Chapter 53: The first Battle

Without waiting for a reply, Chikage ended the call and placed the phone back into the man's pocket. Everything was done swiftly and no one in the car noticed anything peculiar.

Jiang Ming had already been in the game for a few hours, and he already reached level 6. He was still using a level 5 armour and most of them were made using his Divine Fusion Technique. His attack had gone up to about 40% which was much higher than his attributes from before.

As soon as he got to level 6, he went to the Demon Wolf Valley in 00981 Novice Village and started killing demon wolves.

"Ayyy, it's all because the Demon Wolf King couldn't enter the Death Bell Tower. If he was there to help me, I wouldn't be in this state now."

As he saw the demon wolves, he thought of the Demon Wolf King that he helped before this.

When he was at the Death Bell Tower before this, he initially wanted the Demon Wolf King's help in killing the zombies, but because he couldn't enter, Jiang Ming told him to leave.

Jiang Ming shook his head and stopped himself from thinking about what happened in the past. Then, he took out a level 5 iron sword and went towards a pack of demon wolves.

Jade Emperor, who was emitting a golden glow, was walking back to his novice village while thinking, 'I can't believe that it's so difficult to kill the King Bear. It can continuously summon for help. If it wasn't because my abilities are good enough, I would have failed the mission.'

However, the ironic thing that happened was — when he was trying to kill the King Bear, he invented a skill that could increase his transportation speed by 200% and just when he thought he was the first player that came up with his own skill, he realised that there was another player that did it before him and that player's name was 'Misty River'.

"Hmph, Misty River. Don't let me catch you, otherwise, I would smash you into pieces!" 

Jade Emperor clenched his jaw as he muttered to himself.

"Wa~~ Look over there! There's a player who's fighting four demon wolves on his own and he didn't even lose a single HP!" 

"F**k, I feel so embarrassed. He can fight four demon wolves on his own, and look at us on the other hand. There are four of us fighting only one wolf and we're about half dead!"

When Jade Emperor was walking past the Demon Wolf Valley, he suddenly overheard the player's conversation. The groups of players were discussing as they watched another player fighting the pack of demon wolf which made him curious as well.

As he arrived at the Demon Wolf Valley, he saw a young man dressed in black and was constantly moving around between the four demon wolves. He paused for a moment and was trying to get the young man's information. 

"Information has been blocked?" Jade Emperor was shocked. He snorted and muttered, "You think that I won't be able to see it just because you have blocked it?"

As he said to himself, a golden ray appeared in his eyes and soon, the information of the young man in black was displayed right before his eyes.

Player: Misty River

"Misty River!"

When Jade Emperor realised who it was, his body trembled for a second and soon, the smile on his face broadened. In the end, he couldn't help but start laughing out loud. "Hahahaha, I was thinking about how to find you. I didn't expect you to be walking around a novice village of the holy faction with your name that's already red in colour. Although I don't know why you're only at level 6, since you're here now, I won't let you get away so easily!" 

As he stared at Jiang Ming's name that was displayed in a bright red colour, he took out the God's Dragon Sword. He was instantly covered with golden light and a golden dragon figure appeared around his sword.

"Look look! It's Jade Emperor, the top player in our novice village! Sh*t… look at the sword in his hand, it must be a divine-level equipment! Look at the dragon figure around it! Why do you think he found it?"

"Eh? He's walking towards the young man in black over there. Is he planning to kill the young man?"

"Maybe. Almost all the players that offended him have been killed and all of them had to start from level 0 again. Looks like the young man over there had pissed him off really badly. But the young man looks like a pro as well. I guess there's an interesting battle to watch soon!"

As everyone noticed Jade Emperor, who was advancing towards Jiang Ming, all of them stopped in their tracks and started discussing about Jade Emperor.

Soon, Jade Emperor was already standing in front of Jiang Ming. Immediately after, he swung his sword and killed the last demon wolf that was standing in front of Jiang Ming. He stood on the ground and looked at Jiang Ming arrogantly.

"Hmm?"

Just when Jiang Ming was going to fight the last demon wolf, bright light suddenly flashed by and the last demon wolf was dead on the ground. He raised his head to see where the light was coming from. Then, the first thing that came into sight was a young man who was entirely surrounded by a golden light and this man was staring at him with a despicable look on his face. He frowned as he tried to recollect who this man was.

'Jade Emperor? The high profile player who possibly has armour that is entirely made of silver equipment.'

"What are you trying to do?" Jiang Ming looked at Jade Emperor with a frown on his face.

Jade Emperor forced a cold smile at Jiang Ming. "Nothing much. It caught my attention that your name, which is bright red in colour, appeared in the holy faction. I was just surprised."

What! 

When Jiang Ming heard what Jade Emperor said to him, he was stunned as a cold glare began to show in his eyes. Ever since he received the Reaper's Customised Mission, his information would be blocked unless the other player was above level 10. This was also one of the reasons why he could still casually walk around the novice village of the holy faction. He didn't think that Jade emperor would be able to see his information. Jiang Ming was surprised and worried at the same time.

The thing that he was most worried about was that once Jade Emperor disclosed his information, all the players from the novice village would want to kill him. Since his name was still red in colour, it would mean that he would lose all his items once he's killed. Plus, the players here would even gain glory points from killing him. These two points together were convincing enough for all the players here to kill him.

"Are you planning to kill?" Jiang Ming had already subconsciously reached for his Reaper's scythe from his inventory as he said to Jade Emperor. 

"Why not? Since your name is still red now and you're also the first player to reach level 10 in this game. You even invented your own skill. I'm pretty sure you have got lots of good items there." Jade Emperor snorted as he continued. "There's no reason why I shouldn't, and I will make sure you drop till level 0! Don't even bother asking me why!"

"Hahahaha, level 0?" Jiang Ming laughed. Then, he took out his Reaper's Scythe and in order to prevent himself from being recognised by the others, he activated the Purple Dragon Skin. Then, a purple dragon appeared around him and he was surrounded by thick black gas. "You're not my opponent!"

"Huh, you sound confident. Make sure you don't cry secretly later when I kill you!"

Then, Jade Emperor swung his sword and dashed towards Jiang Ming with the Steps of Divine God. 

Jiang Ming raised his weapon and with his Phantom Dance Step, he went towards Jade Emperor.

As the two of them collided, Jiang Ming lost about 80 HP while Jade Emperor only lost 11 HP.

Jade Emperor was already at level 12 while Jiang Ming was only at level 6. Also, Jade Emperor had a level 10 equipment while Jiang Ming's had a level 5 equipment. There was a huge difference between their levels, equipment and attributes. Jiang Ming was entirely overpowered by Jade Emperor. 

Jiang Ming initially wanted to make use of his Phantom Dance Step to fight Jade Emperor, but he realised that Jade Emperor was moving at the same speed as him and his movements were just as swift as his. Although it was not as swift as that in Glory, it was already good enough to defeat Jade Emperor.

'Which guild is he from? Why is he so powerful? He must be a very powerful player. Otherwise, he wouldn't have such precise prediction and consciousness while fighting.'

Jiang Ming took another bottle of rejuvenation potion as he thought to himself.

"Hmph, your steps are good; also similar to the ones that The Immovable Protector had in Glory, but too bad, you only know the 'Broken Meteorite Steps' but not the 'Time Traveller's Tunnel'. Since you're trying to imitate The Immovable Protector, I shall use the same trick on you."

Jade Emperor gave a cold smile. Then, he stopped using the peculiar steps from before. Instead, both his legs started stomping on the spot and started dashing forward from time to time. Since this was not his own skills which meant that his agility would not be enhanced, but these steps were very similar to Jiang Ming's Phantom Dance Step.

Jiang Ming's face turned pale when he saw what Jade Emperor was doing. He couldn't believe that both of his steps that were the hardest to imitate were easily learnt by Jade emperor. He was shocked that he finally had an opponent!

As for the 'Time's Traveller Tunnel', it's not because he didn't want to use it. It was mainly because his agility couldn't support the skill.

He only managed to use the skill after completing an entire agility suit. It was such a powerful skill that it shocked every single player in Glory and it was also the skill that made Jiang Ming famous.

"You're shocked? Let me show you the 'Smoke Demon Dreams' of the Divine Altar Guild."

As he spoke, he placed his sword on the ground and leaped over Jiang Ming's head, landing behind him. When Jiang Ming wanted to turn around, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back before he could see Jade Emperor's figure. Then, a 100++ damage appeared on top of his head.

"How was it? Pretty good huh?" Jade Emperor asked proudly, "Do you want to try the 'Death Z steps' of Mo Yi from the TK guild?"

"It definitely is the 'Smoke Demon Dream'. This guy is crazy. Although it was just an imitation, it was really close to the real deal. I'm definitely not his opponent at this point. I better run!"

Jiang Ming wasn't sure if it was because Jade Emperor was really good at imitating or he's just a powerful player who could learn all these player's ultimate movements. Also, since his levels and equipment were all top level, they were definitely not on the same level. In order to prevent himself from being killed and losing anything else from his inventory, the only thing that he could do now was run. 

As he thought about it, he started rushing towards the Hidden Summit Cliff!
