-- clenched jaws, narrow eyes, and lips pressed together.

"A fan posted it on twitter! Do you see how handsome he looks with that hairstyle?" Cadence giggles as she spun loosely back to lay on Summer's bed. "You both would look so adorable together, you know!"

'And, here we go again…' Summer breaths an exasperated sigh. Summer has always been supportive of Cadence's plans, but her delusional self towards the possibility of dating her idols have never been part of her support for her. Ever since she made Summer "pick" between the five-member band, She's been going on non-stop about how Aidan and Summer would look good together and even pointing out that they'd go on a double date together with her and her love, Jett. Summer loves Cadence as a sister and seeing her go cuckoo over her delusional relationship was hard for her.

"Cadence," Summer spun her chair around to look at her friend with a bright smile on her lips as she lays on her bed with her legs up and kicking, "We've talked about this, right?" Summer watched her friend's smile break into a pout. It's been almost an everyday topic for both of them. Summer had to make sure that her friend wouldn't really go insane because of her delusions. She was never the "advise-material" friend nor the one who's absolutely good at sweet-talking. She's rather blunt, but she's still very careful about what to tell Cadence. She was her only friend, after all.

"I know, I know. I don't need your "reality check" again, Sum…" Cadence puffed her velvety chubby cheeks. "But you know, there's still a wide possibility of dating them! We live in the same country, the same city, anything's possible!" Cadence crossed her arms to her chest, staring at her friend, who looks very much done with all the things she's saying.

"You won't follow them around, okay?" Summer said intently, placing a strong emphasis on each word.

"I won't!" Cadence scrambles to grab her bag from the bedside table, "We're going to lower the chances then!" She pulls two-piece of paper, just by the sight of it, Summer knew she was off to something bad. "We're going to S.O.L.'s concert!" Cadence squealed.

' Just great '

Summer Montoya, 18 years old. She's pretty much a normal high school student whose current goal is to get into her dream college. Summer believes in "status quo" and her status would always be behind Cadence's bright light, she never complains though. Summer's first friend when she moved was Cadence and her presence has always brought brightness in her probably dull life. Summer studies her hardest while Cadence has the playful side that she's missing. Summer would either be stuck inside her personal playground inside the books or sitting in front of her piano. It's always been her safe haven, her piano. She finds so much happiness as the keys burst into sounds once she plays a note, she finds peace. It's the only thing that she remembers from her childhood. Summer was caught in a car accident 6 years ago. She can't seem to remember anything from the time before that and trying to recover her memory would only give her nothing but severe headaches. Her parents decided to not let her remember anything and let her start anew instead, and that's what she's doing right now, following her parent's wishes of starting anew.

"Summer, Good Morning!" Her mother gave her a kiss on the cheeks as soon as she headed down the stairs. "Come and grab breakfast before Cadence comes!" The table was full, incredibly full even as if they were about to feed the whole city.

"What's with the meal, mom?" Her eyes widen upon the sight of the whole pile of pancakes and English Muffins in front of her, "Are you feeding the whole town later?" Her mother giggled, moving the pile of food to place a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her.

"We're delivering breakfast catering later, sorry for the mess, sweetie." Her mother owns a catering business. ' I guess the kitchen broke down, that's why she's making all of this here ' Summer thought. "You're heading to the concert today, right? Will you be sleeping at Cadence's tonight?" Summer nodded.

"Probably, mom. You know how Cadence is when it comes to S.O.L., she'd probably talk to me all night long after the concert about how amazing they are!" They both broke off a laugh at the topic. It was evident to everyone at how much Cadence loves S.O.L., it wasn't an opinion at all but a complete fact. Cadence would squeal anywhere and to anyone, if S.O.L. updates something on their social media account, sometimes even in the middle of class.

"Just take care of yourself and of Cadence too, okay? I packed some sandwiches for you to eat on the way, too!" Summer seriously thinks that her mother was an absolute angel. She looks so… heavenly and talks so sweetly as if it were possible to even be so sweet all the time, she made it possible. "Sweetie, I think Cadence's outside already!" Summer snapped back to reality, finishing her breakfast before taking the sandwiches inside her bag and off to kiss her mother goodbye. She heads out of the house to see Cadence in her black S.O.L. shirt with a denim jacket on her shoulder, a black plaid skirt paired with her stud black ankle boots, paired with her long sunflower accessories and her wavy auburn hair was tied in two-dutch braids with sunflower bands

"I thought you might take forever!" Cadence rolls her eyes playfully before pulling her inside the car, signaling her driver to go on ahead. Cadence is, as obvious as it seems, very rich. Her parents ruled the business industry in their city, but she was never that of a spoiled brat, but she is quite spoiled though, but never a brat.

"Sorry for wanting to finish breakfast," Summer chuckles, handing her the sandwich that her mother made them. "Mom made this for us, by the way." Cadence's face brightened. Her mom's sandwiches were the world's best, or at least in their opinion, and both of them have eaten a lot of sandwiches before.

"I love your mom's sandwiches!"

"Don't we all?" They chuckled.

"Oh, and Summer?" Summer looked at her, "You cleaned up well!" Summer couldn't hide the proud grin. She was very proud of her fashion sense, especially for that day. She wore a white see-through blouse on top of a yellow undergarment and a white ragged jumper short and white sneakers. She tied up the look by curling her hair before tying it in a high ponytail with the sunflower band that Cadence gave her (She says that the sunflower is one of S.O.L. 's symbols). "You ready?" Cadence asked.

"I think so?" Summer shrugged. Was she ready to be crushed by the amount of, probably sweaty, fans trying to reach for their idol? Or to break her eardrums from all the screams? Nope, she definitely wasn't.

But it turns out, that wasn't the only thing that she should be preparing for.
