The Flower language

Aman started treating Asnee's wounds carefully. His movements were careful yet accurate. He tried to cause less pain.

After that, both of them sat in silence. Any word didn't seem appropriate to say. Asnee had already rejected Aman's demand to call the police. He did not think that he could pressurise Asnee in his painful condition. It was his decision after all. But, his anger was about to explode. He again saw the monster torturing someone. He had faced great difficulty in refraining from going and directly killing the monster in disguise as a human.

Finally, Asnee muttered quietly, "Tha- thank you. I am grateful to you."

Aman waved his hand and said, "It's nothing. I like to treat injured people."

Silence again filled the room. He hesitated a little bit but asked eventually, "Can you tell me why you didn't want me to call the police?"

Asnee fell silent. He didn't say anything. Aman thought it was meaningless to ask. He sighed and got up. He was going to leave but Asnee suddenly started speaking from behind, "It happened because my excellence became a curse for me."

Aman sat beside him again, he looked puzzled and confused. Seeing him like this, Asnee explained further, "I was the most excellent in my field. Due to my hard work, I was always first. My boss felt very proud of me. Kevin was her business rival. He got to know about me from some sources. He thought that I was the reason she was a great businesswoman. He lost many times to her. Thus…. he tried to snatch me away from her. He offered me a lot of money but I was quite happy with my job. Loyalty is the thing my mother taught me very well. Therefore I rejected his offer."

"But then life turned the tables for me. My mother fell critically ill. She had to be admitted to the hospital immediately. The expense of her treatment is quite a lot. I couldn't do anything but had to accept Kevin's offer. Since then, he has become a little.... aggressive, you may say. It is because I didn't accept his offer for the first time but eventually came crawling to him. He often taunts me. I think he is still not over the fact that I chose her over him."

"But... It's nothing serious that I can't bear. My mother's health is my priority. I will try to tolerate it with all my might," he explained completely.

Aman humphed in annoyance, "And that man was giving my prince a lecture on how to treat servants. My prince never even raises his voice on them much less beating them like this. That dog is shameless!" he cursed loudly.

Asnee agreed by nodding his head. Suddenly a thought appeared in Aman's mind. Then Aman suggested, "Hey! Can you tell me which hospital she is admitted to? I might be able to help you." He offered a helping hand.

Asnee looked at him, he showed a small but helpless smile. He shook his head, "No you can't help me. It doesn't matter if young master Mei favours you a lot but at the end of the day, you are still a servant. Your salary must be even lower than me. Anyway, thanks for offering it means a lot to me." Aman smiled at him.

It was the truth that  Aman could not help Asnee much. Because his salary was lower than his. Mei Wei had once tried to give him a large sum as a monthly salary. He said that it was his pay raise. But Aman had strictly refused his offer. He even took a promise from Mei Wei that Mei Wei would never try to raise his salary. Anyway, he did not have many expenses in the human world. He was quite content with his salary.

Silence again fell in the room. Then Aman said softly, "No matter I will help you with what I can and no you can't reject it." His eyes were shining with righteousness.

Asnee shook his head laughing a little, "No I was not going to but can you please keep all of this a secret? Don't tell anybody about this, not even young master Mei."

Aman didn't speak anything for a minute. He never hid anything from Mei Wei, unless it was related to his serpent secret. In the end, it was not his secret to share. Moreover, he didn't want to make Mei Wei worried. He agreed at last, "Okay I won't tell anyone."

He paused a little and then spoke in a sincere tone, "Mothers are most precious. You must take care of her."

Unexpectedly, the alarm on his wristwatch rang. He swore, "Oh! shoot I have to go. My prince will be back soon. I will see you later. Bye."

Aman got up and hurriedly left the room. Asnee looked at his retreating,  there was a strange glint in his eyes as he thought about Aman's behaviour…..

Meanwhile on the other side, after Kevin got out of the house. He started his car and drove away.

He drove straight to the same diamond jewellery store where he had bought the bracelet earlier today. He stormed into the store and saw the same sales girl he had seen before. He sat in front of her angrily glaring at her.

The sales girl Belle was a clever young woman. She was quite good at reading people's faces. She never let a person get out of their store empty-handed. Even if they come to return the jewellery she would just say some sweet words and advise for free. The person would return with that piece of jewellery happily. After all, she was the best employee for five years consecutively.

She was also the one who had sold the bracelet to Kevin. While presenting him different choices she came to know that Kevin was purchasing that for a special person. She greatly assured him that the person would like that present and would appreciate Kevin too which made him pretty happy.

However, who knew that the person would come back and glare at her like he wanted to kill her in broad daylight? She felt somewhat uncomfortable. She needed to manage this customer as soon as possible before the person made a scene and ruined the reputation of her and their jewellery store.

She quickly asked her friend Woody to handle the customers in front of her. She saw another employee had already asked Kevin to sit in one of their private waiting rooms. It was their store's policy to at least try to persuade the customers to not return the goods they bought unless the piece had defects. Because Kevin had bought an expensive item, he was already one of their prime customers. Therefore, he was getting special treatment.

She entered the private room and saw Kevin sitting on the couch. He had an air of arrogance around him. His facial expressions looked quite scary. She managed a tight smile and stood in front of Kevin, "What can I do for you, Mr..... Evans, if I am correct? Your choice of that bracelet was excellent." She greeted him politely and even tried to flatter him a little.

She remembered his name quite well because he had brought a pretty expensive bracelet just this morning.

Kevin answered, "Yes, you are correct, girl. Now listen here I won't beat around the bush. I want to return this bracelet. Take it back." He ordered her.

Belle was stunned, she didn't think that Kevin was the type of person who would come back here to return the goods. She thoroughly analysed him again. Looking at his looks she ascertained that this person was not short of money because only his watch was worth one million.

Thus there must be another reason. But what could it be? She looked at his face. It was covered with arrogance, anger, disdain, frustration and scepticism. All of these were indicators of rejection. Now the question was, who is the one that rejected a diamond bracelet? There were not many people who wouldn't be impressed by a bracelet with so many diamonds, unless..... that person didn't like Kevin at all.

She smiled, "That person must be unique and didn't like this design. May I present you with some other designs?"

Kevin snorted at hearing the word 'unique'. Aman was unique and didn't accept his gift. He was the first one to reject a present sent by him. He felt really angry at him. He said, "Unique? You can call him that. He is such a simpleton. He is unique in an idiotic way. Whenever I try to impress him he rejects me. My patients are running up."

Belle thought, 'Oh! it is like that. He is a simple and loyal person who doesn't like Kevin. He must be one of those who can't be won by money. That's why he didn't accept his bracelet. But I can't let him return it and give him the money back.'

She smiled sweetly, "Oh! so it's like this. You haven't even started a relationship with him yet so how could he accept a diamond bracelet from you? According to me, it's too much. You should do things step by step."

Kevin frowned, he thought that what this girl was saying was reasonable. His impression of Aman was not good so how could he accept an expensive present from him? Moreover, Mei Wei was always watching him. Seeing him with such an expensive bracelet Mei Wei would raise unnecessary questions for Aman. What's more the whole motive to purchase that bracelet was to improve his image in Aman's eyes. He shouldn't have done things impulsively.

He looked at the salesgirl. She was average-looking with her round glasses with her typical salesperson smile. But he had to admit that she was very clever. He asked her, "Then what should I do?"

Belle was expecting this, "I know. You should first tell your feelings by flowers."

Kevin was taken aback, "Flowers? But how?" Aren't flowers way cheaper than diamonds? Who would like flowers more than diamonds?"

Belle assured him, "Believe me, Mr. Evans most of the relationship starts with flowers, not diamonds. What's more, flowers have different languages. You can tell anyone about your feelings in flower language."

Kevin asked puzzled, "What is flower language?"

Belle answered, "Different flowers represent different things. For example, red roses represent - I love you, while the yellow roses represent friendship, whereas the white roses represent purity. In this way, you can tell him what you feel about him."

"This is a good idea. I should try it. Thank you for your advice," said Kevin.

Belle nodded, "Yes you must try this. According to me, you should buy the flowers early tomorrow. They are the most fresh at that time."

Kevin nodded, liking the idea, "I will."

Belle asked, "What about the bracelet."

Kevin thought for a moment and then said, "I don't want to return it now. I will give it to him again at the right time." Belle breathed in relief.

As for Kevin, he knew he would give him the bracelet after their night of passion would pass.  He thought it would be more pleasurable with both parties consenting that was why he was wasting time to impress him.

But it was also the fact that he was running out of patients now. He thought that this method of giving flowers was the only thing he was going to do. If Aman still would not be impressed by it, he would have no other choice than to use force…..
