A/N: Apologies for late updates as I was sick for a week.

"So, what is the plan boss? I think I should call you 'boss' from now on.", said Jin.

"First of all, you will go and get freedom from Pride. Then we will go to the Kanto league city."

"Kanto league city?"

"Yes, we need to register our mercenary."

"You don't even have it registered?"

"Hey, it is a lot harder to get registered. There are a lot of requirements. Did you know, each member of our mercenary should have at least 1 pseudo-king rank Pokemon and the leader should have 1 tier 3 king rank Pokemon? 

There are other requirements too. But this took some time to get it done and now finally it has been done."

Jin didn't know much about the mercenary, so Axel briefed him on it. He also went on to say the number of team members. Just like Hector and Troy, Jin would also be working directly under Axel. Axel didn't know much about his leadership qualities but he was a strong trainer. There was no doubt about it.

Axel told Jin that they would go to the Kanto League city after 3 days. When Jin asked for the reason, Axel said that he would have to meet the king after he won this Rising Star Tournament.

"Are you that confident in winning this tournament? That Mia is exceptionally strong and her Infe…"

"STOP!!! I don't want to hear the name of her Pokemon and how powerful she really is. In fact, I know nothing about her Pokemons and their capabilities. I just know that I am going to win."

Jin felt a bit weird when he heard it. How could a trainer be so stupid that they would not even inquire about their challenger's Pokemon? He had seen how powerful Axel really was. Axel's Venusaur had defeated his strongest Pokemon who was a pseudo-legendary too. Yet, he felt that Axel was a bit arrogant. He didn't comment on it but he wanted to see this battle live tomorrow to see the look on Axel's face.

So, he planned to go to Pride and then get his freedom at last.

The next day,

Jin had already gone to get his freedom and Axel was getting ready for his final battle of this tournament. He had purposely tried to get away when anyone spoke of Mia and her Pokemons. He did this for a simple reason. He wanted to increase the difficulty of today's battle.

If he were to know the ranks of Pokemons that Mia had, his mind would go on an overdrive making numerous plans and he didn't want to do that. It would also be a challenge to his Pokemons.

In spite of that, Axel was not going to use Pokemons like Lucario and Pidgeot in this battle. He was going to use his full force and he would start with a king-rank Pokemon.

He went to the waiting room and surprisingly met with Mia.

"I didn't believe that you would be in the finals. It looks like you are really strong.", said Axel shaking her hand.

"So, you still have not seen or heard about any of my Pokemons and their ranks?"

"No, I purposely avoided it."

"I will let you know that I did the opposite. I want to be prepared and that is what I did. I analyzed everything about your Pokemons and how they battle.", said Mia.

"Well, it wouldn't be fun otherwise. I don't want to get bored. Use your best strategy and Pokemons that you can.", said Axel with a smile that infuriated Mia.

Mia knew that she was not as good as Axel but she was also a very capable trainer. Hearing that her opponent might get bored made her angry but she didn't show it on her face. She was going to show it in the battle after a few minutes.

"Don't worry, you will be surprised.", said Mia and then went on her own way.

"Ladies, Gentlemen, and our dear Pokemons, today is the final of this year's Rising Star Tournament. There would only be one battle tonight and it would be a 3 Vs 3 Pokemon. Don't be disappointed cause the participants in this final are very interesting and also famous. 

First of all, I want all of you to rise for

First of his name, 

The Conqueror, the destroyer and the merciful, 

Lord of the Kanto region, 

Prince of the Dragon born, 

Defender of the city, 

Shield of the Faith 

and Protector of the realm."

As the announcer gave a long description of the King's title, everybody started to rise to show respect for the arrival of the King. 

Axel was also curious about how the king looked and when he saw the King, he was a bit surprised. He expected the King to have white hair, a fat belly, and short stature with a long white beard but he was wrong. 

The King looked around 6 feet tall. He had extremely black hair and it was long to his shoulders. He was wearing an exquisite dress with rubies sticking out of his shirt and blazer. He held a long stick and he was walking with the help of it. He had a clean shaved face, blue glowing eyes, and a piercing gaze. 

He definitely looked like a King.

Even though the league and gym leaders had more influence than the King and Queen in general, he was still a king and there were still some loyal followers of the King and the Queen. 

There were shouts and cheers from the crowd when the King came into view. The king raised his hand and the shouting stopped. Then he waved his hand and proceeded to sit to watch the battle. 

Mia was nervous. She had not been told that the King would be coming to see the battle. Most of the time, the King would not come to such events but this time he did, and now her pressure increased by a lot. Before, she wanted to win this battle and now she had to win this battle to show that she was a capable trainer. 

Unlike Mia, Axel was not nervous even for a little bit. He never wanted to work for the king like Mia and he had bigger Magikarp to fry. He had to somehow save this world and become stronger until Arceus went skynet on this world. So, he didn't care about the King or the Queen. 

He just wanted to battle and win it with overwhelming force.

The announcer went on for some time and finally, it was time for the grand finale. It was time for the battle. Axel was looking at the King and even he looked interested somehow.

Finally, the referee came to the stage and then the announcer started to speak.

"Our first finalist is a girl that not only has captured our hearts because of her looks but also from her battle strategies and her Pokemons. She had come a long way and had finally reached this stage. She is the underdog of this tournament and also its dark horse. Let's welcome Mia."

The crowd cheered. Most of the boys from the crowd stood up to welcome Mia. Mia was a beautiful girl and these boys were just happy to see her. 

"Now, for our second finalist. He is arrogant, he is powerful and he is also famous. I don't want to get into details about him as all of us know who he is. Let's welcome Axel Blaze."

"How am I arrogant?", said Axel to himself and he walked to the stadium. He was also welcomed by the crowd with cheers. The sound was so huge that even the sound of an announcer could not be heard.

The referee went near them and flipped the coin. Mia called heads and it was tails.

"Axel has won the toss. Mia will be sending her Pokemon first."

Toss was an important part of the battle and Axel had won it. Now, Mia would be sending out her Pokemon first. 

She had already thought of which Pokemon to send, so she was not sad about losing the toss.

"Come out, Luxray.", shouted Mia as threw the ball in the air.

It was a quadrupedal Pokemon resembling a fully-grown lion. While its face, hind legs, torso, and the back of its front legs were blue, much of its body was covered with shaggy, black fur. The fur was longer around the shoulders and the base of the tail and formed a mane on its head. It had yellow eyes with red sclerae, a blunt muzzle, and rounded ears with yellow insides. There were three yellow half-rings on the back of each foreleg. Its long, thin tail was tipped with a yellow four-pointed star. 

It was Luxray and it was a king-rank Pokemon.

Luxray was an impressive electric-type Pokemon. The Pokemon was mainly from the Sinnoh region. Axel looked at the stats of Luxray to see what he was dealing with.

That was a good Pokemon. Knowing that it was Luxray, he expected it to have higher speed and attack and he was right. Axel felt good that it had low health and defense and it had yet not learned its pre-domain move. However, that were the only good news. 

It had mastered its ability and hidden ability to 100%. It was an electric-type Pokemon and most of its moves complemented its stats. It also knew 2 new moves. Axel looked at the move description

Thunder charge: Gather the thunder from the surrounding and charge itself to deal devastating attack. The speed and the attack stat of the user would be heightened. 

Thunder Team: Create 1 more duplicate of the user. The duplicate would have 50% stats of the user and can use all the moves of the user with the same mastery. Can use this move for 10 minutes and then the duplicate will disappear.

Both of them were compelling moves and if they were to be used well, they could be very devastating. The battle with Luxray was going to be a tough one. 

Just like Mia, Axe also selected his Pokemon before and this Pokemon was going to be perfect for Luxray.

"Come out, Slowemperor.", shouted Axel and threw the ball in the air. 

A different Pokemon came out of the stadium. The crowd, Mia, the announcer, and even the king had never seen such a Pokemon before. It looked a lot like Slowbro but there were many differences. Like it had a Cloyster on its head, not a Shellder on its tail. It looked massive and the aura it was imitating looked dangerous. 

The surroundings near the stadium had started to freeze as chucks of ice could be seen. This was the power of a tier 3 king-rank Pokemon.

"Axel has called out a totally different Pokemon. Even with my knowledge, I have never seen such a Pokemon in my life. Is this a completely new Pokemon that Axel has created? He had been known to discover different types of evolutions so my bet is that he had discovered one again."

Meanwhile, Axel didn't say anything. He was not going to give up his trump card so easily.
