David did not let Claire's hand go away until he arrived in front of the birthing room.

"Please call Joona. I want to see Joona," Claire asked, and David continued to nod and smile reassuringly at her. David did not come in and chose to wait outside. He could have come in and accompanied her, but he decided not to see it. Now Claire was alone inside, and David was waiting outside thinking.
