Chapter 9

Claudius was back at his castle. He was impatient to wake his subordinates up. Claudius asked Avo how far he had repaired the corridors and the throne room.

"Master, We are almost ready; in one hour or two, there will be repaired.''

''Perfect, a good presentation is essential. Well, wake me up when the adventurers are almost here.''

Claudius closed his eyes after telling Avo what to do. After a few minutes, he fell asleep on his throne.

When the sun rose, the group decided to continue to the castle they greed blinded their reason. Zarul was still not at his best. His legs were damaged; he needed a real rest to be back at his top form. Zarul insisted that it was for the best to continue their journey.

Alea was astonished that Zarul wanted to continue, injured like that he would be a pièce of cake to kill both of them, but she just agreed. The rest of their journey to the treasure was uneventful, strangely uneventful. Alea and the rest didn't encounter any monster or beast.

Jaartheal was beginning to feel bad when he could glimpse at the castle, but Alea shrugs at him.

In the castle, Avo woke Claudius and told him that the intruder was in front. When Claudius looked in the room, he could see Avo and a dozen spirits standing a row behind him. He ordered his freshly created spirits to hide, and he assigned them different positions in the castle.

Aurora was gaining confidence because she was nearing the castle. Alea and Jaartheal didn't try anything funny, but they also didn't say much the rest of the way; it looked like they were plotting something against the rest of the group.

When the adventurer arrived in front of the big door, it suddenly opened itself.

They looked at Aurora with a questioning gaze. Jaartheal asked her:

''Ýou didn't say that the door of the castle was magic at the inn. Is this normal?'' But Aurora didn't answer his question. She saw that the interior of the castle was not the same as when she visited.

Jaartheal was annoyed that he didn't receive an answer from her, so he pushed her violently aside and entered the castle without hesitation. But he was quickly stopped after taking a few steps inside by a strange light entity.

" Hello there, stranger, my name is Avo, one of the spirits created by my master. You can follow me inside,'' said Avo, the light entity.

Strangely enough, everybody followed Avo without asking questions. When the group entered the entrance hall, the door closed itself. The big noise that the entry made woke them out of their trance.

Alea was the first to speak.''What did the hell happen? When did we enter?''

Jaartheal answered'' I think that a mind spell bewitched us for a few seconds.''

Shocked by his response,'' how is this possible our equipment should defend against that.''

''It means that the magic power used for the spell overpowered our equipment. This is not good. We need to get out of here, Alea.!''

Without wasting a second, Alea and Jaartheal ran to the gigantic door and tried to open it.

Unfortunately, the entry didn't move for one bit. But Avo, the light entity, was right behind them, ready to strike them down. The couple could feel terrible pressure on them coming from the small light entity.

" I would have killed you right now for disrespecting my master's hospitality by trying to run away, but he wants to speak with all of you. So I will give you two options; the first one is to see my master with your own two-leg, the second one is that I can drag your half-dead body to him. You will, of course, be healed before seeing him.''

Avo said all this with the most respectful tone possible that it surprised the all group by the cruelty of those words.

Out of panic, Alea cast a water ball spell and fired it against Avo. But the butler Avo just shrugged it off like the attack was nothing to him.

'' I see that you chose the second option—what a waste of time.''

You could feel the disgust in Avo's voice. Before anyone else could react, Avo was already standing in front of Alea with his fist in the air. But he never touched her. A loud voice could be heard in the corridor.

''Avo, it is not necessary to hurt them bring them as fast as possible to the throne room.''

Without hesitation, Avo directly went on his knee. ''

Of course, Master, It should be done as you wish.''

Zarul didn't say anything in the few minutes that they encountered Avo, but he was shaking from fear from his core. He could feel the power of Avo, which means that he was far above his own level. He could not even see him move his fist when he was going to hit Alea.

'That is one of the creations of that man. How strong is he to create a being like this.'

Aurora had an opposite reaction compared to the rest; she had a big smile on her face. She knew that she bet on the right horse when she asked Claudius to take revenge for her.

Jaartheal saw the smile on Aurora's face, his handsome face distorting from rage as he knew that she had planned all of this.

He lunged at her, wanting to kill her before he died from the Master the castle, but Avo quickly stopped him. His will is absolute, peasant.''

Without saying anything else, the pressure from earlier forced Jaartheal to his knee.

Alea still didn't move since the attack of Avo, Her eyes were lifeless, but she was still breathing. The incredible force of the aftershock of the attack knocked her out.

''In place of causing troubles, you should help your girlfriend over there. It looks like she is unconscious.

Zarul was silent all time. He didn't want to confront Avo. He knew that his life was in the hands of Aurora, and he resigned to it.

Absolute silence was reigning in the corridor Before Aurora broke by asking if they should proceed further in the castle.''

Avo looked at her ' Of course, miss Aurora we will be on her way when this lowly elf wakes up,'' he said while pointing his finger to Alea, still standing in front of the door like a statue.

When Jaartheal wanted to get up to wake Alea up, he could feel the pressure on him disappear. He quickly went to Alea, who fell on her knee, gasping for air when Jaartheal touched her shoulder.

''What…. Happened… Jaar..theal' still gasping for her Jaartheal, quickly explaining the situation to her.

Alea, still trembling while looking at Avo's back, had a hateful expression while looking at Alea and looked at with disappointment at the silent Zarul.

''I see that everybody is ready to go and see the master. Let's go!''

You could feel the happiness in Avo's voice; he was thrilled to see his master again, even if he saw him before joining the group of adventurers.

They walked until they saw a majestic iron door full of gems and strange inscriptions.

'' BEFORE ENTERING DO NOT LOOK AT THE MASTER DIRECTLY WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET IT! ''

Behind the door, Claudius was on his throne with a veil hanging in front of him. But you could see his gold eyes piercing through the cover.

" At last, they are here!''
