Chapter 7

~Alec POV~

After that night Hana hasn't said much about Jason. And he didn't show up to class the rest of the week. He hasn't texted me, yet I'm scared to text him. Will his father see it? Will he get mad and hurt Jason? I still don't know what I can do. My phone buzzed in my pocket.

One new message from: Josh

Josh: bro can you come over this weekend?

Me: idk

Josh: come on it will be fun

Me: idk

Josh: really (⊙_⊙)

Me: what

Josh: just come over

Me:why

Josh: I've got a surprise planned for you (~‾∇‾)~

Me: what is it

Josh: can't tell u you'll have to come over.

Me: fine! Who else is coming

Josh: you'll see ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°

I sighed and turned off my phone. Hopefully this will take my mind off of Jason.

That weekend my mom let me go to Josh's house. Every time I see him my nerves spike just waiting for him to say something about what me and Kathy talked about. So far I don't think he knows.That's good.i walked up to his door and heard three voices inside. Josh, Kathy, and Jonathan. I knocked on the door, and it opened revealing Josh. He's wearing black sweatpants, a t-shirt, and black running shoes. He leads me to the living room where Kathy and Johnathan are talking. Kathy is wearing black tights, a black tank top, and black Toms. Johnathan is wearing similar clothes to Josh.

"what's with all the black?Did someone die?" Kathy laughs

"not yet" she purrs out. Now i'm confused. " You didn't tell him Josh?" Josh shook his head.

"tell me what"

"were testing you" it was the first words Johnathan has said since I got here.

"testing me on what?"

"Well you know Jason hasn't been in school, and we want to know if you're still with us, so we're putting you to the test." the blood drained from my face and the world spun under my feet as sweat ran down my back.

"don't worry it'll be fun'' Kathy attaches herself to my arm laughing in my ear. Both Josh and Jonathan are smirking at me.

"what do you have in mind?"

Next thing I know I'm outside a house about a street away from Josh's.

"He lives here" Josh said to us.

"and you know this why?'' I spit.

''I told you they have history together" Kathy whispers.

"what are we doing here Josh?" he laughs.

"when he comes out grab him"

"come on! You can't be serious!"

"he's very serious " Jonathan's eyes are lit up.

We wait in a nearby Bush by the side of the house, getting a good view of the front door. We sit in silence when there's a crash from somewhere inside the house, a cry of pain,then yelling. I can't make out the words, but they're angry. Another crash. Then the door opens, something's being thrown outside. Then the voice says

"I don't want to see you right now" the door slams shuts and soft sobs come from right outside the door.

" now! Go now Alec!" I-i can't i-. Then I'm being shoved out of the bush. What do I do? I take a glance at the bush. Kathy's smiling and waving her hand forward. Jonathan has a creepy smile, and Josh is giving me a stare down. I take a breath and move towards him. He has his back facing me and he's sobbing softly.

"I'm sorry" I whispered in his ear. He gasped when he heard me. "I hate hurting you" confusion crosses his face. I grab him pulling him down from his torso and covering his mouth. He takes a sharp breath through his nose and whimpers as I drag him away from his house. The three are waiting for me in an empty lot nearby.

"nice good job Alec!" Kathy jumps up and down. Jonathan and Josh yank Jason from my grasp, and threw him on the ground.

"can't believe he did it" Jonathan mutters.

"I told you not to doubt him," Josh replies. My stomach drops, shame and regret eat away at me.

Jason stares at me with horror in his beautiful multicolored eyes. I feel ready to vomit, and I look away from him.

"w-what's going o-on?" Jason's voice is shaky. He sniffs and wipes tears from his eyes.

"remember when I told you to stay away from Alec? Then I find out you're helping him with math. Now you know what that looks like. It looks to me like you purposely went against my word and tried to be near him. That makes me angry. So Alec here is going to teach you a little lesson."

Jason looked at me, pain etched on his face. I Swallowed the lump in my throat, not trusting myself to speak. I glance at Josh.

"ok Alec he's all yours" the three of them back away leaving Jason white as a sheet on the dirt floor. I just stared at him, not really paying attention. Was I really going to do this? If I don't they'll all know. Dad will find out and I'll be left for dead. But Jason my god how can I do this?

"Just do it alexander" that small whisper stopped my heart.

"COME ON ALEC" all three of them were waiting on me.

"i can't hurt you" I whispered

"we all know you want to, you've gone this far"

"i'm sorry"

"You're not" his words are so crushing. My heart shattered every time he spoke.

"ALEC WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? JUST BEAT HIS ASS!" Jonathan's voice carries across the lot. I walked closer to his small form. I grabbed his arm and pulled him up a bit. He flinched at my touch. I looked straight into his beautiful eyes.

"I am sorry truly"

Then I punched him. I kept beating him, tears falling down my cheeks. Every hit cut a hole in my heart. His whole body was shaking and tears were falling down his beautiful face. I felt as if I was floating watching myself from far away. I'm screaming for my body to stop begging myself to quit hurt this poor boy, I didn't. not till Jason was bleeding badly shaking and crying.

"s-stop pl-please i-i can't ta-take it"

I let him fall to the ground. My hands shook violently. My vision was so blurred by tears I could barely see a thing.my knuckles were bloody and bruised. I couldn't look at him. I felt nauseous and sick. I turned around and puked on the pavement.

"oh come on Alec it wasn't that bad." Josh's hand clasps my shoulder.

"SHUT UP, just SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Then I punched him, knocking him to the floor. Anger fired inside me and I started beating Josh. The only difference was I was getting my ass beat too. He fought back throwing punches I couldn't doge. Kicking my shins trying to pin me down. We're rolled around in the dirt, kicking dust in the air. I finally got a good grip on him, pinning his arms down as I sat on his chest.

"Fuck you Josh! Why- what did I just do!?"

"YOU JUST SAVED YOUR EXPOSER DUMB ASS!! WHO WOULD WANT TO BE FRIEND'S WITH A FAGGOT LIKE YOU? WHO HANGS OUT WITH A PEACE OF TRASH LIKE THAT! NOT A SINGLE SOAL! WE DID YOU A FAVOUR. NO BR GRATEFUL YOU LITTLE PUNK!" blood drained from my body.

"you knew!" he nodded getting to his feet."i hate you!" he laughed. I looked at Jason still huddled by himself. Johnathan and Kathy were watching us.

"Let's go home guys" they nodded and followed Josh back to his house. "your welcome to come fag if you leave that thing" the left i didn't go after them. I fell to my knees and tears streamed down my face. I crawled over to Jason pulling him close. The night air flowing through us like we're Swiss cheese.
