The incomparable lustre

The lives of the Evans twins were rather eventful, to say the least. Kevin Evans was three minutes older than his brother Melvin Evans. Kevin was always more cunning and clever than Melvin. Though it was not like Melvin was entirely a foolish person, he was not as clever as Kevin.

Even though they were twins, both of them were completely different in appearance. Melvin had red hair and a freckled face, light blue eyes and a bulkier frame; on the other hand, Kevin had blonde hair and silver eyes with a lean but muscular physique. Kevin was 3 inches taller than Melvin too.

It didn't matter that both of the brothers' looks were different from each other. Because both of them had the same temperament, nature and mindset. All of their likes and dislikes were almost the same. This became the cause of many people's ruined lives.

Kevin and Melvin didn't belong to a rich family. It was not that their family was poor, but their family was an average family who couldn't give them money for mindless spending.

Thus, as they went to high school, they thought of an idea: to become the friends of a rich second-generation spoilt child. In this way, they could enjoy all the pleasures they wanted without even spending a penny.

Kevin had seen the sidekicks of those spoilt brats in his junior high school, enjoying everything for free. He knew all about it. He just needed to say some flattering words, and the brats would throw money like it was just some blank paper. Thus, they started to coax their parents to send them to the best high school in the city.

Hence, when they entered high school, they spotted their targets. The three richest students of St Bruno High School: the three princes of the school.

 The first and the richest – Luo Xi Ying.

The second – Sage Saetang.

And the third – Mei Wang.

Luo Xi Ying was the richest, and Sage and Mei Wang were almost equally wealthy. They thought they would try to be the lackey of all of them.

However, the plan to be a sidekick of Luo Xi Ying failed before it could start. Because they didn't think that Luo Xi Ying would be a diligent and hard-working student who didn't like keeping sidekicks. After all, he was the number one student of the school and student council president who had great achievements.

They had never seen a rich second generation like him. He never went to play like other boys, nor did he hold grand parties. He didn't even have a girlfriend, even though all the girls were dreaming about him. He was the most handsome and eligible bachelor in those girls' eyes.

One time Kevin asked a girl, who had known Luo Xi Ying for a long time but was always rejected by him every time she proposed, why Luo Xi Ying was different from any other rich boy. 

The girl then told him that Luo Xi Ying's father passed away when he was little. His mother raised him alone along with handling their business. She handled it so well that in a few years, they became one of the richest families in the city.

His mother was always very tired after handling all the business matters, but she always used her rest time to teach Luo Xi Ying morals so that he didn't become a brat like other young masters.

In this way, she would get too tired, but she never complained. Luo Xi Ying loved his mother dearly, so he did as his mother instructed. 'He is a mama's boy,' were the girl's words.

What Kevin or the girl did not know about Luo Xi Ying was that he never dated because he always saw his parents as an ideal couple who loved each other very much no matter the circumstances.

 When he told his mother that he was gay, she accepted him with open arms. She told him to always listen to his heart, not the outside people. But Luo Xi Ying never found any boys around him that could make his heart quiver.

Until one day, after his graduation, he was kidnapped by some people and strangely saved by a petite boy who had seen him being kidnapped. That was the beginning of a beautiful story for Luo Xi Ying and Jay Ahai.

But that story is for another time...

Meanwhile, when Kevin and Melvin couldn't befriend Luo Xi Ying, they tried with Mei Wang and Sage.

In a short amount of time, their group became popular. Kevin and Melvin enjoyed every type of pleasure with Mei Wang and Sage. Until that day...

That day they went to an ancient mountain range from where the Mei family collected some of the herbs for their perfume business. Originally none of them wanted to go to a remote and ancient mountain range where there was nothing enjoyable for their liking, but then Mei Wang suggested that they could have some 'wild fun' there. Henceforth all of them went with Mei Wang and Mei Shao.

They returned after a week.

When they returned to their house, they couldn't help but feel scared due to what happened there.

Yet, no one was willing to be called a coward by others. Everyone made their excuse to leave the country. But their lie could be detected by the fact that all of them vanished into thin air. Nobody could reach them except Mei Wang.

All of them left the country without telling anyone besides Mei Wang. Only Mei Wang didn't go because, according to him, all of them were cowards who got scared by some myths. He was so proud of the fact that he was the bravest out of all of them.

However… if Mei Wang had listened to his friends, he might have been saved from Aman. He could have left the country and got himself lost among the countless people on this planet. Alas! It was his foolishness.

Or death had already laid the trap for Mei Wang and his friends' inevitable demise...

Kevin also managed his façade of not being afraid of anything. He behaved like he was not scared, like Mei Wang. But his annoying dear brother urged him to go with him.

After so many years of being together, Kevin started to dislike his brother more as the days passed.

He was jealous of his brother too.

Melvin was rather close to Mei Wang, and he was close to Sage. In other words, you could say that Melvin was the sidekick of Mei Wang and Kevin was the lackey of Sage Saetang.

On the one hand, Mei Wang spent money like water with his brother but never asked for anything in return. On the other hand, Sage always manipulated him. He made him do strange things that sometimes he could not understand. For example, today he asked him to do something which he still can't understand.

Their dislike made their brotherly relationship reach an extreme level, and when he came to know that his 'lovely' brother died in an accident, he didn't even bat an eyelash, nor did he go back for his funeral. Although he felt a little lost, he immediately forgot the feeling. Because at that time he was having some fun with beauties, and he didn't think that going there was that important.

Anyway, his brother was already dead. He was probably at peace now. Before his death, Melvin had called Kevin, ranting about someone returning—claiming he was terrified that "he" would kill him. Kevin had brushed it off as nonsense. How could that person possibly come back?

Money has a strange effect on people. They chase it relentlessly, and in the process, either forget the ones they love or begin to see themselves above everyone else. It's rare to find a wealthy family that lives without grudges, without secrets. On the other hand, in homes where money is scarce, love often thrives—family members holding each other up even in the harshest of times.

That was once true for Melvin and Kevin Evans. Long before ambition clouded their bond, there had been genuine brotherhood between them. Kevin had once thrown punches at school bullies just to protect his younger twin. And Melvin? He used to save his share of treats from their parents, just in case Kevin came home late. They had shared laughter, dreams, and the joy of knowing they would never have to worry about money again.

But as their hunger for more grew, the warmth between them faded. Greed replaced love. And by the time Melvin died, Kevin's sorrow lasted no more than five minutes.

Today, Kevin was packing his stuff to go back. With the help of Mei Wang and Sage, both he and his brother had already established a partnership firm. Their business was doing great, and he felt even happier that he was the sole owner of their firm now. He was living quite comfortably here.

However, a few days ago Mei Wang had called him and told him and Sage to come back. Kevin didn't want to go back, but when Mei Wang told him that the Luo enterprises wanted to collaborate with them,. He agreed at once. After all, a chance to collaborate with such a big company didn't come every day.

After landing, he took some rest at a nearby hotel so the next day he would feel refreshed for meeting Mei Wang and the representation of Luo enterprises.

The next day Kevin went to Mei's mansion directly, as Mei Wang had already told him that Luo Li would be there. When he reached there, Mei Wang took him directly to the living room, where he saw Mei Wei standing with a boy and a beautiful girl. Both of them were of incomparable lustre. The desire in his body welled up. It was very difficult for him to control it. But in his mind, he had already decided to have the taste of at least either of them.

Kevin had already talked with Mei Wang the day before over the phone. Thus, he knew that Mei Wang was lusting over the girl, so he could only go after the boy. But he was not sad but quite happy with it.

The boy was really good-looking. Though Kevin had seen many people more beautiful than him, they were all fake beauty. There was something about this boy that felt strange to Kevin. He decided to make him fall for him.

 After he shook Mei Wei's hand, Mei Wang started introducing Luo Li to him. He shook her hand and greeted her. His manner of speaking was polite and sweet.

Luo Li saw a person behind him and asked, "Mr Evans, who is the person behind you?" 

Kevin replied, answering Luo Li's question, "You can call me Kevin, and I take the liberty to call you Luo Li, and as for this person, this is my new assistant, Asnee Benjawan." The assistant nodded his head.

Then Luo Li said something to Mei Wang, and Mei Wang smiled awkwardly. He came near him and whispered slowly, "Where is Sage?" 

Kevin answered, "Oh! He couldn't come, but he handed all of his business matters to me and told me to handle this matter in his place. I hope this is okay with Miss Luo Li."

 Luo Li smiled and waved her hand; she said that it was alright as long as he could come here for some time.

Kevin noticed that nobody introduced the boy to him. Before he could even ask the boy's name, Mei Wei dragged the boy away from him. But Kevin had already decided to make the boy his, either by the boy's permission or by force.

But what Kevin did not know was the said boy was also waiting for his arrival. He was unknowingly trapped in the spider's web.

However, what both of them did not know was a third pair of eyes was also observing all of them….
